This thesis is devoted to studying the acceptance extent of A.A. Akhmatova and her works in China. Not enough attention was paid to the acceptance extent of foreign poetess’s works while conducting contemporary studies about Akhmatova. The analyses of Chinese literary works about the Akhmatova poetic heritage and the existing assessments of her poetry are carried out in this thesis for the first time. The author insists that the acceptance of Akhmatova’s works in China goes through several stages. It was in the late 20 century that the Chinese public firstly acquainted with her poems. Yet, the real discovery of her poems occurred only in the 1980s. And at the turn of the XX-XXI centuries, there was a genuine Akhmatova study boom, which began to carry out studies about her biographies and early lyrical works. Associating with analyses of foreign studies about her works and taking into account the poetess’s translation strategies of permeating Chinese poems to Russian poetic space, the researchers identified her significant influence on Chinese poetic culture. Attention is also drawn to analyze the comparative works within the framework of the similarity of “female voices” in poetry. This thesis also indicates the future study trend of Akhmatova in China, which will certainly trigger closer interactions and discussions among Chinese scholars who focus on studying the poetess’s heritage.

In this article, I discuss the Song 宋 Neo-Confucian Cheng Yi's 程頤 (1033–1107) interpretation of two related controversial passages in the Analects, the recorded sayings of Confucius. The term “neo-Confucianism” was coined by Western scholars to refer to the Confucianism of the period from the Song dynasty to the Ming 明 dynasty (and sometimes through the Qing 清 dynasty). Among Chinese scholars, neo-Confucianism is most commonly referred to as the Learning of Principle (li xue 理學). Although before Cheng Yi and his brother Cheng Hao 程顥 (1032–1085) there were three other philosophers who are normally also regarded as neo-Confucians— Shao Yong 邵雍 (1011–1077), Zhou Dunyi 周敦頤 (1017–1073), and Zhang Zai 張載 (1020–1077)—we can justifiably regard the Cheng brothers as the real founders of neo-Confucianism in the sense that principle becomes the essential philosophical concept for the first time in their works. There is no consensus among scholars as to the relationship between the philosophies of these two brothers. The traditional view regards them as substantially different due to the two different schools of neo-Confucianism that developed from their teachings, the realistic school synthesized by Zhu Xi 朱熹 (1130–1200) from the teachings of Cheng Yi and the idealist school culminating in Wang Yangming 王陽明 (1472–1529) from the teachings of ChengHao. I, however, tend to think that the philosophical positions of the two brothers are largely similar. Unfortunately, since Cheng Hao did not live as long as Cheng Yi, there is insufficient material to create a systematic picture of his view of the Analects passages with which this article will deal.

<p>For the first time, the metal infiltration depth and infiltration rate of the BN-Al composite prepared by metal infiltration have been calculated and studied. The calculation results show that the infiltration depth gradually increases with the increase of time, and the final infiltration depth can reach 0.21 m. As time increases and voids decrease, the infiltration rate gradually decreases. The maximum impregnation rate is 0.65cm·min-1. This calculation and research provide a positive idea for the calculation and prediction of metal infiltration in void media in the future study.</p>

The role of Confucian traditions in strengthening the contemporary political regime of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea In Asian countries authoritarian relationships have been noticeable for centuries not only on political but also on social grounds. The teachings of Confucius were important in this aspect. According to many authors, they still exert a significant influence in North Korea and have an impact on the durability of Kim Jong-un. However, there are also opinions that it is a big mistake to describe this country as Confucian. For this reason the aim of this article is to show the real meaning of this ideology in North Korea. This will be done by demonstrating similarities of the present situation to the principles of Confucianism, as well as denials of the guidelines of this ideology. As a result, this will allow the author to analyze how Confucian traditions can determine the future of the regime in Pyongyang.

The growth in the study of church history in China is one outcome of Deng Xiaoping's policy of ‘reform and opening’, as well as a result of increasing exchanges of scholars and ideas between China and the west during recent years. Since the 1980s Chinese scholars have to a great degree abandoned the Marxist interpretative framework, and gradually developed their own interpretations and methodologies for the study of church history. In consequence, academic studies in the 1990s displayed a fair, honest and objective character which marked the process of maturation in the development of church history as a discipline. In this process Professor Yu Ke played an important role, of inheriting the past and ushering in the future as the real founder of the discipline in China.

The article reveals the names of the prototypes of certain characters in Nagibin’s long story My Golden Mother-in-Law [Moya zolotaya tyoshcha] (the mother-in-law being A. Likhachyova, the wife of the director of the Moscow Car Manufacturing Plant ZIL). For the first time we read the names and learn about the destiny of M. and L. Kostromin, the real people behind the characters of Matvey Matveevich, the neighbour, and Nina Petrovna, the female protagonist’s best friend. The life story of these personalities, residents of the legendary Niernsee House in Bolshoy Gnezdnikovsky Lane, enables the authors, who are related to L. Kostromina, to explain the underpinnings of the relationships between the prototypes of Nagibin’s characters, often a mystery for the writer himself, and share first-hand accounts that confirm his amazing flair for imagination. The article uses materials of family lore, the authors’ private archive (letters and photographs), as well as hitherto unsearched materials from state archives.

Beyond the relative opening of the political system that characterized 2005 in Egypt — with the President being elected directly for the first time and the increased competition allowed during legislative elections — the 2005 elections also constituted an opportunity to consider and evaluate the internal struggles for influence under way within the ruling National Democratic Party (NDP). In a context largely influenced by the perspective of President Husni Mubarak's succession and by calls for reform coming from both internal and external actors, changes currently occurring at the party level may have a decisive impact on the future of the Egyptian regime.
