The aim of this study was to determine the factors which have a predictive value when it comes to the intensive and excessive use of the Internet among adolescents. Predictors tested included different psychological, behavioural, and socio-demographic variables. The data were collected at the end of 2018 within the framework of the international survey EU Kids Online, on a sample of 863 adolescents from Serbia (434 [50%] males) aged 11 to 17 years. It was shown that the intensive use of the Internet was more characteristic among girls, adolescents with a tendency towards antisocial behaviours, those who think to have advanced digital skills and those whose parents did not apply restrictive forms of mediation. On the other hand, the excessive use of the Internet was related to certain psychological variables, like anxiety, impulsivity, and perceived discrimination on various grounds, but also to the absence of active parental mediation and support in the use of digital technologies.

Children constitute an important group within policy discussion on information society issues, particularly in the context of digital learning opportunities and e-inclusion. However, their participation in e-society is also a cause for some public and policy concern. With ever-earlier adoption of new internet technologies and services by children, questions arise as to how to best ensure their protection whilst seeking to encourage positive online opportunities. A delicate balancing act is required to manage risks they may encounter while promoting greater participation online. To better inform this policy field, EU Kids Online conducted a pan-European survey of children’s use of the internet, resulting in the first fully comparable evidence base of children’s use of the internet in 25 European countries. Drawing on its findings, this chapter examines children’s participation in e-society and addresses the nature of online opportunities, the kinds of digital skills required and evidence of the risks young people may face on the internet. The chapter argues that greater attention to children’s perspectives on e-society is needed to foster greater online trust and participation.

Resumo: Este artigo objetiva caracterizar prováveis motivos e apontar algumas consequências da utilização exagerada da internet como veículo de agenciamento das subjetividades na atual cultura. Procura mostrar como as relações interpessoais e as formas de interagir se modificaram com o advento das tecnologias digitais, transformando de forma significativa a expressão das individualidades; como um sentimento de inadequação social pode facilmente levar à procura de uma forma de socialização mais fácil, através do espaço virtual, arcando, porém, com o risco de tornar o sujeito dependente das redes sociais. Reflete acerca da motivação que leva à superexposição dos sujeitos no cenário contemporâneo e as mudanças que tais comportamentos ocasionam nos relacionamentos sociais e afetivos.Palavras-chave: Internet. Psicanálise.Abstract: This article aims to characterize likely reasons and point out some consequences of excessive use of the internet as a vehicle for brokering of subjectivities in the current culture. It seeks to show how the interpersonal relations and ways to interact have changed with the advent of digital technologies, alteringconsiderably the expression of individuality; as a feeling of social inadequacy can easily lead to the search for a form of socializing easier, through the virtual space, bearing, however, with the risk of becoming dependent on the social networks. It reflects about the motivation that leads to the overexposure of the subjects in the contemporary setting and the modifications that these behaviors cause in social and affective relationships.Keywords: Internet. Over the past two decades, internet use has been increased significantly worldwide. The present study aims at examining the associations between internet use in emerging adulthood and crucial developmental dimensions during this age period, namely life satisfaction, identity development, and attachment style. Previous studies have shown that there is a high risk of excessive internet use during emerging adulthood. Five hundred men and women aged 18 to 25 years participated in the study. They completed (a) The Internet Addiction Test (Young, 1998), (b) The Life Satisfaction Scale (Diener et al.,, 1985), (c) The Dimensions of Identity Development Scale (Luyckx et al., 2008), and (d) The Relationship Scales Questionnaire (Griffin & Bartholomew, 1994). Hours of daily use, specific online activities and socio-demographic variables were also assessed. The results of the research showed that the excessive use of the internet is significantly related to hours of daily use and to specific online activities. Men made significantly more use of the internet than women. Those who were not satisfied with their current life conditions, were engaged in exploration in breadth, ruminative exploration and avoided or felt uncomfortable with close interpersonal relationships, were more likely to resort to excessive internet use. These results have implications for future studies regarding excessive internet use in relation to young people’s quality of life.

At present, the representatives of the country’s small farming sector are interested in using digital technologies in their economic and socio-cultural life. The possibility of using new digital technologies presupposes the presence of a certain level of education and special competencies, in connection with which such a form of acquiring knowledge as self-education is becoming widespread. Basing on the results of the analysis, a tendency for a significant increase in the involvement of representatives of small agribusiness in the process of self-education in groups with higher, vocational or secondary general education was revealed. It was found that on average 4-5% of the working-age population employed in the rural economy remotely improve their educational level and use electronic libraries. The use of the Internet is most often carried out to provide access to electronic government services, search for suppliers, sales sites for products, and obtain the required operational information. Mostly the use of its opportunities is focused on goals that are remotely related to improving the social potential of small farms: to pay for services or transfer money, submit or search for advertisements for the sale of things, as a means of communication on social networks, tracking news, entertainment and pleasure (music, games), etc. The current situation can be characterized as insufficient use of the existing potential opportunities present in the rural society. The use of digital technologies, in particular, the Internet, requires a change in the arrangement of current priorities to build up economic and economic potential, among which the sociological monitoring of the most demanded branches of knowledge, the modernization of education and its adaptation to the specifics of the rural way of life, an increase in general and specialized competencies of small farm owners and workers.

Abstract Background The internet has become the most widely used medium among teenagers, who spend much of their time online, which raises parental concerns. Notwithstanding teens’ increased internet use and exposure to online risks, little is yet known about parental internet mediation in local settings. The present research aimed to assess the various dimensions of parental mediation to regulate teens’ use of the internet and their predictors. Methods A cross-sectional survey was conducted in the district of Lahore, Pakistan, among mothers/female caregivers of teens (aged 13–19 years). Only women were interviewed because they are more frequently engaged as primary caregivers than fathers or male caregivers. Furthermore, only qualified and working mothers from the top two professions among women, i.e. academia and medicine, were interviewed. A stratified random sampling technique was adopted, and 347 mothers were interviewed using face-to-face interviews at 11 universities and 11 hospitals/medical colleges. Data were entered and analysed using descriptive, bivariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses. Results The findings highlighted that more than 65% of respondents applied highly active mediation of internet safety, around 60% used highly active co-use mediation and more than 56% applied restrictive mediation. In addition, 36% of respondents monitored and 15.3% technically mediated to regulate their teens’ use of the internet. The results of the multivariate logistic regression revealed that the majority of respondents were more inclined to adopt active internet safety mediation if they had teens aged 16–19 years, with medium internet addiction, possessed good digital skills, felt confident about their teens’ coping appraisal to perform online protection, and considered their teens to have high self-esteem and resilience. Conclusions This research found that parental internet mediation is a multifaceted concept used to regulate teens’ online activity and enhance a resilient approach to reduce the risks associated with use of the internet. The researchers recommend developing parental guidelines, e-safety resource material, local support networks and community programmes to educate parents, teachers and teens in order to raise awareness and promote resilient pathways amongst teens.

El presente trabajo se propone identificar los principales peligros digitales que enfrentan los menores al navegar libremente en Internet, y el alcance de la protección legal disponible en México. Para tal efecto se identifica el uso de internet entre niños y adolescentes; se detectan los principales peligros digitales, y el alcance de la protección legal disponible en México y en el mundo. Las dimensiones que caracteriza este problema conlleva a considerar que los esfuerzos nacionales son insuficientes si los delitos informáticos no se resuelven en un marco internacional. ABSTRACTThe internet is, after television, the means of communication that has the greatest influence on children and young people. In recent years, children and adolescents have learned early how to use electronic equipment; however, although they have acquired digital skills, they are unaware of the dangers that their use implies. This work aims to identify the main digital dangers that minors face when freely browsing the Internet, and the scope of legal protection available in Mexico. For this purpose, the use of the internet among children and adolescents is identified; the main digital dangers are detected, and the scope of legal protection available in Mexico and in the world. The dimensions that characterize this problem lead to consider that national efforts are insufficient if cybercrime is not solved in an international framework.

The intensive use of the Internet and communication technologies among adolescents has increased addiction and/or their problematic use. The innovative and revolutionary development of this technology can have negative effects on the mental and physical health of its users, and it seems to have a greater impact on adolescents. As this is causing a public health problem, the objective of this study was to review the different intervention and prevention programs for this problem in adolescents. A total of 14 programs met the inclusion criteria. The analysis of the programs allows for the identification of effective intervention designs for prevention, and also for the treatment of the current problems derived from the use of the Internet and technological devices among adolescent users.

Reading comprehension is a complex mental performance of an individual, which is strongly influenced by the modern phenomenon of the use of the Internet. The main goal of the study is to examine the relationship between foreign language reading comprehension (in English and German) and the Internet use (time spent on the Internet, the Internet addiction). The results of the research confirmed negative relationship between the time spent online and reading comprehension in German. Internet addiction is positively correlated with reading comprehension in English, this relationship is influenced by demographic variables of students’ gender and the type of school attended.

The article presents a description of modern digital tools that can be used in the educational process for more activating content in the formation of the necessary professional competencies in students. The use of the Internet board "Miro" allows students to master such concepts as "conflict" and "conflict resistance" while studying the discipline "Conflictology"; the digital tool "Nearpod" while studying the topic "Conflict Management in the Organization" made it possible to present a presentation and, after studying its content, conduct online testing on the "Test Wizard" platform, using tasks of varying complexity; the use of artificial intelligence is also possible as a new tool for resolving interpersonal conflicts - on the platform of the TELEGRAM social network.
