Summary A definition of physical culture highlights knowledge OF and FOR physical exercise, which enables transformation of personality from what it is into what it can be. This true in itself – that physical culture employs knowledge to achieve it, hides an array of its possibilities. This knowledge can certainly be of various levels and courses and based on different systems of values. And when knowledge is based on different systems of values, then the transformation of personality – from the real into the possible level can develop in one or the other direction that is, in a positive or a negative direction. At a time when money is a measure of everything, one can readily choose the wrong side in which, according to neoliberalism – everything is allowed. There is no place for orthodox Christian ethics in such environment. This is why we wish to remind you that a lack of orthodox Christian ethics in the science and the profession emerging from the science and supported by global ideas which like a tsunami tear down foundations of civilizational values can lead to worrysome collapse of these basic values. Man would lose most from this collapse. Indeed, our profession is focused on man and his bodily movements – exercise. Therefore, theory and practice of physical culture must be supported by orthodox Christian ethics. In theory, it can be found in theo-anthropocentrism whereas it is an open book in the practice of physical education, sports and recreation; the situation is different. It is because of this diversity that we will look at different approaches both in theory and practice of physical culture.

AbstractPhysical culture with the man in its centre has always been an integral part of social events and troubles in various times and ages. Regardless the need to adjust its theory and practice to the given requirements and social circumstances of the time it has always been stretched between rationalism and theanthropos‐centrism. Rationalism and its right wing the Enlightenment had formed deep furrows in the area of physical culture, (too) since the age of Pythagoras, Epicurus, Plato and later Origen and the Neoplatonists and Descartes' ''I think, therefore I am''. The great Njegoš made a clear judgement of the general effects of Rationalism in his work The Ray of the Microcosm: ''You, Pythagoras and you, Epicurus, ... You have degraded a being a man.'' Indeed, only a glimpse at today's events and the development of sport and physical exercise is enough to prove his words to be true. On the other hand, thenathropos‐centrism with its theory and practice bring back hope that not all is lost, when everything is lost (R.P. Nogo). Theanthroposcentrism or, God‐man centrism as it can be called, approaches man with Love and belief that physical exercises is divine food for the human being. And that the food is given to him so that he can master the good as gifted from the Creator, to stand firm, get strong and divinized. Therefore, we can say that Rationalism and Thanthropos‐centrism are two views of and two approaches to man (even) in modern times. Behind the first one there is pridewhereas behind the second one there isLove. It is up to man himself to choose his way.

Summary The 80th anniversary of the birth of dr Milivoje Matić is a trigger for a reassessment of his contribution to physical culture. By individually analysing Matić’s contributions in each of his works between 1961 and 1998, we come to the conclusion that in some of his publications exist sparks of “philosophical fragments”, which are necessary for comprehending the author’s belief that Matić has made it possible to discuss a possibility of a philosophical aspect and a constitution of the philosophy of physical culture in our country. M. Matić gives pointers which signify an event which would be prognostic on a permanent progress in our profession, in the context of education as a whole, domestically and abroad. In this discussion, the topic of Matić’s contribution to the analysis of physical education in the philosophy of physical culture, and in the context of the sign of direction in the domestic education reform, the domestic physical education reform should be observed and analysed from the aspect of transversal connections which repeatedly link deliberation of the theory and practice of physical education.

Summary In a theoretical essay authors have conducted an analysis of the papers by one of the most significant theoreticians and practitioners of methodology of physical education in Serbia, full-time professor Milivoje Matić, PhD. Four publications by this author found themselves to be the focus of the analysis: “Physical Education Class” (1978), “Axiological and Methodological Bases of Revalorization of Physical Movement-Exercise” (1982), “Physical Education - Introduction to Expert and Theoretical Improvement” (1990) and “General Theory of Physical Culture” (2005). With the application of theoretical analysis and content analysis of said books, and relying on theoretical conceptions of leading theoreticians and philosophers, authors have interpreted the potential contribution of Milivoje Matić to the theory and practice of physical education, as well as to the general theory of physical culture. “Matić's Methodics of Morals”, modelled on Kant's deontological ethics theory can be considered an original contribution to the theory and practice of physical education. In the area of general theory of physical culture Milivoje Matić has elevated the theory of physical culture to the level of philosophical contemplation by introducing elements of philosophical thinking into theoretical discussions, which is his original contribution to the development of the general theory of physical culture.

The aim of the study was to develop and experimentally test the process of motor re-habilitation of children with Down syndrome in the practice of their adaptive physical education. To achieve it, such re-search methods were used as the design and modeling of the pedagogical process, the as-certaining and forming experiment, medical and pedagogical testing of the specifics of the development of students. The study involved about 80 children with Down syndrome aged 7-12 years. The results of the work carried out were the definition of the main directions of motor rehabilitation, the technology of this process, the structural elements of the pedagogical process of adaptive physical education, the algorithm of its organization and implementation, the classification of physical exercises, data on morphofunctional development, motor competence of children with Down syndrome. The experimental data obtained confirmed the possibility of motor rehabilitation of children with Down syndrome by means of physical culture.

This article presents a theoretical critique of the employment provisions of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) (1995), focusing on the definition of disability. It argues that the underpinning medical assumption of the statutory definition of disability is detrimental to the achievement of disability equality in the workplace and is problematic for practitioners and Employment Tribunals. In particular there are four areas of significant confusion arising from the need for medical evidence, the lack of congruence between managerial and legal definitions, the focus on the negative aspects of disability and the fact that disability is often hidden. By exploring these four themes and drawing on comparisons with the other equality laws, the article concludes that the definition of disability contained in the DDA (1995) contradicts many of the principles of the liberal equality framework that underpins it. Finally the article considers the public policy implications and suggests a new statutory approach.

This study considers the implications for teachers of physical education of adopting physical literacy as the focus of their work. These implications arise from the philosophical underpinning of the concept, from the definition of physical literacy and are in line with the mission of the International Physical Literacy Association. In the first section of this study, recommendations stemming from the philosophical roots of the concept will be outlined in brief. The other three sections will demonstrate how this philosophical basis and the definition of physical literacy should inform, first, lesson and unit content; second, teaching approaches; and, finally, curriculum planning. Unpacking the implications and what physical literacy looks like in practice is essential if teachers are to begin to incorporate physical literacy within their practice.

Adaptive physical culture and adaptive sports are the sphere of life in which the most successful is the socialization of disabled people and people with disabilities, their integration into society, the development of rehabilitation potential - as a set of biological capabilities of social abilities and psychological aspirations, improving the quality of life (Evseev, & Shapkova, 2000). Given the opportunities available in sports for social rehabilitation and integration of people with disabilities, in recent years, almost all over the world are developing active efforts to organize and develop adaptive sports among people with disabilities (Evseev, & Shapkova, 2000). In many developed countries, comprehensive programs of physical culture and sports work among the disabled, including children (Dmitriev, 2002).Comprehensive rehabilitation - as a process of ensuring the readiness of a person with health and disability to implement a lifestyle that would not contradict the lifestyle of healthy (normally developing) people requires the mandatory use of exercise adapted to a specific disease or defect of motor activity. Physical rehabilitation is the basis, the basis of any type of rehabilitation (social-labor, social-domestic, socio-cultural, etc.). This is due to the fact that man is indivisible biological, psychological and social, which are in the closest relationship and interaction. Human motor activity is embedded in genes and is associated with a fundamental property of a living organism - biological adaptation to living conditions and living conditions. However, modern living and working conditions have reduced to almost zero all human physical activity, created a situation of unclaimed physical condition.Hypodynamia and hypokinesia are indispensable attributes of modern civilized life have become one of the main factors causing the deterioration of public health. Reducing the volume and intensity of physical activity, low costs of muscular work, simplification and impoverishment of human motor activity leads to negative results in the functioning of both internal organs and systems of man and his psyche. And if a healthy person reduces his physical activity to an unacceptable level, then only he is to blame. The responsibility for forced hypodynamics and hypokinesia of children with disabilities, whose natural physical activity is limited and they need targeted assistance and special conditions, rests entirely with parents, doctors and other professionals, including adaptive physical education. The problem here is that in the mass consciousness and even among specialists (physicians, psychologists, representatives of traditional physical culture, etc.) the idea of the need for mandatory restriction of movement, motor activity in almost any disease, stereotypes of faith only in pharmacological and other medical means and methods of treatment and prevention, in omnipotent additives, stimulants, activators, fat burners, etc. This is due, on the one hand, the insufficient level of culture of society and the individual in the field of anthropology, its physicality and psyche, and on the other - the massive advertising campaigns of manufacturers of these goods. The scientific and medical literature examines in detail the other negative changes that occur in the human body due to hypodynamics and hypokinesia, from the cellular to the body level, describes in detail the so-called motorvisceral reflexes and other mechanisms of disease, the main cause of which there is immobility.Being one of the most important factors of the educational and cultural process, adaptive physical culture is a universal means of humanization, as it realizes the reproduction of human personality as a whole in its physical and spiritual unity. In the process of adaptive physical culture a person not only socializes and is formed (strengthens and improves residual health, corrects its defects, develops compensation mechanisms, learns certain social roles, functions, etc.), but also “forms and creates the world”, forms and “conquers” the social space - first self-determined, creates its own understanding, vision, sense of the world, designs and builds its own activities, social environment. Thus, adaptive physical culture and, especially adaptive sports, are important factors in the socialization of people with disabilities and people with disabilities, their integration into society. However, these factors, which are always realized, their use lags behind both the needs and the possibilities of today.

Didactic possibilities in physical education classes: the topic of “physical exercise and health” in high school. The study results from an experience on thematizing the topic “physical exercise and health”, as developed by members of the PIBID in a school which offers professional education in high school in the city of Crato, in Ceará, Brazil. The purpose of the study was to describe and analyze a Didactic Unit used for teaching as well as the teaching-learning relationship which was taken to class under the topic of “Physical Exercise and Health”. This is a report from a qualitative, exploratory in nature, experience grounded on a collaborative-like action involving the physical education teacher and the trainees participating in the PIBID project. There are possibilities in combining theory and practice and involving the high school students in an active way in the teaching-learning process. The demonstration of the students’ difficulties revealed the necessity of making adaptations regarding the motor demands requested from them, which makes it necessary to read the reality and the pedagogical intervention as complementary. It was identified that it is possible to conduct a pedagogical intervention process in physical education which is grounded on collaborating, on sharing experiences, on being critical, and on associating theory and practice and the notion of human movement going further than the bio mechanical aspects.
