Commercially available foliar spray labeled as ‘Planto-fuel’ increased significantly (p ≤ 0.05) most of the growth traits viz., leaf length, bulb diameter (7.6 cm), bulb length (5.9 cm), leaves fresh weight/plant, neck fresh weight/plant, bulb fresh weight/plant (166.6 g) and plant fresh weight. It also produced the maximum yield (14.2 tons/ha) while the basal application of DAP significantly increased the number of leaves/plant and 2nd best results in yield whereas the lowest yield was observed through water spray. It is observed that the foliar application of micronutrients mixture in combination with nitrogen is the most suitable method to increase the onion production.

The use of microbial inoculums can improve growth and yield of plants without use of agrochemicals which can result in obtaining quality food. Rocket is widely grown for spice and salad in the areas of Mediterranean Sea. Having in mind the importance of rocket in human diet the research was carried out in rocket grown in unheated protected houses. The experiment included four variants as follows: variant 1 control – untreated variant; variant 2 – treated with application of inoculum from the product Uniker into the soil before the sowing of the rocket; variant 3 – treated with application of inoculum from two different products Uniker and Slavol S before sowing of the seeds, whereby Slavol S was applied by immersion of the seeds for five minutes before sowing, and Uniker was applied in the soil before the sowing of the rocket; variant 4 – treated with foliar application of live cells of bacteria Azotobacter sp. (10-6 cfu/ml) every fifteen days during vegetation. During the vegetation total yield (t/ha) and yield components were measured. The results showed that the highest average yield (22,30 t / ha) was achieved by variant 4. Also the highest average value for the weight of the whole plant (4,22 g), root weight (0,50 g), rosette weight (3,73 g) and leaves weight (2,50 g) was obtained by variant 4. The highest average value for the number of leaves was measured in variant 3 (6,13) while the root length was highest in control variant (116,70 mm).

The aim of this study was to determine the impact of the applied fertilization on the vegetative growth and yield parameters of garlic (Allium sativum L.) during cultivation at the locations in Split and Ljubitovica. The experiment with the local Ljubitovački Šarac garlic genotype was set up from the fall to the summer of the 2012/2013 growing season. Three types of fertilization were applied: a mineral, organic, and an organomineral one. Climatic conditions, vegetative growth, and the garlic yield parameters were monitored during vegetation. A location impact was statistically significant. In Split, better results were recorded concerning the plant height (35.8 cm) and the number of leaves (7.4), while better results were obtained concerning a percentage of the extracted heads (68.3%), total yield (427.5 g), and a percentage of the marketable plants (98.5%) at the Ljubitovica locality The effect of fertilization had no statistically significant differences. The area of Ljubitovica turned out to be more suitable for growing the Ljubitovački Šarac genotype, whereas the organic fertilization has not produced a negative effect on the investigated parameters of the garlic yield, which is contributing toward a possibility of growing this genotype pursuant to the organic agriculture legislation.

Variety having proper response to phosphorus for proper nutrient uptake and the optimum level of phosphorus for higher  yield may be a way of increasing production and productivity in the context of Nepal. This experiment  was carried out in Lamahi Municpality, Dang district of the Province no: 5, inner terai region of Nepal during the rainy season, 2019. The objective of the experiment was to study the effect of different phosphorus level on growth and development of different varieties of cowpea. The experiment was laid out in two factorial RCBD with two varieties (Aakash and Prakash) and five phosphorus level (0 kg ha-1, 20 kg ha-1, 40 kg ha-1, 60 kg ha-1 and 80 kg ha-1). The result revealed that variety Aakash showed the significantly higher yield of fresh pod (15.99 t ha-1) and yield attributing parameters like number of leaves at 45 DAS (35.22), leaf area at 45 DAS (70.23 cm²), pod diameter (0.77 cm), total number of fresh pods per plant (44.85) than Prakash variety (yield; 12.25 t ha-1). The parameters like number of branches and pod length were not affected by the variety used. In addition, the different level of P also affects the yield of the fresh pod of different varieties. The P level 40 kg ha-1 reported highest yield of fresh pod (20.18 t ha-1 and showed significantly higher number of leaves (38.9), number of branches (23.48), plant height (88.78cm), leaf area (81.89 cm²), pod length (17.76 cm), pod diameter (0.79 cm) and total number of fresh pods per plant (55.19) whereas control produced the lowest total yield of fresh pod (8.33 t ha-1), control (30.99) and 80 kg P ha-1 (30.86) produced the least number of leaves, control produced the least number of branches (17.31), control (63.77 cm) and 80 kg P ha-1 (67.83) produced the shortest plant, 80 kg P ha-1 produced the minimum leaf area (51.09 cm2), control produced least pod length (14.3 cm), pod diameter (0.74cm), total number of fresh pods (34.29). Similarly, interaction of Aakash and phosphorus dose 40 kg ha-1 produced significantly maximum number of leaves (43.07) and total yield of fresh pods (23.33 t ha-1). The results of the experiment revealed that variety Aakash with the phosphorus level 40 kg ha-1 seems the more profitable in Terai and inner Terai condition of Nepal. However, the results need to be confirmed for other varieties used by farmers in the region.

The experiment was conducted at the Agricultural Research Field of International University of Business Agriculture and Technology, Dhaka during the period from August to October 2020 to investigate the response of different doses of nitrogen fertilizer on the growth and yield of Kangkong (Ipomoea reptans poir). The experiment consisted of four nitrogen fertilizer levels viz. T0: no fertilizer, T1: 60 kg nitrogen fertilizer, T2: 80 kg nitrogen fertilizer, and T3: 100 kg nitrogen fertilizer per hectare. The result revealed that plant height, number of leaves per plant, number of branches per plant, fresh weight per plant, dry weight per plant, root length per plant, fresh weight of root per plant, dry weight of root per plant, yield per plot and yield per hectare grown under different doses of nitrogen fertilizer viz. control (T0), 60 kg N per hectare (T1), 80 kg N per hectare (T2), showed significant reduction than those grown in 100 kg N per hectare (T3). The experiment was conducted following Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with four replications. The application of different doses of nitrogen significantly influences the growth and yield of Kangkong. The maximum plant height, number of leaves, number of branches, fresh weight per plant, root length was obtained from T3 treatment while the minimum was found from the control treatment (T0) at 60 days after sowing. The highest yield (17.87 t/ha) was performed from the treatment T3 and the lowest yield (11.83t/ha) was obtained from the control treatment where no nitrogen was used.
