This paper is motivated by the many legal issues concerning human rights issues that occur in the Indonesian education sector, especially regarding gender discrimination. Gender is the differentiation of roles, functions and responsibilities between women and men resulting from socio-cultural construction and can change according to the times. This paper discusses the main issues of gender in the perspective of human rights and gender equality education in Indonesia. Gender is a gender difference that is not caused by biological differences and not God's nature, but was created by both men and women through a long socio-cultural process. Differentiating the roles, functions and responsibilities of men and women in this social context is basically not a problem, but when examined more deeply it can be a cause of the emergence of gender discrimination, which is one of the sexes whose basic rights are neglected, left behind and experiencing problems of injustice.

Abstract From the 20th century to the 21st century, feminist model of interpretation has been developing rapidly. The majority of feminist interpreters, both men and women, criticize the centrality of men in interpreting the Qur'an.They emphasize the argument that the interpreter's gender bias is still dominated by men, most of which have shaped the paradigm of understanding the Qur'an and Islam in general. In contrast to secular feminists, Muslim feminist scholars do not reject Islam itself. Instead, they refer to the Qur'an and the Prophet's Sunnah to support their claim that the Qur'an needs to be reinterpreted. This research specifically tries to study and explore the concept of gender equality in Islam, especially in the perspective of Muhammad Syahrur's hermeneutic thinking. This research analyzes the real relationship between men and women in Islam, whether the views of past scholars are still relevant in positioning the status of men and women. In other words, this research tries to carry out a contemporary reading of the gender equality concept in Islam, which specifically refers to Muhammad Syahrur's hermeneutic. On this basis, this study uses an analysis-hermeneutic approach. Through Syahrur's hermeneutics, the researcher critically analyzes the relationship between men and women in Islam, and carries out a contemporary reading of it. Therefore it  is expected to be able to produce a new thought product about gender in Islam that is more contextual and in accordance with the dynamics of the times. Keywords: feminism, gender equality, al-Qur'an hermeneutics.

Inheritance is the transfer of property owned by someone who has died and then given to someone else who has the right to inherit it. Sons should inherit more shares than daughters. But along with the development of an increasingly advanced era, there is a phenomenon of equal distribution of inheritance between sons and daughters. Under the pretext of gender equality, and emancipation of women, it is fair. This research was conducted to find out the views of Islamic law regarding the equal distribution of inheritance between sons and daughters. This research uses qualitative analysis using the literature study method. This research found that gender equality in the distribution of inheritance occurs with the times and its implementation still adheres to the applicable Islamic law. The differences in the distribution of inheritance between men and women are not caused by gender difference, but the differences in responsibilities imposed on men more than women.  Keywords: Equal, Gender, Inheritance.

Women’s entrepreneurship is a powerful source, regarding to the women’s economic independence and empowerment, as well as regarding employment generation, economic growth and innovation, development and the reduction of poverty as well as one of the terms of gender equality. This poster presents the situation of women's entrepreneurship in Europe in comparative terms, with special focus in Albania. The paper has a descriptive nature. Describes three different plans in comparative terms; the representation of men and women in entrepreneurship, the representation of women in entrepreneurship in different countries of Europe and of Europe as a whole, as well as compare to gender quota. Through the processing of secondary data from various reports and studies, this poster concludes that although that the gender equality goal is the equal participation of men and women in all sectors, including the entrepreneurship, in this sector, gender gap it is still deep. Another significant comparative aspect, it is the difference between full and part –time women entrepreneurship. While in full time entrepreneurship in a convince way, men are those that dominate, in part time entrepreneurship clearly it’s evident the opposite trend, women's representation is much higher. It’s very interesting the fact, that the women’s entrepreneurship in Albania, presented in a significant optimistic situation, ranking in the second place, after Greece in the European level

The paper deals with the concept of wasaṭīyah (moderation) as an ethical framework for community making and its impact on the pursuit of gender equality. Qur’an 2:143 speaks about the correlation between making a fair community (al-ummah al-wasaṭ) and piety, which is inclusive of both men and women. As both terms are intertwined, any efforts to discuss wasaṭīyah must include how Muslims relate to God and how this relationship is exercised in all areas of their lives. Given that this intersection is a matter of ethics, my paper will demonstrate that wasaṭīyah affords the inclusion of both genders as ethical agents in the pursuit of a fair community. I first discuss how the ethics of wasaṭīyah provide a framework for community building by drawing some parallels between Prophet Muhammad’s creation of a fair and inclusive community and how Muslims could embody God’s message within themselves and their communities. I then show how including women in the community-making process echoes both the Islamic ethics of moderation and the value of women as ethical agents.

Thirty years after the Velvet Revolution, Slovak feminist activists look back to the 1990s and early 2000s as the time of exceptional capacity building and knowledge production which was barely sustained in later years. The last decade of feminist organizing has been marked by waning financial resources for civil society organizations, and appropriation of feminist and gender equality agenda by the state, which led to the hollowing out of its content. What is more, strong and pervasive conservative pressure with the aid of ‘gender ideology’ rhetoric has been successful in delegitimizing gender equality policies and is consistently threatening sexual and reproductive rights in the country. Facing such prospects, this article examines newfound alliances and diverse forms of broadly understood feminist praxis, which go beyond institutionalized civil society, but have developed to counter neoconservative and far-right political pressure in Slovakia.

This article analyses the relationship between the representatives and the represented by comparing elite and mass attitudes to gender equality and women’s representation in Britain. In so doing, the authors take up arguments in the recent theoretical literature on representation that question the value of empirical research of Pitkin’s distinction between substantive and descriptive representation. They argue that if men and women have different attitudes at the mass level, which are reproduced amongst political elites, then the numerical under-representation of women may have negative implications for women’s substantive representation. The analysis is conducted on the British Election Study (BES) and the British Representation Study (BRS) series.
