The success of the applied study can be achieved if the cooperation and coordination between stakeholder goes well so that there is an acceleration of the spread of innovation and the sustainable adoption of agricultural innovations. The study aims to analyze the correlation between the characteristics of the communication and database media, the characteristics of individual, and the actions of collective and social networks with the effectiveness of stakeholder communication on the applied study of salinity tolerant paddy cultivation. The study was conducted on February-March 2020 in BPTP West Java and Pangandaran Regency. Determination of the respondents carried out by using census method with a total of 33 people. The analysis using Ucinet 6 and rank Spearman correlation test. The results showed the variables that have a significant correlation with effectiveness of stakeholder communication for satisfaction in the process are characteristics of communication and database media includes the availability of infrastructure and facilities, and the amount of media communication, and variable of individual characteristics, it is the formal education, significant correlation for quality of information are social networks variables, there are density and closeness centrality.

The subject of this research is the specifics, forms and functions of interaction in social media groups between the representatives of ethnic communities. The goal consists in determination of the role of social networks in adaptation of ethnocultural communities of St. Petersburg. The research is based on the polling technique for acquisition of information on the cognitive, emotional, and behavioral state of a person. The survey was conducted via distribution of questionnaires among the representatives of ethnic groups. The article also employs the method of systematic scientific observation over the social media groups, topic raised therein, as well as reading and analysis of the comments. The scientific novelty of this work consists in outlining of the nature, trends and development prospects of cross-cultural communications as the channel for ethnocultural interaction.  The main conclusions, which touch upon users from various ethnic communities who do not have enough experience in organization of activity of social media groups, demonstrate that it causes the loss of the sense of security, accumulation of prejudices and escalation of interethnic conflicts, as well as preference of the with restricted access, which contributes to lock down of the group and impedes adaptation in the accepting society. Stabilization of situation can be achieved by improvement of the quality of content posted in the social media, as well as level of their administration.

PurposeThis paper, grounded on social capital and social networking theory, examines how postgraduate students in Ghana cultivate and utilise social resources towards career development.Design/methodology/approachFollowing a qualitative study design, the authors recruited and conducted interviews with postgraduate student-workers undertaking a two-year Master of Science in International Business.FindingsThere was an active engagement and consciously pre-plan mobilisation of social resources and utilisation of social resources among the postgraduates. Despite the diverse processes of social capital development identified, four important key themes emerged underpinning social capital mobilisation and utilisation: (1) the recognition of the importance of social capital acquisition, (2) the strong link between social capital and individual successes in employment and business opportunities, (3) the importance of the utilisation of social resources for emotional support and (4) the use of social capital to reinforce the individual social identity and recognition of an individual's worth.Practical implicationsThe authors offer a theoretical and practical contribution with a frame of understanding by demonstrating that there is more to social capital than economic gain.Social implicationsUnlike the findings from prior research in Africa, the strong institutional and cultural conditions did not constrain the key force of education and employability as drivers in attainment and social positioning. This is an interesting and positive finding from the research, especially in terms of the importance of providing educational opportunities to overcome institutional and cultural barriers to workforce participation and career development.Originality/valueSocial networks contribute to career success, and while the participants used social networks that reinforced ethnic and religious bonds, there is the opportunity to develop networks through other identity processes, especially education. Formal education imparts more than formal skills and qualifications. It provides the opportunity to access networks that transcend personal identity such as ethnicity and to get support for career development.

When analysing drivers affecting the farm performance, the presence of different technologies should be taken into account. We assume that the technology used by crop farms is not the same for all producers and therefore we use latent class model to identify technological classes at first. Class definition is based on multidimensional classification and determination of indices given by the values of individual components. The principal components analysis is applied to estimate significant and robust weights for the index components. FADN (Farm Accountancy Data Network) database, Czech crop farms data from 2005 to 2017 were used and three groups of technology classes of farms were identified with a determinant influence of the structure index and localisation. The other indices characterise sustainability, innovation, technology, diversification, and individual characteristics. Three distinct classes of crop farms were found, one major class and two minor classes. Family driven farms are usually smaller farms in terms of acreage. Highly sustainable crop farms are most likely located in lower altitudes and not in less-favoured areas. Innovative farms are also likely to be more productive. The results indicate that agricultural production farms with a more sustainable way of farming are most likely to be more productive.

One hundred forty-five Vietnamese boat refugees were interviewed on arrival and after three years in Norway. The integration into the labor market was poor and the rate of unemployment was relatively high (16%). Eighty-two (63%) were members of the labor force, the rest being students (n=41) or housewives (n=6). Both loss of social status in Vietnam in 1975 and experiences of war trauma were independently related to labor force participation, when age, sex and mental health were controlled for. The risk of unemployment was increased among men and among refugees with low formal education and with no accompanying spouse. The results indicate that war trauma may have an impact on career choice and integration into the labor market which is independent of mental health. Future immigration policies should probably improve the refugees’ opportunities to establish intraethnic social networks to facilitate job finding and entrepreneurship.

AbstractThe lithium problem in Ap-CP stars has been, for a long time, a subject of debate. Individual characteristics of CP stars, such as high abundance of the rare-earth elements presence of magnetic fields, complicate structure of the surface distribution of chemical elements, rapid oscillations of some CP-stars, make the detection of the lithium lines and the determination of the lithium abundance, a difficult task. During the International Meeting in Slovakia in 1996, the lithium problem in Ap-CP stars was discussed. The results of the Li study carried out in CrAO Polosukhina (1973–1976), the works of Hack & Faraggiana (1963), Wallerstein & Hack (1964), Faraggiana et al. (1992–1996) formed the basis of the International project ‘Lithium in the cool CP-stars with magnetic fields’. The main goal of the project was, using systematical observations of Ap-CP stars with phase rotation in the spectral regions of the resonance doublet Li I 6708 Å and subordinate 6104 Å lithium lines with different telescopes, to create a database, which will permit to explain the physical origin of anomalous Li abundance in the atmospheres of these stars.

This study was conducted to determine opinions of a group of academicians about social media communication. The study was designed as a descriptive study in the qualitative design using semi-structured questions. The study was conducted with a total of 12 academicians in the 24-48 age range in the health faculty of a state university in Turkey. As a result of the study, two main themes were created as positive sides of communication through social media and negative sides of communication through social media. Determination of opinions of academicians about social media communication may be important for planning the curriculum including both positive and negative effects of social media communication in the university education.   Keywords: Academician; communication; education; social media communication.

We considered the problem of formation of personal brand through content of social networks. Based on modern works on personal branding and classification proposed by image-making specialists, we considered strategies and technologies for creating a personal brand by two creative personalities in a comparative aspect: P. Drangoy and A. Vorobyov. We understood a personal brand as a complex of images and associations that is actualized in the minds of people when mentioning the name of a certain person. We modeled P. Drangi and A. Vorobyov's personal brands by determining the competencies, standards and style that they broadcast in the Internet space; key image characteristics of both artists are analyzed, we considered image in four dimensions: visual, verbal, context and event. We used the comparative analysis method and the content analysis method as the basic ones. The material for the study was content posted by musicians on personal official pages on social networks. The appeal to this content made it possible to determine the general in building the image of the star of the modern scene, taking into account the individual characteristics of each musician. In conclusion, we made the conclusion about the ability of an account on a social network to influence the artist's image, his concert activity and career trajectory.
