The development and creation of the traditional Selangor Buginese “Poja” dance in 1988 is a heritage art that has undergone dance reconstruction. The reconstruction is linked to the “Pakurru Sumange” dance in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Kaeppler’s approach to reconstruction (2007) shows that symbols in the “Poja” dance function as a representation of the Buginese community. The study is also based on the theory of creation and tradition by Hobsbawm (1983) and Shill (1981) to understand the relationship between the two aspects of dance involving the traditions of the Bugis community in Selangor. In conclusion, both processes detail the dance’s development, therefore allowing its identity to be linked to the Bugis community in Selangor.

The era of globalization has a significant impact on the business world. Globalization raises intense competition among companies to achieve company goals. To improve the employees’ performance, the game, innovation, and creativity of leaders and employees are needed. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the improvement of employees’ performance at the Sipatuo Company in Baranti District, Sidenreng Rappang Regency, South Sulawesi. This research is quantitative research aims to know the relationship between the employees’ performance and its indicators. This variable measurement used in the instrument in the form of a questionnaire with an ordinal scale on each item in question. The result showed that the employee’s performance at Sipatuo Company in Baranti District, Sidenreng Rappang Regency was in a reasonably high category. This seen from the employee's work quality, the quantity of work that can be done by the employees, although sometimes the employees need some time to complete their work, the needs of employees for supervision and assistance from other employees, and good relationships established between employees. This research implies that the leaders become pay attention to the employees’ performance and improve their work outcomes.

This article details the development of Indonesian national art theatre in Makassar, South Sulawesi from the 1950s to the present. It argues that through a commitment to modernity and modern aesthetics strong bonds to the idea of the nation were formed by Makassar theatre workers. Furthermore, in charting the relationship between local Makassar theatre and national trends often pioneered in Jakarta, I argue that beginning in the New Order and continuing to the present, through several formal and stylistic changes, the deployment of local cultural elements in modern Indonesian national theatre has deepened. Yet this development represents both a renewed pride in local identity and a continuing commitment to the national community.

Background: Self-regulation in learning (Self-regulated learning) is a concept about how a student becomes a regulator for his own learning. Self-regulation is a process in which a student activates and supports cognition, behavior, and feelings which are systematically oriented towards achieving a goal. Learning outcomes are determined by effort rather than level of intelligence. The effort in question is that students are able to organize themselves to learn independently. Purpose: : This study aims to determine the relationship between self-regulated learning and the Indonesian midwife competency test. Methods: The research design used analytical survey with cross sectional study approach using snow ball sampling technique with a sample size of 192 respondents. Results: The results showed that there was no relationship between Self Regulated Learning and the results of the Indonesian Midwives Competency Test with a value of p = 0.236 (> α value). The need for further research on other factors that affect the results of the Indonesian Midwives Competency Test.

Objective: This study aim to determine the relationship between teeth color value and skin color value of the Makassar tribe.Material and Methods: This observational analytic research employs cross-sectional study and purposive sampling methods, with 73 samples; held in May 2012 in Bontoramba, Jeneponto district, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. It uses the Vita-Lumina shade guide for teeth color tests and Garnier FD344110.122.007 for skin color tests.Results: The results show that the distribution of teeth colour value in respondents is mostly in the highest values (A1, B1, A2, B2 color) which were 71.2%, while the skin value is mostly in a dark skin color (78.1%). Data was analyzed by the chi-square test. It was found that teeth color value was not related to skin color value in the Makassar tribe (p>0.05).Conclusion: Skin color value was not an indicator in determining the teeth color in the Makassar tribe.

Lesson study has commonly three stages in the implementation. They are plan, do, and see. In the process, a relationship occurs between people who are involved in it. They are the teachers, students, and observers. This research focuses about the positive relation happened between teachers and observers. Positive relation between people who are involved in learning process could improve classroom quality. The positive relation is named mutualism. In biological term, mutualism is when two organisms of different species "work together", each benefiting from the relationship. Meaning contained in the term is used by the researcher to indicate a relationship that occurs in the lesson study process. This research aims at finding out the mutualism in lesson study, especially the mutualism between teachers and students. The method used in this research was qualitative method. The research took place at English Education Study Program, Cokroaminoto Palopo University, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Teachers and students in this institution were taken as the participants of the research. Data gained through classroom observation and focus group interview. The result of the research shows that mutualism happens between teachers and observers.

Stunting is caused by three factors, involving individuals’ food intake, birth weight, and health condition; the quality and quantity of food nutrition, human resources, number and family structure, parenting, health care, and services; and environmental factors that include social infrastructure, educational services and health services.This aimed to find the relationship between mothers’ education level and exclusive breastfeeding toward the toddlers’ stunting in South Sulawesi Province 2015 based on the report of secondary data analysis on Nutrition Status (PSG) 2015.This research used 2015 PSG data with observational design. The samples in this research were toddlers in 3 cities or regency in South Sulawesi Province with the highest stunting event rate, they were Jeneponto (300 toddlers), Pangkep (300 toddlers) and Tana Toraja (298 toddlers). Secondary data were taken from PSG report of 2015. The nutrition status was measured by anthropometry. Mothers’ education level and exclusive breastfeeding data were obtained by asking respondents using PSG 2015 questionnaires. To find out the relationship of two variables, it was conducted yate's correlation test using SPSS program. The data were presented in the form of frequency distribution tables and narration.The results showed that the prevalence of stunting was 44%. The proportion of lower educated mothers was 56.5%, while exclusive breastfeeding was quite high at 94.8%. Mothers with less education (27.7%) had stunting children, while 27.3% well-educated mothers have normal children and there was a significant relationship between mother education level and stunting on toddlers (p = 0,001). The stunting was found on toddlers who are not exclusively breastfed (0.9%) and exclusively breastfed (43.1%), and there was a significant relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and stunting incidence in toddlers (p = 0.000).

The application of the principles of good governance is not only limited to ministries and government agencies or central and regional government levels. The application of good governance needs to be extended to non-governmental social institutions such as children's social welfare institutions. Sejati Orphanage of Muhammadiyah Rappang is one of the social welfare institutions of children in South Sulawesi, founded by H. ismail Ambo Mariama since 1950 as a form of social concern for the massacre known as the 40,000 victims in December 1949 in South Sulawesi. This research aims to determine the level of participation and application of the principles of good governance in the orphanage. This research uses quantitative descriptive method by describing the two variables using the Likert scale and examining the relationship between the two variables using linear regression analysis. Samples is 30 was taken from 150 populations. The results show that the level of participation and application of the principles of good governance are included in the excellent category. While the level of participation influences 42.2 percent of the application of the principles of good governance. This shows that the application of the principles of good governance in social institutions is easier compared to other institutions.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate the mediation effect of work performance and organizational commitment in the relationship between reward system and employees’ work satisfaction. Design/methodology/approach The study population constituted all employees/permanent employees (civil servants and non-civil servants) at Bank of BNI, Bank of BRI, Bank of Mandiri, and Bank of South Sulawesi. The analytical method used to test the hypothesis of the research was structural equation modeling. Findings Based on the analysis results, it can be concluded that the extrinsic reward system and the intrinsic reward system have a direct, significant effect on work performance and organizational commitment, and work performance and also organizational commitment have a direct, significant effect on work satisfaction. On the other hand, the extrinsic reward system and the intrinsic reward system have no direct effect on work performance, but work performance and organizational commitment as mediation variables bridge the relationship between the extrinsic reward system and the intrinsic reward system to work satisfaction. Originality/value Mediation effect (using the Sobel test) of work performance, and organizational commitment in the relationship between Reward Systems on work satisfaction, location of the study (no previous research for this relationship): Bank of South Sulawesi, Indonesia.

The main of this article to be expressed are Cultural Values and the Religiosity Behind the Skills (Kepanritaan) of Pinisi Boat Making in a very well-known community of boat makers in Ara, Bira and Tanalemo Villages, Bontobahari District, Bulukumba Regency, South Sulawesi. This research uses the verstehen method (Weber in Ritzer and Goodman, 2004 and Kaelan, 2005) on Pinisi Boat Making Activities and Changes from the beginning to the era of shipping modernization. The data was collected by combining comprehensive data collection techniques (observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and triangulation: Sugiyono, 2007) and analyzed using interpretive post positivistic qualitative descriptive analysis method (with systemic complementary analysis procedures: Data Collection), Grouping, Categorization, and Discarding Insignificant Data (Data Reduction), Mapping Data on Causality between Data Categorization, and Conclusion: Miles and Huberman, 1995). The results of the research show that the professionalism in making pinisi boats is built on the basis of assessment with the underlying occult values. A cultural value that tends to be ecologically oriented in the sense of keeping the relationship harmonious with the natural ruler in a magical way. These values tend to weaken amid the development of shipping modernization and the development of the boat-making industry.
