This study aims to identify and describe the implementation of Drum Band extracurricular activity at SMP Negeri 5 Kerinci. This is a qualitative research using descriptive method. The data were collected through literature study, observation, interview, and documentation. The research instrument used was the researcher itself. It was also supported by supporting instruments such as notebooks, stationaries, and a cellphone camera.From the results of the study, it can be described that there are some stages in the implementation of Drum Band Extracurricular activity at SMP Negeri 5 Kerinci. The stages start from selecting members, determining practice materials, determining practice schedules, doing rehearsals, and performing the Drum Band. To get maximum results, the coach creates two forms of training.  One is the routine exercises carried out on Saturdays during self-development lessons, and another is the additional exercises carried out two weeks before participating in the competition. The first exercise begins with a group practice of musical instruments and is continued with a combined practice of all musical instruments. Keywords: Implementation, Extracurricular, Drum Band

Abstract This study aims to determine and describe the implementation of drumband extracurricular activity in SDN 48 Ganting Padang. This type of research was qualitative research with using descriptive method including literature study, observation, interviews and documentation. The research instrument was the researcher. The Supporting instruments used were notebooks and stationery, photo cameras / mobile phones. This study explains that drumband is one of the extracurricular activities in SD Negeri 48 Ganting Padang. Drum Band is used to support flag ceremony. Besides, drumband is used by the community for babako parade events. Based on the results of the study, it is found that the implementation of the drumband begins by designing the principle of activity consisting of determining the participants of the exercise taken fromthe students at class VI, then determining the training time every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday. The material used namely marching exercises and musical exercises training that consisting of the song Indonesia Raya, Independence Day, Bangun Pemuda Pemudi, Bareh Solok, Ayam Den Lapeh, Malam Bainai and Moment of Silence. This extracurricular activitiy runs in accordance with the plans that have been made by the school.Keywords: implementation, extracurricular, drumband

This study aims to describe the implementation of the choir extracurricular at SMA Adabiah 2 Padang. This is a qualitative research with a descriptive analysis approach. The research instrument used was the researcher itself and was assisted by supporting instruments such as writing instruments and cameras. The data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature study. The data analysis was conducted by collecting the data, clarifying the data, and concluding the data. The results show that the implementation of choir extracurricular activity at SMA Adabiah 2 Padang  run well due to the fact that it was conducted through the correct stages, starting from gathering students who were interested in choir extracurricular activities, scheduling, training agendas, and giving materials. In the implementation stage of the choir, students can sing the Ayam Den Lapeh song in a choir which consists of two voices, soprano and the alto voice. The choir extracurricular activity was held for the first time at SMA Adabiah 2 Padang, but the results are quite good because it was supported by sufficient facilities. Eventhough they do not have a permanent trainer, the teacher has been able to carry out these extracurricular activities well.Keywords: Implementation, Extracurricular, Choir

This study aims to explore and describe the implementation of Culture and Arts instruction based on the revised 2013 curriculum of 2016 edition at SMP Negeri 3 Padang. This is a qualitative research using descriptive method. The research instrument was the researcher itself and was assisted by supporting instruments such as writing tools and cameras. The data were collected through literature study, observation, interview, and documentation. The data analysiswas conducted through collecting the data, describing the data, taking conclusion and making suggestions. The results showthat the unisono singing instruction conducted by teachers in class VII-2 of SMP Negeri 3 Padang has not gone well and had not met the targets of the learning objectives and the objectives of the revised 2013curriculum. This can be seen from the planning, implementation, and evaluation. Thereisnorelevancy between the lesson plans and those implemented by the teacher in the classroom. Teachers do not fully understand the concepts and techniques of singing unisono so that students do not understand the subject matter. The results of the unisono learning evaluation of students in class VII-2show that the highest score got only reached 87, the lowest score was 75, and 10 students did not reach the cut score.Keywords : Implementation, Instruction, 2013 Curriculum

AbstractThis study aims to describe or find out the inheritance of the Krilu musical instrument in Sanggar Ratau Agung in Tunggang Village, Lebong Utara District, Lebong Regency, Bengkulu Province. This research is a qualitative research. The research instrument was the researcher itself and was assisted by supporting instruments such as stationery, voice recorder, and camera. The type of data in this study was primary and secondary data. The data were collected through literature study, observation, interview, and documentation. The data analysis was conducted by collecting data, classifying data analysis, and making conclusions and suggestions. The results show that the inheritance of Krilu in Sanggar Ratau Agung in Tunggang Village, Lebong Utara District, Lebong Regency, Bengkulu Province uses an open and enculturation system. This inheritance system does not use a closed one due to the fact that there is no family from Krilu artists that can inherit the Krilu art. The open inheritance system carried out by artists is by teaching individual studio members who are interested and want to learn Krilu musical instruments. Meanwhile, the closed system is not found in the inheritance system. This research aims to reveal and describe "The preservation of Piriang Rantak Tapi dance in Pitalah village, Batipuh District, Tanah Datar Regency". This research belongs to a qualitative research using descriptive method. The main instrument in this study was the researcher itself and was assisted by supporting instruments such as writing tools and cameras. The data were collected through literature study, observation, interview, and documentation. The steps of analyzing data were collecting the data, describing the data, and concluding the data. The results show that the effort to preserve the Piriang Rantak Tapi dance isby collaborating with the Tuo Tari and the community in Pitalah village, Batipuh district. With the training of Piriang Rantak Tapi dance, the number of performers has increased from 1 to 8 people in the dance, so that currently the RantakTapipiriang dance has had the next generation to maintain the existence of the dance. This has a positive impact and can be accepted by the community because there are many dance performers around the community. The impact learned in the PiriangRantak dance is that those who previously did not understand dance, but then they can dance a dance taught, namely Piriang Rantak Tapi Dance.Keywords: Preservation, Rantak Piriang Dance, Kenagarian Pitalah

This study aims to find a way of presenting the music as accompaniment in the Sikh religious worship terkhususnya part Asadivaar, music functions as an accompaniment in implementing Asadivaar, and uses musical instruments in worship Asadivaar music as an accompaniment. This study is based on a theoretical foundation to explain the meaning form of presentation, understanding the function, the music, the music instrument, understanding of the Sikhs. This research was conducted at Gurdwara Nanak DevJiKampungKeling Medan in June until August 2016. The method in this research use descriptive qualitative research. Population Board Gurdwara and Sikh People who worship Gudawara Nanak DevJi while samples numbered 20 people. Data collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature study. The results of this study indicate that the form of presentation in the rituals of the Sikh religion is particularly Asadivaar implemented during worship takes place. There are four functions of music in the liturgy Asadivaar, namely Disclosure Emotional Function, Communication Function, Aesthetics Appreciation Function, Function and Stability Contribution to Cultural Survival. The usefulness of instrumental music in the worship of the Sikh religion which serves as a Tabla rhythm in the song, Harmonium function as chords and melody in a song, and tambourine serves as tempo and rhythm. Keywords: aesthetics Islam

Drum band is one of the extracurricular activities carried out at SD Negeri 1 Legian. The activity was carried out on Tuesday at the school yard. This extracurricular activity is able to build and grow certain characters in the students who participate in it. According to the Ministry of National Education and Culture, there are 18 values ​​developed in human, religious, namely honesty, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creative, independent, democratic, curiosity, national spirit, love for the country, respect for achievement, friendship. communicative, peace-loving, fond of reading, caring for the environment, and responsibility. Researchers will associate these 18 characters with the characters that can be raised from the drum band extracurricular at SD Negeri 1 Legian. This research use constructivism theory, behaviorism theory, and value theory. This type of research data consists of primary data and secondary data obtained from observation techniques, interviews, literature study, and documentation. The results showed the following: (1) The types of activities carried out in the drum band extracurricular at SD Negeri 1 Legian, namely, praying, arriving early, playing musical instruments, cleaning musical instruments, playing different musical instruments, practicing during the day, singing the national anthem, maintaining cleanliness at the practice site, reminding, and allowing students to worship during extracurricular activities, (2) The process of implementing drum band extracurricular activities at SD Negeri 1 Legian requires students to understand 4 main parts of the drum band extracurricular, namely, percussion, brass, color guard, and majororet, (3) The values ​​contained in the drum band extracurricular at SD Negeri 1 Legian are curiosity, responsibility, discipline, religious, independent, friendly / communicative, hard work, a spirit of tolerance, and care for the environment. Each of these values ​​if applied seriously will foster human character who has good morals and ethics.

This study aims to describe and analyze the meaning of Kain dance in marriage ceremony at Pauh V, Pauah district, Padang city. This is a qualitative research using a descriptive method. The object of this research was Kain dance in Pauh V community, Pauh district, Padang city. The data used in this study were primary and secondary data. The main instrument was the researcher itself and was assisted by supporting instruments such as writing instruments, cameras, and cellphones. The data were collected through literature study, observation, interview, and documentation. The data analysis was conducted by reducing the data, displaying the data, and making conclusions. The results show that Kain dance is a traditional dance which is a manifestation of the values of Pauh V community in a marriage ceremony. The instructions are given by niniak mamak (headmen) and bako (fathers’ family) as people who are responsible. This is depicted in a dance by dancers who invite the bride and groom to dance as a form of learning.Kain dance depicts a man who is married and is recognized as an adult who must have dexterity, strength, and vigilance in facing challenges in life's journey. This dance is performed in a marriage ceremony during the malakek an gala (giving a title). However, over the time, Kain dance may be performedat religious events in Pauh V Community, Pauh District.Keywords : meaning, cloth dance, wedding ceremony

Abstract This study aims to determine and describe the factors that influence students' interest in dance self-development activity in SMP Negeri 9 Payakumbuh. Type of this research was qualitative research. The research instrument was the researcher. It was also assisted by using stationery, recording equipment and camera. Types of data in this study were primary and secondary data. Techniques of data collection were carried out by taking literature study, observation, interviews and documentation. The steps in analyzing data were done by doing collection,  reduction,  presentation, drawing conclusions of data. The results show that the factors that influence students' interest in dance self-development activity in SMP Negeri 9 Payakumbuh are found internally and externally. Internal factors are such as the lack of attention of the Students in dance self-development, the students' attitudes tend to be low, the ability of students overally are very good and the students’ motivation are also very good. Meanwhile, external factors include the teacher, infrastructures and the learning method. So it can be concluded that the attention, attitude, ability, motivation of students are very influential in the dance self-developement activity. Keywords: students’ interest, self-development, dance

The research aims to reveal, describe, and analyze the development of the Tampuruang Dance in Sabirullah Matador dance studio, KanagarianPasirTalangTimur, Solok Selatan Regency.This research is a qualitative research usinga descriptive analysis method. The object of this research is Tampuruang Dance in NagariPasirTalangTimur, Sungai PaguSubdistrict, SouthSolok Regency. The type of data was primary and secondary data. The main instrument was the research itself. The data collection techniques were conducted through literature study, observation, interviews, and documentation. The data collected were analyzed by using interpretation techniques so that the truth can be obtained.The results show that the Tampuruang Dance Tradition had developed into creativeTampuraung Dance.This development can be seen from the motion management, dancers, floor patterns, accompaniment music, make-up and clothing, as well as time and venue. In its motion, there is a development of 4 motives. Inthe floor pattern, there is development of 17 floor patterns. In costumes, the colors and accessories used are also developed.In the musical instrument, there aresomeadditions of musical instruments: Bansi, talempong, andjimbe. Thus, the process of Tampuruang Dance development in NagariPasirTalang is supported because there is a desire from the Sabirullah Matador studio to maintainTampuruang Dance by turning it into an attractiveTampuruang dance creationso that it can be used by the community. In addition, it can be a place for youths to learn maintaining cultural heritage so that it becomes a local village identity. Keywords: development, Tampuruang dance, Sabirullah Matador Studio
