The objectives of this study are to describe the types of speech acts used in Jokowi’s campaign speeches, to elaborate the realization of Jokowi used illocutionary act in campaign speeches, to know the reason of using illocutionary act. This study was conducted by descriptive qualitative research. The data of the research are the utterances of Jokowi’s speeches. The source of the data was Jokowi’s campaign speeches. The technique for collecting data is documentary technique. The technique of data analysis was interactive model by using Miles and Huberman. The findings show all types of speech acts were used in Jokowi’s campaign speeches, namely:  locutionary act, illocutionary act can be classified into five parts; there were assertive, directive, commissive, expressive, declarative and the last types was perlocutionary act. The realization of illocutionary act used in Jokowi’s campaign speeches, the directive speech act was used in form of warning, commanding, promising, offering, questioning, requesting. The reasons of using illocutionary act in Jokowi’s campaign speeches are to point out or to identify what the speaker mean from his utterance, which influence of meaning and information of the speech and to get information clearly from Jokowi’s campaign speeches.   Keywords: speech acts, campaign, campaign speeches

AbstrakArtikel ini membahas satu jenis strategi penerjemahan yang berfokus pada penerjemahan pada level kata yang bersifat non-equivalent menurut Mona Baker. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan jenis strategi penerjemahan apa saja dalam taksonomi tersebut  yang diaplikasikan pada penerjemahan kata-kata non-equivalent yang ditemukan pada novel-novel Indonesia sebagai bahasa sumber ke dalam bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa sasaran; dan juga untuk mengidentifikasi apakah pesan yang terdapat pada kata-kata bersifat non-equivalent pada bahasa sumber tersampaikan sama pada bahasa sasaran. Metode yang digunakan untuk membahas aplikasi strategi penerjemahan ini adalah metode kualitatif-komparatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kata-kata yang bersifat non-equivalent diterjemahkan dengan menggunakan 7 dari 8 strategi penerjemahan yang ada dan secara keseluruhan strategi penerjemahan untuk kata non-equivalent mampu menyampaikan pesan yang terdapat pada kata-kata non-equivalent tersebut meskipun tidak semua secara detil.Kata kunci: strategi penerjemahan, kata non-equivalent, strategi penerjemahan Mona Baker AbstractSpeech act is the activity of uttering speech with a specific purpose. Research on speech acts has been done by many researchers before, but the number is still limited that reviewed the speech acts during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study discussed the types of speech acts on Instagram social media during the Covid-19 period. This study used a pragmatic approach with Searle's speech act theory (1979). The method used is descriptive qualitative. Based on the results of data analysis, researcher found that 3 types of speech acts, namely 1) Directive speech acts with the implicature of persuading and encouraging; 2) Representative speech acts with the implicature of commanding and challenging; 3) Expressive speech acts with the implicature of encouraging.Keywords: Covid-19, Pragmatic, Speech act

In communicating activities certainly can not be separated from the theory of speech acts. Speech acts as a form of communication event is not an event that happens by itself, but has a function, contains a specific purpose can cause influence or effect on the said partner. The speech acts is a theory that tries to study the meaning of language based on the relationship of speech with the actions performed by the speaker.Language is used by speakers to convey specific intentions to speech partners such as ordering, begging, asking, and etc.Such speech acts as speech acts are grouped into speech acts directive. Speech from a (speaker) is of course not merely the origin of speech, but it contains certain intentions.The classification of speech acting speech function are : competitive,convivial, collaborative, conflictive.The purpose of this study was to identify the function of speech acts of the nurse directive to the patient in the physiotherapy room at RSU. Haji Medan - North Sumatera.This research is a qualitative research using descriptive and comparative method. From the data analysis found the function of speech act directive, competitive 'compete' with its subfunctions to govern and ask; and collaborative functions 'in collaboration' with its subfunctions stating, teaching, reporting and announcing. From the discussion it is suggested that nurses use speech act directive that has indicators of politeness in Indonesian language so that the function of acting speech directive can be achieved in conveying the intent and purpose to the patient.

This research deals with the using of speech acts in Indonesia Lawyers Club (ILC): KPK vs Novanto: Berpacu dengan Waktu. The objectives of this research were: (1) to investigate the types of speech acts used by Karni Ilyas in ILC “KPK vs Novanto: Berpacu dengan Waktu”, (2) to describe the way of performing speech acts realized by Karni Ilyas, and (3) to explain the reasons why those types of speech acts are realized by Karni Ilyas. The research applied descriptive qualitative method. The source of data in this research was taken from Indonesia Lawyers Club (ILC) “KPK vs Novanto: Berpacu dengan Waktu” video. The instrument used for collecting the data was the observation by recorded the utterances of Karni from seven parts of videos. The data were clauses contained of Speech Acts used by Karni. The findings of this study showed that: 1) There were three types of speech acts, namely locutionary act, illocutinary act and perlocutionary act that utilized by Karni Ilyas in his utterances when discussion with all the guests in Indonesia Lawyers Club (ILC) “KPK vs Novanto: Berpacu dengan Waktu”. The dominant types of speech act was illocutionary act and the dominant classification was directive. 2) There were two ways in performing speech act used by Karni, namely direct and indirect speech. Direct speech was more dominant than indirect speech. 3) There were four reasons why Karni using speech act, namely to actuate, to entertain, to stimulate, and to inform. AbstrakTindak tutur adalah aktivitas mengujarkan tuturan dengan maksud tertentu. Penelitian mengenai tindak tutur telah banyak dilakukan oleh peneliti sebelumnya, namun jumlahnya masih terbatas yang mengkaji mengenai tindak tutur di masa pandemi Covid-19. Penelitian ini membahas mengenai jenis-jenis tindak tutur di media sosial Instagram pada masa Covid-19. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan pragmatik dengan teori tindak tutur Searle (1979). Metode yang digunakan berupa deskriptif kualitatif. Berdasarkan dari hasil analisis data, peneliti menemukan 3 jenis tindak tutur, yaitu 1) Tindak tutur direktif dengan implikatur membujuk dan menyemangati; 2) Tindak tutur representatif dengan implikatur memerintah dan memberi tantangan; 3) Tindak tutur ekspresif dengan implikatur menyemangati.Kata Kunci: Covid-19, Pragmatik, Tindak tutur  AbstractSpeech act is the activity of uttering speech with a specific purpose. The aimed of this study is to describe the functions and politeness strategies of command directive and requesting speech acts in Japanese business emails. In line with the objectives of the study, the method used was descriptive qualitative. The data source in this study is Japanese business email in the field of education. Then, the data were collected by referring to the note taking technique, the replace technique, and the determining element. The data analysis technique uses descriptive qualitative methods. The results showed that speakers use more politeness strategies to express the intention of command than request. In addition, it also found differences from the directive speech act for requesting and the directive speech act for commanding i.e. on the choice of the interlocutor to do or not do the speaker's wishes. In directive speech acts for request, the interlocutor to have more choices not to do what the speaker wants. Whereas the directive speech acts for command, the opponents feel burdened and have little choice not to do what the speaker wants

This research was descriptive qualitative research. It is aimed to classify the types of illocutionary use by Jokowidodo in first Indonesia presidential election debate 2019. It used a descriptive qualitative method by watching the debate, collecting data from the debate with references to the linguistics of theories derived from related literature sources. The data in this study was in the form of a speech used by Jokowidodo in Indonesia presidential election 2019 debate which contains elements of illocutionary speech acts. Based on the analysis, a number of things can be concluded. The writer found and analyzed 13 data of illocutionary acts. In this research, the writer has data on illocutionary acts which are used by the presidential election debate 2019, those are data 6 data was included to Assertive Illocutionary Speech Act, 3 data was Directive Illocutionary act, 3 data was Expressive Illocutionary Speech Act, and 1 data was Commissive illocutionary speech acts.

This goal of this study is to describe the types of directive illocutionary act and to find out the most dominant directives speech act performed by the characters in The Complex: Lockdown movie through the theory of Speech Act by Kreidler (1998) and supported by the theory from Searle (1979). In analyzing the data, descriptive qualitative method is used. This study found 73 data of directive illocutionary act performed by the characters in the movie. In addition, it was found the most dominant directives used is command with 27 (37%) occurences followed by question with 23 (32%) occurences. Both types of directive is the most commonly used because the characters are forced to do a certain task quickly with a limited time to think. That causes they gave command to other and asked question frequently during the emergency situation after several bio-weapon attacks. The least dominant types of directive speech act are found  namely; request with 16 (22%) occurences and followed by suggestion with 7 (9%) occurences.

This research deals with the types of illocutionary acts in Donald Trump’s Inaugural Speech. The research concerns with illocutionary act produced by Donald Trumps as a President of American. The aim of this research was to analyze the types of illocutionary speech act which was dominantly used in that speech. This research applied descriptive qualitative method and speech act theory by Yule. There were 63 utterances and the percentage of utterances were Representative 46%, Expressive 11%, Directive 16%, Commissive 12,7%, and Declarative 14,3%. The result showed that Donald Trump assert to the audience about the nation will be.It is found that Trump’s speech acts in his speech are intended as statement of fact and assertion. Disscussion of hopes implied in Trump’s speech acts. As seen on the table above, it can be seen that Trump hoped that his audiences would be persuaded to act

The research problems of this research is what are the types and functions of speech acts that appear in discussion activities on speaking learning of 3rd semester students of Polytechnic ATI Makassar. The methods in this research is a descriptive qualitative method. The subject of this research is the 3rd semester Politechnic ATI Makassar students in class discussion activities. The results of the study can be described as follows. There are several types of speech acts found. Direct and indirect speech acts are the two types of speech acts. This study aims to know how indirect speech acts are employed in the movie "SpongeBob SquarePants." It employs descriptive qualitative research to explain the main character's speech act types. There is currently a scarcity of studies examining speech act types in cartoon or animation films; yet, it is necessary. According to this study, the result of this article is: first, there are seventy-four discussions of indirect speech acts obtained from all characters in the movie SpongeBob SquarePants. Each dialogue in the film SpongeBob SquarePants can be deduced to reveal the meaning of indirect speech acts. Second, The reader can use the domain analysis indirect speech acts summary to help them understand each dialogue in this movie that has a different meaning. This stage permitted the main characters to say literal things to the listener. The main character did not make a difficult-to-understand statement to the listener. This research looks at Yule's theory's utterances of indirect speech activities. As a result, the outcome differed from the prior study, despite the same issue.
