       An experiment for the  agricultural season 2017  was carried out in pots in the Autumn season to study the effect of application three levels of Sea Top  foliar  fertilizer (0, 50,and 100 gm.L-1) and Three levels of zinc (zinc sulfate) was ( 0, 30, and60 mg. L-1) with three times spraying  intervals every20 days  for  some of  the growth and yield parameters  of the Dahlia cv. Albion. The spray concentration of zinc sulfate at level of 60 mg / L-1 and Seaweed at a level of 100 mg / L -1 had significant differences in plant height,  number of branches ,number of flowers per plant, flower diameter, fresh weight of flower,fresh weight of the tuber , number of tubers per plant, fresh weight  of the stalk,and dry weight of the vegetative parts ,compared with the control treatment. The increase was 115.16, 6.33, 12.0, 15.53, 25.66, 371.36, 6.66, 46.56, and 60.16  for the above qualities respectively. We conclude, that the application of Seaweed Extract and Zinc improved the yield contributing factors that resulted in a significant increase in Productivity of Dahlia hybridayield.

This experiment was conducted in the lathhouse of the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Gardening, College of Agriculture, University of Baghdad to study the effect of two nutrition compounds called Cytojeep and Florin on the vegetative and flowering characters of Pansy (Viola tricolor) during the fall season of 2016. Plants were planted in 20 cm/diameter pots and sprayed two times with different concentrations of Cytojeep 0, 0.5, and 1 ml.L-1 and Florin 0, 0.15, and 0.30 ml.L-1 started after one month of planting with 21 days intervals. The results were as follows: Spraying with Cytojeep resulted in improving all vegetative and flowering traits under investigation. The foliar application of Cytojeep at 1 ml.L-1significantly increased plant height 13.84 cm, number of branches per plant 7.40, fresh weight 4.98 g, dry weight 0.88, flowering time 47 days, flower diameter 74.99 mm, number of flowers 5.97. Moreover, spraying with Florin at 0.30 ml.L-1 significantly increased all vegetative and flowering characteristics in terms of plant height 14.01 cm, number of branches per plant 7.42, fresh weight 5.03 g, dry weight 0.91 g flowering time 47 days, flower diameter 75.70 cm, number of flowers 5.87. Finally, the interaction between the two nutrition compounds showed to have an effect on all vegetative and flowering traits under investigation where the highest concentration of Cytojeep and Florin gave the most significant results in plant height 15.67 cm, number of branches per plant 7.89, fresh weight 5.76 g, dry weight 1.18 g, flowering time after 43 days, flower diameter 81.66 mm, number of flowers 6.85.


The experiment was conducted at the Agricultural Research Field of International University of Business Agriculture and Technology, Dhaka during the period from August to October 2020 to investigate the response of different doses of nitrogen fertilizer on the growth and yield of Kangkong (Ipomoea reptans poir). The experiment consisted of four nitrogen fertilizer levels viz. T0: no fertilizer, T1: 60 kg nitrogen fertilizer, T2: 80 kg nitrogen fertilizer, and T3: 100 kg nitrogen fertilizer per hectare. The result revealed that plant height, number of leaves per plant, number of branches per plant, fresh weight per plant, dry weight per plant, root length per plant, fresh weight of root per plant, dry weight of root per plant, yield per plot and yield per hectare grown under different doses of nitrogen fertilizer viz. control (T0), 60 kg N per hectare (T1), 80 kg N per hectare (T2), showed significant reduction than those grown in 100 kg N per hectare (T3). The experiment was conducted following Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with four replications. The application of different doses of nitrogen significantly influences the growth and yield of Kangkong. The maximum plant height, number of leaves, number of branches, fresh weight per plant, root length was obtained from T3 treatment while the minimum was found from the control treatment (T0) at 60 days after sowing. The highest yield (17.87 t/ha) was performed from the treatment T3 and the lowest yield (11.83t/ha) was obtained from the control treatment where no nitrogen was used.

Parsley is a biennial plant from the Apiaceae family that is used in the food, pharmaceutical, perfume and cosmetic industries. This plant has various mineral such as Fe and vitamins including A, B and C and grown in most parts of the world. Nano-fertilizers are a good alternative to sulfated fertilizers due to their higher solubility and gradual release of particles than conventional fertilizers. In order to investigate the effect of foliar application zinc on growth and yield of parsley, an experiment based on randomized complete blocks with 6 treatments and three replications was performed in the experimental field of Imam Khomeini Higher Agricultural Education Center. Treatments included foliar application of Nano zinc chelate fertilizer (0.5, 1 and 1.5 g/L) and zinc sulfate (1 and 1.5 g/L). The foliar application was performed in 4 to 6 leaf stage and repeated every 14 days till before harvesting. Number of leaves, plant height, leaf area, leaf length and width, fresh and dry weight of leaves and stems were measured. The results showed that the highest amount of the mentioned traits was obtained in the foliar application of 1.5 g/L Nano zinc chelate fertilizer and the lowest values were obtained at the control treatment. It is noteworthy that there is no significant difference between 1 and 1.5 g/L Nano zinc chelate fertilizer in terms fresh and dry weight of leaves and stems and both treatments are statistically in the same group. Therefore, foliar application of 1 g/L Nano zinc chelate fertilizer is economically recommended.

This study was conducted in experimental fields, Department of Horticulture, University of Bagdad, in Abu-Graib  during season 2011-2012 for jerusalum artichoke. This study was included the effect of dipping tubers in three concentrations of GA3(2.5,5,10g/l) (G1,G2,G3),as well as to control treatment (G0), and spraying nutrient solution Agro leaf A1 (8g/l), as well as to control treatment (A0). This study was made by using Factorial experiment (4*2) within the design RCBD with three replicates. Results could be summarized as follows: G3A0 increased field emergence (12.00 day), G2A0 increased percentage of germination (99.33%) and G2A1 increased number of branches (4.60 stem.plant-1) but the treatment G1A1gave highest rate for number of leaves, leaf area, guide of leaf area, dry weight of the vegetative parts and dry weight of 100gm tubers as(4495.10 leaf.plant-1, 2246.20 dsm2, 99.84, 922.40g, 24.00g.) respectively. The treatments gave significant differences quantity yield, so treatment G3A0 gave highest weight of the tubers as(45.55g.) but the treatment G3A1 gave highest number of the tubers as(68.00 tuber.plant-1 ) and highest yield of plant as (2890g/plant).

Although,chickpea isnitrogen fixing crop but water scarcity under rain-fed condition reduces its nodulation process severely and nutrients use efficiency too. An experiment was carried out regarding the combined effect of nipping as well as foliar applied fertilizers on yield and yield components of chickpea under rain-fed conditions. Nipping and foliar application of nutrients significantly improved number of pods plant-1, biological yield (kg ha-1), harvest index (%) and final grain yield (kg ha-1). However, non-significant influence was seen in 1000-grain weight and number of grains pod-1. Foliar application of N PK (20:20:20) @2.5 kg ha-1 × nipping was found to be the best interaction among others which significantly increased number of branches plant-1 (11.30), number of pods plant-1(115.36), plant height(59.48cm) and grain yield(2338.9 kg ha-1) as compared to the control treatment. Nipping along with foliar application of NPKcan be practiced in chickpea for higher profitability.

An experiment was carried out at the Horticulture Farm of the Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh during  the period from November 2010 to January 2011 to study the effects of cowdung and potassium on growth and yield  of Kohlrabi. The experiment consisted of three levels of cowdung (0, 20 and 40 t/ha) and four levels of potassium (0,  20, 50, 80 kg /ha). The experiment was laid out in randomized complete block design with three replications. All the  parameters were significantly influenced by application of cowdung and potassium. The highest plant height (44.65  cm), number of leaves per plant (12.11), length of largest leaf (37.54 cm), and breadth of largest leaf (18.66 cm) were  obtained from the highest dose of cowdung and potassium applied (40 t cowdung + 80 kg K/ha) while the lowest  plant height (33.64 cm), number of leaves (9.01), length of largest leaf (27.94 cm), and breadth of largest leaf (11.00  cm) were obtained from control treatment combination. The highest fresh weight of leaves (49.33 g), fresh weight of  knob (328.66 g) and fresh weight of roots (66.55 g) per plant were also recorded under the treatment combination of  40 t cowdung + 80 kg K/ha, while the lowest fresh weight of leaves (22.11 g), fresh weight of knob (136.00 g) and  fresh weight of roots (23.33 g) were obtained from control treatment combination. Similarly, the dry weight of leaves  (19.34%), knob (15.19%) and roots (32.75%) were highest under the same treatment combination of 40 t cowdung +  80 kg K/ha and the lowest dry weight of leaves (11.71%), dry weight of knob (7.38%) and dry weight of roots  (15.29%) were obtained from control treatment combination C0K0. The marketable yields of knob per plot (7.86 kg)  and per hectare (39.58 tons) were also the highest under the treatment combination 40 t cowdung/ha and 80 kg  potassium per hectare.   DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.3329/jbau.v10i1.12035   J. This study has been conducted at the city of Diwaniah located 180 km south of Baghdad to examine the effect of potassium and copper floral application on the growth and yield of potato plants (var.Burren) during the 2015 spring season. Factorial experiment has been carried out in Random Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications and Nine treatments have been used  which have three potassium concentrations at 0, 3000, and 6000 mg KL-1 designated  respectively and three copper concentrations at 0, 2.5, and 5 mg CuL-1 designated  respectively in addition to their interactions. The treatments are applied at three different timeframes which are 45 days after sowing, 15 days after the first spraying, and 15 days after the second spraying. Vegetative growth have been collected at the maturation stage then dried to obtain dry weight and N, P, K, and Cu have been estimated in plant leaves. Tubers are harvested to measure number and yield/plant, tubers average weight, total marketing yield and yield. The obtained data are statistically analyzed and averages are compared according to the least significant differences (LSD) at 5% level of significance and the results were as follows: The yield components which include tubers number as compared with the control treatment. Copper foliar application significantly increase vegetative traits of the yield. The K2 treatment has given the highest significant increase of main stem vegetative growthof the components which include tubers number as compared with the control treatment. The interaction treatments have given a significant result in terms of the both the vegetative and yield traits where K2* Cu2 give the most significant increase in term of vegetative growth while K2* Cu1 significantly increase the plant height and K1* Cu2 significantly affect the number of leaves. As for the yield component, K2*Cu2 show to have the most significant result in all traits under investigation. Finally.

The aim of this study was to find the effect of planting distances and spraying with different concentrations of leaf fertilizer with micronate15 on some vegetative growth traits and yield of pea variety Green Canada in non-heated greenhouses, by using three planting distance (factor A) which includes:  A1:20, A2: 30, and A3:40 cm and four spray concentrations as foliar application (factor B) which includes: B0: zero, B1: 0.5, b2: 1.5 and b3: 2.5 liter of water). According to the results of this study the highest plant (124.82cm), number of branches (4.58), fresh weight,(95.94 g) and the total yield (142.41 g)were observed in the distance of planting (30 cm), while the highest value of the pod length was observed from the distance planting in 40 cm which is 8.39 cm. The concentration of 1.5 mL / liter of micronate15 gave the highest values of branches 4.53 branches, fresh weight 97.47 g, number of pods 36.73 pods, number of seeds 8.55 oats, length of the pod 8.83 cm and the total yield 150.78 g. The highest values of the number of branches 5.14 branch, fresh weight 105.72 g, the number of seeds 8.90 seed and the total yield 159.78 g were observed from the interaction between the planting distance of 30 cm and 1.5 mL / liter of nutrient micronate15. Also, the interaction between   20 cm distance and foliar application with 2.5 mL l of micronate15 gave the highest value in the number of leaves which is 53.36.

Nowadays, shading net is widely use in Thailand, especially for vegetable production. Many colors of shading net can be found in the market. In this experiment, we set up three net houses for lettuce by using three colors of 50% transparent shading net, black, red and green. Ten of 15 days after planting (DAP) lettuces were moved to each color net house and control (direct sun). Total 40 lettuces were used for 10 days experiment. The result showed that the leave length and width of lettuce under red shading net respectively were significantly bigger than those under green shading net and control treatment without significant difference with the black shading net. The lettuce under red shading net had a highest stem diameter, fresh weight and dry weight comparing with others color shading net. The spectra of the solar radiations that transmitted through the red shading net were suitable for the photosynthesis of the lettuce leaves that could promote lettuce growth and yield.

A field trail was carried out at the research farm of the School of Forestry and Environment, SHIATS, Allahabad. The experimental research site is situated at an altitude of 90 m above the sea level at 25.570 N latitude and 81.510 E longitudes. The experiment comprised seven treatments replicated thrice. The maximum germination % (96.67%), plant height (83.73cm), number of branches/ plant (11.93), fresh weight (185.28g), dry weight (45.73g), at 110 days after sowing (DAS), number of pods/plant (91.67), number of seeds/pod (3.93), pod length (6.93 cm),test weight (90.73g), seed yield (23.87q/ha), straw yield (40.73 q/ha) and harvest index (36.94%) recorded in treatment T5. The result showed that the applications of organic manure (50% Farmyard Manure + 50% Vermicompost) maximized the soybean growth and yield under subabul trees. Therefore, it may be concluded that 50% Farmyard Manure + 50% Vermicompost can be recommended for growing soybean under subabul based Agroforestry system for obtaining better growth and yield.
