Chemical industry enterprises are the main environmental pollutants that cause environmental problems. This is due to the production technology and the toxicity of some substances. In this paper, it is proposed to purify the gas emissions at the JSC Karpov Chemical Plant formed during the production of sodium bisulfite from sulfur dioxide by the adsorption method. As a sorption material, a modified energy waste - carbonate sludge from the chemical water treatment plant of the Naberezhnye Chelny CHPP - was used. The technological characteristics of the granular sorption material are presented. A batch adsorber with a fixed layer of granular sorption material is calculated. The modernization of the technological scheme for cleaning gas emissions from sulfur dioxide of the production line of sodium bisulfite at JSC Chemical Plant named after L.Ya. Karpov is proposed. The calculation of the prevented environmental damage and the economic effect of the modernization of the technological scheme is made.

It is proposed to purify industrial gas emissions from sulfur dioxide by the adsorption method. Waste from the power industry - sludge from the chemical water treatment of Kazan CHPP-1 - was used as an adsorption material. Its chemical composition is presented. Experimental studies of a new sorption material based on energy waste for gas purification from sulfur dioxide have been carried out. The kinetic dependence and isotherm of the adsorption process are obtained. The mechanism of the process of adsorption of sulfur dioxide by sorption material at different temperatures has been studied. The Gibbs free energy, differential heat, and activation energy of adsorption are determined. The economic and environmental impact of modernization of procedure for cleaning gas emissions from sulfur dioxide in sodium bisulfite production at JSC “Chemical factory named after L.Ya. Karpov” was measured.

Topicality. All relationships in the field of nature use begin with the legislative framework on the protection of nature and its individual components, which defines the functions of the state regulating environmental activities, as well as defined rights and responsibilities of environmental users. In most developed countries, it is a law on nature conservation or environmental acts that establishes the general principles and objectives of a policy designed to ensure the conceptual uniformity and integrity of all legislative practice in the use, protection and restoration of natural resources. System and methods of administrative management in using natural resources are based on: system of legislative acts of the country and the region; a system of normative-directive and methodological (obligatory to use) documents of state bodies; system of plans, programs, projects, tasks; operational management system. Aim and tasks. The purpose of the article is to justify institutional reforms in order to ensure the implementation of environmental legislation, the division of powers of environmental authorities at the national, regional and municipal levels on the procedure for decision-making and its implementation. Research results. The lack of coordination control functions using natural resources, namely the lack of a horizontal connection between the supervisory authorities, leads to the fact that many bodies control the same natural resource. First of all, the uncontrolled tourism activity with the use of recreational resources is observed. Thus, the main task of the state administration should be to assess the quantitative and qualitative equivalents of existing and potential natural resources and determine the strategic directions of their management, their use and protection by business entities and households. In this case, it is necessary to determine with which mechanisms to achieve the optimal use of recreational and tourist resources while minimizing environmental damage, minimizing costs and maximizing the social, economic and environmental effects of their use.Conclusions. Taking into account the economic effect that the country can have, it is expedient to take into account not only the economic potential of the recreational and tourist territory, but also the development of alternative activities on it. Control the enterprises located in this territory and conduct their economic activity with the use or extraction and subsequent resale of the recreational resource. Principal is the redistribution of taxes from economic activity to the restoration of recreational resources at the urban level. It is necessary to provide methodological explanations regarding tax provisions and benefits to enterprises involved in this process, taking into account the status of the territory in which the recreation process has arisen, taking into account the medical characteristics of the territory and the extraction of natural resources in this territory.

PM2.5 refers to fine particles with a diameter of 2.5 µm or less in the air. With PM2.5 continuously impacting people's lives, researchers are starting to pay more attention on the treatment of flue gas emitted from coal-fired boilers. This paper introduces a treatment device for ejected fine flue gas. The device uses ejectors to effectively remove acid substances and large dust particles contained in flue gas, and uses air dynamic ultrasonic atomizer to eliminate micro dust particles effectively. The overall scheme of the flue gas processing device is designed, the principle and simulation results of the main components of the ejector are studied, and the optimal value of the ejector ratio is determined by experiments. Finally, the efficiency of processing dust and sulfur dioxide in the flue gas is tested during experiments on the industrial worksite. For the gas emissions from domestic small- and medium-sized coal-fired boilers, this device is more efficient and costs less energy.

Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions is one of the key requirements for sustainable production and consumption, but while the Canadian chemical industry has been very successful in reducing emissions to water and air, and while non- CO2 greenhouse gas emissions have been minimised as well, reduction of CO2 emissions has been less successful. The industry itself forecasts that further reduction of CO2 emissions will be minimal. On the other hand concerns about global warming are increasing, while at the same time the chemical industry increases its commitment to sustainability. Determining the carbon footprint of a chemical plant and of its products will help to identify more emissions reduction possibilities and is a necessary step for the further reduction of the chemical industry's environmental impact. Carbon footprint determination is a corporate goal for AkzoNobel, an international coatings and specialty chemicals company, but the carbon footprint is not yet established for many products, and the information available from the chemical industry is scarce. This paper presents a case study of AkzoNobel's Saskatoon Plant and its attempt to calculate and analyse the carbon footprint of the plant and its main products which are used in the potash industry.

The problem of formation of extended zones with high rock pressure (HRP) from safety pillars at the boundaries of extraction pillars formed due to the mine layout of complex geometry is considered at the example of JSC Vorkutaugol mines. A detailed analysis of the remaining reserves of the near-bottom part of the deposit was carried out to estimate losses and the impact of HRP zones from the Chetvertyi protective seam to mining operations on the Troinoi upper seam along with the possibilities for the reduction of sizes of HRP zones at the account of expanding the underworked space. Due to research on the near-bottom part of the Vorkuta deposit, within the framework of the accepted layout, a zone at the Komsomolskaya mine and two zones at the Zapolyarnaya-2 mine were singled out, at which losses at the boundaries of the extraction pillars amount up to 13-22 % of the total resources of the mine field. The high volume of losses in these pillars indicates the relevance of research on the priority extraction impact of protective seams on the efficiency and safety of mining operations in the working area of underworked and HRP zones. Based on the analysis of foreign and Russian experience in the pillar cleaning-up at the boundaries of working areas and the methodical guidelines and instructions, a technological scheme was developed that allows increasing the coal mining recovery factor in the near-bottom part of the Vorkuta deposit from 0.75 to 0.9 without fundamental changing of the ventilation and transport networks and also without purchasing any additional mining equipment. The conducted economic calculations confirmed the effectiveness of implementing the new technological scheme for cleaning-up reserves at the boundaries of extraction districts. The economic effect is from 0.079 to1.381 billion rubles of additional profit from coaxial extraction pillars, depending on the mining and geological conditions and the size of the pillars.
