The article considers the existing classifications of thermal burns by the depth of the lesion. The analysis and comparison of different classifications among themselves is carried out. The problems that may arise in forensic medical practice in determining the severity of thermal burns, which are associated with the use of different classifications, are demonstrated. The use of different classifications of burns according to the depth of the lesion can lead to incorrect determination of the severity of injuries when compiling the "Expert Conclusion". Methodological approaches that will avoid this are presented. The aim of the work. Elaboration of methodological approaches to the use of modern classifications of burns, which are introduced in Ukraine and in other countries, during forensic medical examinations of thermal injuries. Materials and methods. Analysis, synthesis, comparison and analogy of printed and electronic legal documents of Ukraine, domestic and foreign forensic and medical literature on burn injury. Results. Analysis and comparison of different modifications of burns classification by depth of injury revealed that modern classifications by combinations of numbers and letters differ from the classification of burns by depth, which is used in forensic practice in Ukraine in determining the severity of thermal injuries. The forensic expert during the examination in cases of thermal injury examines the medical records that contain information about the treatment of the victim. Victims can be treated in various medical institutions both in Ukraine and abroad. Thus, different classifications are used in the formulation of the diagnosis, which can lead to incorrect determination of the severity of the injury caused by high temperature. The result is a biased "Expert Conclusion", which may later be considered inadequate evidence in criminal proceedings. To prevent erroneous assessment of the degree of burns, the expert must find out what classification of burns is used in making a clinical diagnosis, and interpret the specified degree of burns in accordance with the gradation of burns, which regulates the activities of forensic experts. Conclusion. At present, the «Rules of forensic determination of the severity of injuries», which were approved in Ukraine in 1995, don't provide adequate methodological support for forensic expert research, which should correspond to the current level of development of medical science and clinical practice. The introduction of the achievements of world medicine into the domestic forensic medical practice should be facilitated by modern legal documents regulating the activities of forensic medical institutions of Ukraine.

Screening for new antibiotics remains an important area of biology and medical science. Indispensable for this type of research is early identification of antibiotic mechanism of action. Preferentially, it should be studied quickly and cost-effectively, on the stage of primary screening. In this review we describe an application of reporter strains for rapid classification of antibiotics by its target, without prior purification of an active compound and determination of chemical structure

The article considers topical issues of definition and qualification of premeditated murder. Intentional homicide has been shown to be distinguished from related and externally similar events, such as suicide and accident. This issue is especially relevant given the fact that a person who committed premeditated murder may knowingly seek to create an environment for incorrect classification of the act. Therefore, it is not possible and not necessary to draw unambiguous conclusions about the legal qualification of such an event solely due to objective circumstances, despite the sometimes obvious nature of the event. The author identified a number of common and distinctive features that should be taken into account by law enforcement agencies during the qualification of an event involving a violent death. An example is the presence and clarity of the reasons for which a person may have committed a probable suicide. However, it is stated that a person's subjective attitude to the act and external signs should be considered only in conjunction with other circumstances. The author also considers certain features of the object, subject, objective and subjective side of premeditated murder, which will be key in resolving the issue of qualification. It was found that the essential features of premeditated murder are its illegality and the intention to take the life of another person, is only in the presence of both of these factors can a legal fact be interpreted as premeditated murder. There are certain signs of an accident that distinguish such an event from premeditated murder. The key is the absence of any form of guilt on the part of the perpetrator. The author also identified a number of features in the presence of which the qualification of the act as premeditated murder should be excluded, for example, the case when the subject of the act and the victim are one and the same person.

To date, there is no consolidated opinion regarding the terminology and classification of bruxism. The following terms are used for determination of unconscious strong compression teeth: “effect Karolyi”, “stridor dentium”, occlusal neurosis, odonterizm, “bruksomaniya”, “parafunctional activity of masticatory muscles”. Because of the disease nature the polyethiologic symptom group is develops that complicates the disease representation. The authors are recommend the usage “bruxism” term in everyday practice and as the most well-established and popular in the medical practice. The primary point of our study was identification of the pathognomonic parameters on electroencephalogram in patients with bruxism. As result of the study it was identified that the border type of EEG was registered statistically higher in pa-tients with parafunctional activity of masticatory muscles than in control group. The results are consistent with global trends, in respect that neuroscientists are systematize bruxism to “parasomnias”, (according to ICD 10) which are characterized by minor changes in the basic rhythm which were identical to findings that we revealed in the study group.

The formation of business strategies of enterprises should be based on a preliminary assessment of their current and future economic opportunities. Such an assessment is to establish the value of the total economic potential of enterprises and its individual varieties. The purpose of this study was to clarify the essence of the economic potential of enterprises, justify the need for its evaluation and selection of its types. The main approaches to interpreting the terms "potential" and "enterprise potential" are identified. These include resource, result, resource-result, resource-target, and result-target concepts. It is established that the potential of any object, including the enterprise, can be interpreted as a set of its external functional properties, which this object shows or can show in a certain state of the environment in which it is located. Accordingly, the assessment of the potential of an object should be based on the identification and determination of its external properties, taking into account the environment in which the object is located. The main situations in which there is a need for information about certain components of the economic potential of the enterprise are identified, and the types of this potential and the consumers of the information about their level, corresponding to these situations, are determined. In particular, such situations include management of production and sales, management of financial and economic results of the enterprise, management of enterprise development, assessment of the company's need for various types of resources, assessment of enterprise value, assessment of current and future impact of the enterprise on the economy of the country (region), etc. The features of classification of types of enterprise potential existing in the scientific literature are supplemented by the following ones: by the main types of economic activity, by the dynamics of changes in the economic and production system of the enterprise, by consequences for the subject of enterprise potential assessment, by the stages of economic activity, enterprise potential, etc. The obtained results make it possible to improve the understanding of the complex patterns that underlie the formation of the economic potential of enterprises.

The concept of failed state came to the fore with the end of the Cold War, the collapse of the USSR and the disintegration of Yugoslavia. Political violence is central in these discussions on the definition of the concept or the determination of its dimensions (indicators). Specifically, the level of political violence, the type of political violence and intensity of political violence has been broached in the literature. An effective classification of political violence can lead us to a better understanding of state failure phenomenon. By using Tilly’s classification of collective violence which is based on extent of coordination among violent actors and salience of short-run damage, the role played by political violence in state failure can be understood clearly. In order to do this, two recent cases, Iraq and Syria will be examined.

The article formulates main questions related to the concept of context. The issue of context is considered as a current-day interdisciplinary field of research. There are many definitions of context in dictionaries and in various humanities (including scientific disciplines). In connection with that issue various methodological approaches arise in the humanities, which can be designated by the umbrella term “contextual”. By the example of one of such approaches to the sociological poetics of the “Bakhtin’s circle”, the author substantiates the possibility of creating an interdisciplinary classification of contextual approaches. That classification may include scientific developments of different years and research fields, including: philosophical hermeneutics, a number of approaches to the Russian and foreign literary theory (M.M. Bakhtin, Yu.M. Lotman, B.M. Eichenbaum, F. Moretti, A. Compagnon, etc.), intellectual history, discourse analysis, etc.
