The process of marriage in Islam starting from the engagement stage to the reception is very much considered in every process. One part that is quite interesting in Islam is the dowry. Dowry is a form of gift that must be held in marriage issued by a man to a woman. Another definition of dowry is a full right that must be given to women as a form of respect for women in Islam as well as a form of responsibility and seriousness of a man to marry. From this description, this study chose library research as the research method and character analysis as the approach. Furthermore, as a result of this scientific study, in the perspective of fiqh, the views of the jurists differed in opinion, for example, the jurists, especially the jurists from the four schools of thought, had different opinions about the amount of the dowry and the payment and giving of the dowry. However, from the differences of each cleric, of course, his thoughts direct the benefits of applying dowry in Islamic law.

Women's political rights are often debated. Often deprived of women's rights. This is because women are often only involved in domestic or domestic matters. Basically, women's rights are the same as men's rights, including citizenship rights, education rights, opinion rights, and other rights. In connection with the position of women in obtaining political rights in the Islamic system and concept, it has been widely expressed. Some argue that Islam does not recognize political rights for women. There are those who view the same thing, there are also those who argue that Islam establishes and recognizes political rights for women except for being leaders of the state. This paper tries to describe the political rights of women in Islam and also explores the constitution of the Indonesian state. The method used is to conduct research on several literatures on politics in general regarding women's political rights and then compare them with one another.

Representations of women, Islam, and colonial discourses appear in the Ratu yang Bersujud (2013). The novel is a counter discourse towards the representation of women and Islam in global discourse. The main problem of this research is the representation of Islam and women towards the Western world within the perspective of the author's subject. The purpose is to show the representation of Islam and women according to the author's subject view. This research uses a post-colonial perspective, especially the way colonized subjects present re-representation or overwriting. The objects are the Ratu yang Bersujud (2013) and the views of colonized subjects on the representation of Islamic identity (women and Islam). This research data consists of text narrative structure, thematic ideas of the text, social context of the author or colonized society, and discourse of modern colonialism. The result of the research is that the author's subject carries out a deconstruction that leads to the defense or resistance to the image or representation of Islam and women in the global discourse. However, it is trapped in ambiguity, which is trapped in colonial discourse and does not voice women in Islam but Islamic identity in the perspective of the patriarchal subject. It is proven as a representation of women as objects of misfortune.

The discourse on economic rights of the woman is one of issues spoken today. Islam as code of the life expands in its all aspects, addresses genuine concern about economic rights of the woman. This paper aimed at examining the Islamic perspective on the women economic rights based on review of prevailing literatures and textual sources of Islam. Building a natural and balanced human society is primary mission of Islam through its divine guidance. Islam recognizes the natural abilities of both male and female and assigns their roles in a society. In Islamic social system both genders have their own and unique roles in human development in the meantime both have their rights. The Islamic perspective on economic rights of the woman is derived its basics from the interpretation of the Islamic textual sources primarily al-Qur’an and historical experience of model Islamic society in early Islamic period. The concepts of inheritance, mahr etc. in practice ensure the distribution of wealth to female proportion of the Muslim community and enable them to maintain and involve in the growth.

The paper aims at investigating the critical opinions about Bernard Shaw’s ambivalent relation to feminism. In this regard, the researchers highlight the emerging role of postfeminism and its overlapping elements with the Islamic portrayal of womanhood. Shaw differs from his predecessors drastically – he portrays independent female characters as compared to the invisible and submissive females of the past. Thus, one of the striking features of Shaw’s drama is the depiction of liberated women. The Shavian women do not consider men folk as their rivals. There is a shift from powerless to empowered women in academia. The researchers find out that there is an ideological conflict between feminism and Islam but as far as postfeminism is concerned, there is none. Rather, postfeminism propagates and supports the Islamic concept of womanhood thoroughly. It is also worth noting that feminist ideas and ideology have greatly dented the social and political fabric of mankind and human civilization in general. Whereas, postfeminism propagates in favor of maintaining a balanced position for womanhood in life which is a balance between social and individual life, and a balance between professional and family life. The purpose of this article is to promote a better understanding of the status of women in Islam and its overlapping and common areas with postfeminism, that is, God has equated female folk at par with their male folk. The research is significant as it challenges the western notion of women in Islam and dispels the erroneous notions of suppression of women in Islam. The prime finding of this research is that postfeminism proclaims equal footing for men and women in life, as enshrined in the Holy Quran.  Further, the researchers lament that just because of myopic-minded people, the world is not making any progress intellectually. The researchers recommend that there is a dire need to promote liberal intellectuals like Shaw who harbor no bias against Islam and Muslims to maintain peace and order in the world.

The position of women in the pre-Islamic era in the period of ignorance, called Jaliyah before the dawn of Islam, was very miserable. Women were just treated as inferior beings under customary tribal laws existing in Arabia. The inheritance was mostly passed by the male heirs, and the women had no property rights. In this article, a descriptive evaluation has been done regarding the distinctive Privileges given to women in Islam: Maintenance for women as a wife and daughter. The nation of maintenance in Islamic Law/Sharia was to provide support to the one not having the capability to maintain oneself; maintenance involves the fulfilment of basic requirements of a person for sustenance, e.g. niceties of life. In the circumstances where a woman gets half of the man’s legacy, the lady’s new income is safe by the Sharia and is hers to allocate with as she desires.

A sequel to The Holy Woman(2001), Typhoon(2003) is Qaisra Shahraz’s second novel. This paper analyses how Shahraz continues problematizing female sexuality and the politics attached to it, especially in rural Pakistan. It dilates upon the discourse that surrounds the female body and sexuality in Pakistan society within and outside the framework of marriage. What is at stake is that women’s own sexuality becomes a burden for them. On the contrary, men take pride in their masculinity which gives authenticity to their voice. The cultural colonization of women’s lives (as it appears in Shahraz’s novel) is addressed under the theoretical rationale of Islamic feminism. This is done with the aim to locate the space granted to women in Islam, especially when it comes to the female body and its sexuality.
