Skill is the most important component in education which makes a person capable of earning his or her livelihood. The system of education takes care of the development of school skills among the children in the schools. But the spread of pandemic Covid-19 has drastically disrupted every aspects of human life including education and impacted the skill development process has also been impacted. It has created an unprecedented test on education. Outbreak of COVID-19 has impacted more than 120 crores of students and youths across the planet. In India, more than 32 crores of students have been affected by the various restrictions and the nationwide lockdown for COVID-19. In many educational institutions around the world, campuses are closed, and teaching-learning has moved online. In India many schools were quick to react but to a limited extend. While many schools in the cities have adapted to online teaching schools in the remotest areas did not have the resources to get on the starting grid. Here the India Foundation for Education Transformation moved in a contributed its bit.

The spread of pandemic Covid-19 has drastically disrupted every aspects of human life including education. It came as havoc for developing countries like India. It has compelled the human society to maintain social distancing and made people mandatory to sit indoor. It has significantly disrupted the education sector which is a critical determinant of economic future of a country. Many educational institutions around the world have closed their campuses and moved for online teaching-learning mode. In India, about 32 crore learners stopped to move schools/colleges and all educational activities brought to an end. The outbreak of Covid-19 has worked as a catalyst for the educational institutions to grow with digital technologies, which has never happened before. The educational institutions have managed to ensure the continuity of educational activities with digital technologies during the pandemic and are expecting the same trend to continue. This paper highlights some measures taken by Govt. of India to provide seamless education in the country during the pandemic Covid-19. Various challenges and opportunities created by Covid-19 on education are discussed. Some of the post Covid-19 trends which may allow imagining the new ways of teaching learning in India are outlined. Some fruitful suggestions are also pointed to carry out educational activities during the pandemic situation.

In many educational institutions around the world, campuses are closed and teaching-learning has moved online. Internationalization has slowed down considerably. In India, about 32 crore learners stopped to move schools/colleges and all educational activities brought to an end. Despite of all these challenges, the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) have reacted positively and managed to ensure the continuity of teaching-learning, research and service to the society with some tools and techniques during the pandemic. This article highlights on major impacts of Covid-19 on HEIs in India. Some measures taken by HEIs and educational authorities of India to provide seamless educational services during the crisis are discussed. Due to Covid-19 pandemic, many new modes of learning, new perspectives, new trends are emerged and the same may continue as we go ahead to a new tomorrow. So, some of the post Covid-19 trends which may allow imagining new ways of teaching learning of higher education in India are outlined. Some fruitful suggestions are also pointed to carry out educational activities during the pandemic situation.

Coronavirus pandemic has posed challenges in evaluating students’ performance in educational institutions all over the world. Therefore, university instructors may encounter some problems in evaluating their students fairly through online teaching since it was not an easy task before this worldly crisis. The current study aims at investigating the perspectives of instructors who teach translation courses at some Saudi universities towards the followed evaluation methods in teaching translation courses during Coronavirus pandemic. Two methods were used to collect data: simple observation and online questionnaire. The participants were 21 instructors from 10 Saudi universities. The findings of this study show that using machine translation and CAT tools by students in doing assessment tasks does not guarantee fairness among students during Coronavirus pandemic regardless of the nature of translation courses. In addition, online exams and assignments are less fair to show the individual differences among students compared with written exams before Coronavirus pandemic. To evaluate students’ performance in translation courses fairly, the participants of this study suggested some solutions such as modifying questions' patterns of some translation exams and assignments to cope with online teaching, emphasizing the importance of live sessions and online participation as assessment tasks for students during Coronavirus pandemic, using other evaluation methods such as live oral assessment, editing texts, multiple choice editing questions, etc. The study concludes with some recommendations for future research.

In Chapter I, a brief introduction to open source tools is presented. The discussion indicates that open source tools are necessary for an online teaching/learning system. As mentioned in Chapter I, this book will use the ADDIE model as a guideline for the development of an online teaching/learning system and online course materials. Along with the development process, the open source tools will be introduced to accomplish the tasks in each phase of the development. Chapter I points out that it is possible to use open source tools to develop an entire online teaching/learning system. However, the development process is complicated and involves various technologies. Therefore, before an online teaching/ learning system can be implemented, it is necessary to carefully design such a system and the development process should be thoroughly planned. The theory of instructional technology provides a guideline for developing a successful online teaching/learning system. It will be beneficial for the development of an online teaching/learning system if the developers of the system know how to apply the instructional technology theory to the development process.

<p>This research is motivated by the attitude of Muslim ambiguity in facing modernity which its existence is necessity and can not be rejected in any way. The product of modernity has roiled throughout the joints and pulse of human life without any rebellion. Because he is present with a friendly and pragmatic smile, so able to lull and make forget the impacts. The author formulates this research on the concept of modern education Mahmud Yunus and its relevance to modern education now and how its contribution to modern educational institutions in Indonesia. This study aims to get a picture of modern educational thinking Mahmud Yunus and its relevance to the birth of modern educational institutions in Indonesia. This research is library research, where the data obtained through primary data sources and secondary data, either through the source books of Mahmud Yunus figures directly or from reading materials and internet searching and interviews that the author describes by arranging them according to the theme and issues, especially issues related to the modernization of Islamic education in Indonesia. The concept of modern education Mahmud Yunus is a radical renewal of the education system by taking into account the needs and demands of society, without destroying the existing order. So the offer of modernization of education Mahmud Yunus, in the application of its implementation does not get opposition from anyone, both internal and ekster-nal. While his contribution to the birth of modern educational institutions in Indonesia; In the first place, institutional modernization, Mahmud Yunus is among those who pioneered the need to change the teaching system from the individual ones as applied in the pesantren using the sorogan or weton method. Secondly, the modernization in curriculum where Mahmud Yunus was the first to pioneer the existence of an integrated curriculum, a curriculum combining religious knowledge and general science in Islamic educational institutions, especially in developing Arabic teaching. Third, modernization in the field of learning, Mahmud Yunus is recognized by educational experts as a way hacker for the birth of new methods of Islamic education in Indonesia and he made a new teaching method that he introduced with the name al-thariqah al-mubasyarah (direct methode) that teaches various components science of Arabic. From the thought of Mahmud Yunus is found a new concept, namely; "ICT-based Modern Madrasahs" from the elaboration of the modernization concept both from the institutional side, the curriculum, the method of learning and producing a reliable educator in the hope of becoming a new paradigm for the world of Islamic education in the world and Indonesia in particular.</p><p class="keywords">Keywords: modern education, islamic education institution, integrated curriculum</p>

In conjunction with the development of technology, teaching in educational institutions around the world has also changed from traditional teaching, where blackboards and chalk were used, to modern teaching with blended or completely online learning environments. Online teaching became a necessity over the past year as the COVID-19 pandemic occurred throughout the world. One of the biggest problems that arose was the impossibility of students to work with equipment on the spot during laboratory exercises. In turn, many universities have used labs with physical devices that can be launched remotely through the Internet from anywhere. One such device is presented in this paper. An automatic device for the remote measurement of geometric tolerances, circularity, was developed and applied in the teaching process at the University of Novi Sad. The exercises were performed by students who remotely started and controlled the device and measured the deviation of the actual from the defined diameter of the work piece in the desired cross section. At the end of the semester, students completed an evaluation questionnaire and expressed satisfaction with the implementation of this exercise.

<div><p><em>Education systems in the world today are undergoing major shifts in their delivery systems to be able to accommodate shifting demands in the lifestyles of people. ICT has greatly influenced the way institutions operate in reaching and providing services to their clients. Many educational institutions have adapted their situations to meet the work demands and changing trends in education by adopting e-learning as a mechanism to reach the students who may have no time to sit in class due to their nature of work. TVET systems in Africa are slowly and steadily also starting to move towards implementing e-learning in their teaching learning process. This paper gives insight into the potential and situation of e-learning in TVET institutions in developing countries in Africa and points out major recommendations on how to improve in order to inform policy makers and other stakeholders in the TVET sector.</em></p></div>


“Be the change you want to see in the world.” The petrifying and severe impact of COVID-19 has shaken the world to its core. Later, most of the Governments around the world have temporarily closed educational institutions in an attempt to stop the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. In India, 320 million students have been affected by COVID-19 school closures, and though the government quickly recommended shifting to “online teaching.” Many of the government institutions are lacking of facilities to conduct online classes. Many teachers are to be updating them to challenge this situation otherwise leads to job threat. This paper with an objective to study out whether the faculties are ready to face challenges due to online teaching and to identify who among male and female are feeling more threat for their jobs due to online teaching.

The first inventions made by the first humans on earth to survive started the beginning of first scientific activities. The first instruments made of bone and stone are a product of this philosophy. The fact that human beings begin to lead a life based on settled life means the world science develops rapidly. Because the settled life enabled the establishment of villages and cities for world civilization and the commencement of trade. Along with all these things, concepts such as writing, books, literature, library, astronomy, mathematics, chemistry and physics began to enter into human life. The discovery of mining revealed the facts like armed soldiers, armies and states. Along with the concept of the state, scientific activities have become more systematic and more widespread. Because it is known that states supported scientific activities within their borders. For example, the creation of the writing by the Sumerian civilization, the preparation of textbooks, the development of the calendar, the development of medical science in Egypt, the invention of the compass by the Chinese civilization, the opening of the museum in Alexandria in the Hellenistic Age and the starting of the studies about anatomy in this museum, the opening of a three different educational institutions in Rome, were all happening as a result of the encouragement and support of the respective states. In this study, we tried to put forth that all the scientific activities in the Old Era the basis of the modern science as well.Extended English abstract is in the end of PDF (TURKISH) file. ÖzetYeryüzündeki ilk insanların hayata kalabilmek için yaptıkları ilk icatlar aynı zamanda ilk bilimsel faaliyetleri başlamaktadır. Kemik ve taştan yapılan ilk aletler bu felsefenin bir ürünüdür. İnsanoğlunun yerleşik yaşama dayalı bir hayat sürdürmeye başlaması ise dünya biliminin hızla gelişmesi anlamına gelmektedir. Çünkü yerleşik yaşam dünya uygarlığı için köylerin ve kentlerin kurulması ve ticaretin başlaması demekti. Bütün bunların yanı sıra yerleşik yaşamla birlikte yazı, kitap, edebiyat, kütüphane, astronomi, matematik, kimya ve fizik gibi kavramlar insan hayatına girmeye başladı. Madenciliğin keşfi ise silahlı askerler, ordular ve devletler gibi olguları ortaya çıkardı. Devlet kavramıyla birlikte bilimsel faaliyetler daha sistematik hâle geldi ve daha da yaygınlaştı. Çünkü devletlerin kendi sınırları içerisinde bilimsel aktiviteleri teşvikleri söz konusuydu. Örneğin yazının Sümer uygarlığı tarafından icat edilmesi, ders kitaplarının hazırlanması, takvimin geliştirilmesi, Mısır’da tıp biliminin oldukça gelişmesi, pusulanın Çin uygarlığı tarafından icat edilmesi, Helenistik Çağ’da İskenderiye kentinde müzenin açılması ve bu müzede anatomi alanında çalışmaların başlatılması ile Roma’da üç farklı eğitim kurumunun açılması gibi konuların tamamı dönemin söz konusu devletlerinin teşvik ve destekleri sonucunda gerçekleşen olgulardı. Çalışmamızda Eski Çağdaki bütün bu bilimsel faaliyetlerin aynı zamanda modern bilimin temelini oluşturduğunu ortaya koymaya çalıştık.
