The article deals with the non-equivalent vocabulary in socio-political texts of the 18th century. The interest to this type of vocabulary is growing (especially in translation and linguoculturology): every year there are more and more works studying non-equivalent vocabulary with national-cultural specificity of meaning in various resources: fiction, textbooks, press, dictionaries. However, these studies are carried out on the texts of the 19th-21st centuries. In this article, we for the first time analyze this vocabulary in the artistic texts of the 18th century. The authors of the texts (the research materials) are well-known historical figures of the period: Catherine II, M.V. Lomonosov, V.N. Tatishchev, V.K. Trediakovsky, A. Matseevich, P.A. Plavilshikov. The main criterion for text selection was the level of knowledge of non-equivalent vocabulary in them. It is for the first time when identification and description of non-equivalent vocabulary was held in socio-political texts. The purpose of this research is to identify, describe and analyze non-equivalent words in the texts. The practical significance of the research is in the fact that its results can be used in classes of Russian as a foreign language, when compiling dictionaries of non-equivalent vocabulary or linguistic and regional dictionaries, when translating the source texts into foreign languages and making comments. The theoretical significance of the research is in the fact that its results became the basis for further research of non-equivalent vocabulary with national-cultural specificity of meaning. As a result of the research, there were identified the quantity and quality of non-equivalent words. The discovered non-equivalent words were classified into several thematic groups: household items, titles, military vocabulary, social groups, etc., and into types of non-equivalent vocabulary: words-realities, lacunae, exotisms, deviations from the common language norm, etc. In order to have a complete picture of this linguistic phenomenon, it is necessary to make wider the chronological and genre framework of the research material in the future. It is possible to use not only texts of the 18th-21st centuries as a source, but also texts of earlier periods; it is necessary to use not only works of fiction, dictionaries, press, but also to research sociopolitical texts: documents, scientific works, letters.

Conceptual frameworks and principles of CDIO approach in the context of modernization of engineering education are considered. The correspondence between CDIO approaches to the description of learning outcomes and competency-based approach is analyzed. The direction of the implementation of CDIO approach for other specialties is specified. The possibilities of design of  interdisciplinary educational programmes are considered. Approaches of  the using of CDIO in economics and management education are considered.By studying the research of foreign authors, we have found several attempts to adapt the CDIO approach to the needs of economic education. The common motive for such activities, which researchers emphasize, is to enhance the relevance of economic education in the context of further professional activities and to improve the quality of vocational training through the development of design skills and  general competencies related, inter alia, to  project management, work in multidisciplinary teams, communication and collaboration . The difficulties encountered by the researchers include the low level of knowledge of teachers and the management of OHS about the possibilities of the CDIO approach, which complicates the implementation process. Overcoming this is possible through the organization of joint projects for students of different specialties, trainings and internships for teachers of non-engineering specialties.

The aim of the work is to improve the conditions for the separation of cuts on the switch of humps of medium power as a result of improving the design of their hump neck. Methodology. Studies of the design of the throat neck were carried out on the basis of a simulation of the rolling process of the calculated group of cuts on a hump of medium power using an iterative method of optimizing the braking modes of cuts. Results. It has been established that on medium-sized sorting hills in hump necks with one braking position on the downhill part of the hump, it is advisable to lengthen the switch zone located behind the braking position. This will increase the intervals between the cuts on the dividing switches and thereby improve the quality of the interval control of the speed of the cuts when the trains are disbanded. Scientific novelty. For the first time, the dependences of the intervals between the cuts on the dividing switches of the hillside bundles of the hump on the elongation of its switch zone located behind the brake position on the downhill of the hump were established. Practical significance. The results can be used to improve the design of humps and increase the efficiency of the sorting process on humps of medium power.

This article is about a new medical therapy, Dermodialysis to replace the common, randomly performed traditional non-scientific methods such as cupping therapy as the treatment of choice for a new illness I named it "Bad Blood Syndrome", a syndrome described with its treatment for the first time in Medicine which can explain and resolve many idiopathic and non-treatable illnesses as well as unusual or un-expected complications after a simple surgical procedure (*). The presence of the Bad Blood in any organ can compromise the immune system which is the main reason of disease prolongations or even deaths due to an illness in most patients. Dermodialysis is the best treatment for the current COVID-19 pandemic and it can save the world from this global crisis especially at this critical time when the vaccine is still under research and yet not promising to be effective. es the quality of life and no more requirement for Renal Transplantation.

Monitoring moisture status of the growing medium is essential as growth and quality of greenhouse crops largely depend on the amount of available water. Recently, two new types of moisture sensors have been developed (ECH2 O, Decagon devices, Inc., Pullman, Wash.; Theta probe ML2X, Delta -T devices Ltd., Burwell, Cambridge, U.K.). We studied the performance of these sensors for measuring the volumetric water content (VWC) of a soilless growing medium. We also tested the sensitivity of these sensors to temperature and electrical conductivity (EC) of the growing medium. Our results indicate that these sensors can be calibrated and used effectively for measuring a wide range of moisture contents in the growing medium; however media specific calibration may be required. Regression analysis indicated that the output of ECH2 O probes was affected by changes in the EC and temperature of the growing medium. Effects of EC were too small to be of practical significance, while the measured VWC increased by 0.003 m3/m3 for each °C increase in temperature. The output from the Theta Probe was not affected by changes in the EC or temperature of the growing medium. In a comparison study, both probes were found to give similar estimates of the VWC of the growing medium within the common range seen under greenhouse production.

The purpose of the article: сarry out the retrospective analysis of history of the noble family of the Leonovs from the Yekaterinoslav region. Research methods: methods of genealogical research, social history and prosopography. The main results. The existing historiography of the issue is analyzed, which is quite narrow due to little attention from researchers to this little-known noble family. As a result of the heuristic search, archival, printed, visual and oral sources are found, on the basis of which the history of seven generations of the Leonovs family is analyzed from the time of their appearance on the lands of the Prydniprovya region in the late 18th century to the present time. In total, the appendix contains the names of 47 family members with brief information about each of them. The question of the origin of the family, which is not unambiguous, and therefore not fully clarified, is studied. Particular attention is paid to the coverage of the activity of its representatives in the state, self-governing and class organizations of the Yekaterinoslav province in the 19th and early 20th centuries. As a result, the history of one of the noble families of the Yekaterinoslav province is reconstructed, which is almost unknown not only to the general public but also to specialists. Since the nobility for almost 150 years was the local elite, it is difficult to imagine socio-political, socio-economic and socio-cultural components of the development of the Prydniprovya region in the late 18th and early 19th centuries without studying all aspects of lives of its representatives. The practical significance: the presented materials can serve as a basis for studying not only individual biographies of the members of the Leonovs family, but also help in studying the activities of the zemstvo institutions, as well as in clarifying the peculiarities of the reforms of Emperor Alexander II. Scientific novelty: for the first time in historiography a comprehensive analysis of history the Yekaterinoslav region noble family Leonov and presented their generational list were carried out. Type of article: analytical.

Purpose The shortage of doctor of philosophy (PhD)–level applicants to fill academic and research positions in communication sciences and disorders (CSD) programs calls for a detailed examination of current CSD PhD educational practices and the generation of creative solutions. The intended purposes of the article are to encourage CSD faculty to examine their own PhD program practices and consider the perspectives of recent CSD PhD graduates in determining the need for possible modifications. Method The article describes the results of a survey of 240 CSD PhD graduates and their perceptions of the challenges and facilitators to completing a PhD degree; the quality of their preparation in research, teaching, and job readiness; and ways to improve PhD education. Results Two primary themes emerged from the data highlighting the need for “matchmaking.” The first time point of needed matchmaking is prior to entry among students, mentors, and expectations as well as between aspects of the program that can lead to students' success and graduation. The second important matchmaking need is between the actual PhD preparation and the realities of the graduates' career expectations, and those placed on graduates by their employers. Conclusions Within both themes, graduate's perspectives and suggestions to help guide future doctoral preparation are highlighted. The graduates' recommendations could be used by CSD PhD program faculty to enhance the quality of their program and the likelihood of student success and completion. Subject. The study addresses the improvement of risk management efficiency and the quality of lending decisions made by banks. Objectives. The aim is to present the bank management with a fair algorithm for risk management motivation on the one hand, and the credit management (business) on the other hand. Within the framework of the common goal to maximize risk-adjusted income from loans, this algorithm will provide guidelines for ‘risk management’ and ‘business’ functions on how to improve individual and overall efficiency. Methods. The study employs the discriminant analysis, type I and II errors, Lorentz curve modeling, statistical analysis, economic modeling. Results. The paper offers a mechanism for assessing the quality of risk management decisions as opposed to (or in support of) decisions of the lending business when approving transactions. The mechanism rests on the approach of stating type I and II errors and the corresponding classical metric of the Gini coefficient. On the ‘business’ side, the mechanism monitors the improvement or deterioration of the indicator of changes in losses in comparison with the market average. Conclusions. The study substantiates the stimulating ‘rules of the game’ between the ‘business’ and ‘risk management’ to improve the efficiency of the entire business, to optimize interactions within the framework of internal competition. It presents mathematical tools to calculate corresponding indicators of the efficiency of internally competing entities.
