The present study attempts to explore the differences in Academic Achievement and Psychological Well Being and its components – Satisfaction, Efficiency, Sociability, Mental Health, and Interpersonal Relations in low and moderate level of hemoglobin of urban College female students. It also tries to find out how hemoglobin, Psychological well –being and academic achievement correlate to each other. For this study 200 (100 low hemoglobin level   and 100 moderate hemoglobin level) college female students were selected by random sampling method. This sample is collected from the project ‘Health awareness and hemoglobin improvement programme’, which is being collaboratively conducted by ‘ Akshyabhasha , MESA, U.S.A. and Smt. M.G. Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Sangli, Maharashtra, India. Psychological Well-Being Scale was used to collect the data. Students’ academic achievement was collected through college record and hemoglobin level of female students was collected from project record. Data was analyzed by using independent‘ t ’ test and Pearson’s correlation coefficient. The finding of the study revealed significant differences between low hemoglobin and moderate hemoglobin groups regarding efficiency and mental health. No significant difference was observed on satisfaction, sociability and interpersonal relations. It is also found that there is significant difference between low hemoglobin and moderate hemoglobin groups on academic achievement. The study revealed positive correlation between hemoglobin and academic achievement and Psychological well-being and academic achievement. Moderate hemoglobin level creates more efficiency, better mental health and good academic achievement in female students. One could say that there is significant role hemoglobin plays in Psychological well being and academic achievement of college female students. Anemia is widely prevalent in all the states if India among all age groups. In India, college girls contribute major portion of population. It has been reported that 80%female population has hemoglobin deficiency, due to illiteracy of female, family structure, status of women, diet habits, gender discrimination and various superstitions. The deficiency of hemoglobin affects physical and mental health, general behavior and academic performance of students. This study is useful to educational managements, counselors, parents, students and Government also. In the development of student’s personality physical as well as Psychological health is essential. This research findings will create awareness about physical and mental health among people and society.

Objectives: Thalassemia major (TM) is a chronic hematological disease that can have deep effects on patients’ mental health and psychological well-being. So, the present study was conducted to determine the effects of happiness training on the psychological well-being of TM patients. Methods: This quasi-experimental study with a pre/post-test design was performed on 52 patients with TM in Zabol city (Iran) from August to December 2020. The patients were randomly categorized into experimental and control groups. In the experimental group, happiness training was performed in eight sessions, each for 60 minutes. The control group received routine care. The data collection tool was the Ryff's Scale of Psychological Well-being (RSPWB). Data were analyzed by SPSS 16 statistical software using descriptive (mean and standard deviation) and inferential (paired and independent t-test) statistics. Results: Regarding the psychological well-being score at the pre-test stage, there was no statistically significant difference between the intervention (74.92 ± 6.36) and control (74.57 ± 5.83) groups (p = 0.83). After the intervention; however, a statistically significant difference was observed between the two groups in terms of psychological well-being (p <0.001). Also, a statistically significant difference was seen comparing the psychological well-being score between the pre- and post-intervention phases in the experimental (p = 0.01) but not control (p = 0.12) group. Conclusion: The results of this study showed that happiness training improved TM patients’ psychological well-being. Therefore, this type of training can be used as an appropriate educational strategy to improve psychological well-being in these patients.Keywords: Happiness; Education; Mental Health; Thalassemia.

The outburst of COVID-19 influenced the lives of all segment of society as people were requested to self-quarantine in their homes to stop the outspread of the virus. The lockdown had consequential impacts on mental health, triggering psychological problems encompassing frustration, stress, and depression. The outbreak of Covid-19 has significantly affected the lives of all parts of the society. One of the most instant changes launched was the closure of educational institutions to decelerate the spreading of the virus. Students no longer had availability of institution-based physical activities such as physical education, recess, and walking to/from universities/colleges/school. Inadequate physical activities and enormous sedentary behavior amid students exhibits a noteworthy problem because health behavior patterns can result in heightened risk for a number of hazardous health conditions (e.g., overweight/obesity, type II diabetes, and metabolic syndrome) in later. The objective of this study was to explore the pervasiveness of physical and mental health condition among Bangladeshi students during the COVID-19 pandemic. It also focuses on recognizing the stimulus of various states of physical and mental conditions throughout COVID-19 pandemic. The cross sectional data was gathered by means of interviews or self-responses among the university students from various districts of Bangladesh on July to August 2020. The study was performed with structured questionnaire. To reduce threats of Covid-19 infection, in this investigation, participants were interviewed over telephone instead of face to face interaction. In order to explore the effects of this pandemic on the lives of students, we performed a survey in which a total of 576 participants were participated. In this survey, among them 377 (66%) are male and 197 (34%) female. It was discovered that 92% of participants appreciate participating in physical activities & rest of them (8%) don’t like to participate in physical activities. In addition, our study also revealed 46% of the students having trouble in sleep and 45% students feels concentration problem. The findings of this study show that greater numbers of the students are not in sound physical or mental conditions. They are bored, helpless, anxious and depressed than previous.  This study shows that the mental conditions of female students are more affected by Covid-19 compared to male students. 82% of female students are stressed about their study, future life and so on. 46% female students are feeling helpless, 61% become upset and 60% feel bored during lockdown and close of education institution. COVID-19 is striking threat both on physical and mental health since its outbreak. During this challenging time, it is necessary to continue taking care of physical and mental health.

Abstract Introduction: This study aims to determine the level of social-emotional health of church school students and relationships among the variables of social-emotional health and psychological well-being. Methods: The research group consisted of 73 church school students in Presov Region. The data collection tools were the Social – Emotional Health Survey for secondary education (SEHS-S) and the Scale of Psychological Well-Being (PWB). The presented quantitative study has a correlation character with the comparative questions and exploratory - verification design. Results: The findings of the study showed that there is a strong positive correlation between overall social-emotional health referred to covitality and psychological well-being. Strong and moderate correlations were found among domains and psychological indicators of social-emotional health and dimensions of psychological well-being. A domain belief in others strongly correlates with positive relations with others. A strong correlation has been found between the indicator of peer support and the dimension of positive relations with others. The findings showed a moderately large, statistically significant difference in the level of belief in self in favor of males compared to females. Small and medium-sized differences between males and females were also found at the level of psychological indicators. The level of overall social-emotional health increases with the increase in the mastery of the environmental mastering and positive relations with others, which explains 35% of the data variance. Discussion: Research indicates relationships between the social-emotional health and psychological well-being as well as among dimensions, domains and indicators. The results support previous findings of other authors. Furthermore, the results showed a significant difference in the level of belief in self domain in favour of males compared to females. This finding indicates that males have higher self-confidence while compared to females. Limitations: There are certain limitations in the research, which include usage of non-standardized methods on Slovak population and a low level of reliability for Psychological Well-being Scale. Among other limitations, we include the time of data collection, which took place during the last class at the end of the week. Conclusion: Mental Health is about more than mental illness. Being mentally healthy and feeling well is important. To measure and identify elements of mental health may be useful to comprehend and promote psychological strengths of a person. A value of the paper lies in findings concerning social-emotional health of church school students, which contributed to the standardization of SEHS-S in Slovakia. Nevertheless, social-emotional health of Slovak students should not be neglected and further research on a larger sample is needed.

The aim of this study is to investigate whether people who exercise regularly have higher levels of psychological well-being at work. Doing physical exercise is a habit that not only has consequences for physical and mental health, but it can also have positive consequences for organizations because physical exercise makes it easier for the employee to recover from physical, mental, and emotional effort during the workday, thus showing higher levels of engagement the next day. Through the analysis of structural equation models in a sample of 485 workers from different Spanish and Latin American companies, this study shows that subjects who exercise more have higher levels of vigor in physical exercise, which is positively related to high levels of well-being at work. This means that organizations that promote activities related to physical exercise among their employees are building a process of resource recovery, which, through the vigor of these activities, makes workers feel less stressed and more satisfied, thus experiencing greater well-being at work. Therefore, at a practical level, these results suggest that the practice of physical exercise is a tool for organizations that want to promote their employees’ psychological well-being.

The study was undertaken to study the psychological well being of male and female college students of district Jalna (M.S.). The sample of the study Consisted 100 college students (50 male students and 50 female students). Randomly secreted from Difference College of Jalna District. Devendra Singh Sisodia and Pooja Choudhary by psychological wellbeing scale was used data collection. The data collected was statistically treated by using mean, SD and one way ANOVA. The findings of the study revealed that there is significant difference between male and female college students on psychological well-being. Furthermore the results highlight that female student has high psychological well-being, efficiency, mental health and interpersonal relations as compared to male students. Male students have high satisfaction and sociability than female college students.

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between hope and psychological well-being among the students of Farhangian University using a descriptive correlational research method. All students of Farhangian University of Zanjan province in the academic year of 2018-19 were considered and 324 of them were selected as the research sample. Hope scale Schneider (1991) and psychological well-being scale of Ryff (1989) were used as research tools. using SPSS 21 software, Pearson correlation coefficient test, stepwise regression, ANOVA and independent t-test were used to analyze the data. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between hope and psychological well-being and this includes their components too (p <0.01). There is no significant difference between hope and psychological well-being among students based on gender (P> 0.05). Also, the results of stepwise regression indicated that hope and motivational hope could predict psychological well-being (p <0.01). Therefore, it can be concluded that in order to improve the psychological well-being of students, their hope should be increased in a way.

Aim of the research is to find out the psychological Well being among B.ed college students, so investigator selected two groups one is male and other is female, both groups have 120 students. In each group has 60 male and other one groups has 60 female students. Data were collected from different collages of v.v.nagar city. Scale was use for data collection is personal datasheet and psychological Well being scale developed by Bhogale and Prakash (1995), 2×2 factorial design was used and data were analysis by ANOVA test. Result show, There is no significant difference between the Psychological Well being among male and female B.ed college student. There is no significant difference between the Psychological well-being among urban and rural B.ed college student. There is no significant difference between the effect of interaction on Psychological Well being among type of sex and type of area of B.ed college student.

Abstract University student’s mental health has to get more attention because they are more vulnerable in suffering psychological problems compared to general population. The aim of this study is to figure out the prevalence of mental health status of students using the two continua model. Mental health symptoms were measured by the MHC-LF that comprised emotional well-being (?= 0,843), psychological well-being (?= 0,807), and social well-being (?= 0,831); whereas psychological distress was identified using the HSCL-25 that measured anxiety (?= 0,910) and depression (?= 0,890).  A total of 514 undergraduate students was involved using convenience sampling. The descriptive statistics showed that students are categorised as flourishing 32,10%, moderate mentally healthy 65,95%, and languishing 1,95%.  Moreover, the MANOVA test statistics found that there is a significant difference in levels of depression and anxiety between flourishing, moderate mentally healthy and languishing.  This study implies that the university should provide the mental health intervention to help students in dealing with psychological distress, and to increase their mental health into flourishing.Keywords: Mental health; Psychological distress; Two continua model; University student. AbstrakIsu kesehatan mental di kalangan mahasiswa perlu mendapat perhatian karena mahasiswa merupakan kelompok populasi yang rentan mengalami masalah psikologis. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan two continua model, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui prevalensi tipe kesehatan mental mahasiswa. Indikator sehat mental diukur melalui kuesioner Mental Health Continuum-Long Form yang terdiri dari 3 skala: emotional well-being (?= 0,843), psychological well-being (?= 0,807), dan social well-being (?= 0,831).  Indikator psikopatologis diukur menggunakan skala Hopkins Symptom Check List-25 yang terdiri dari skala kecemasan (?= 0,910) dan skala depresi (?= 0,890). Sebanyak 514 mahasiswa menjadi responden dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik sampling convenience. Dengan analisis statistik deskriptif diketahui 32.10% mahasiswa termasuk dalam kategori sehat mental flourishing, 66,95% moderate mentally healthy dan 1,95% languishing. Uji statistik MANOVA menemukan perbedaan tingkat kecemasan dan depresi antara kelompok sehat mental yang berbeda. Implikasi hasil penelitian ini terkait dengan program intervensi kesehatan mental mahasiswa yang bersifat kuratif, protektif, maupun promotif untuk meningkatkan keberfungsian psikologis secara lebih optimal. Kata kunci: Distres psikologis; Mahasiswa; Sehat mental; Two Continua Model

The study aims to explore the effect of positive psychological intervention (fun activities combined with positive mental health education) on the well-being, 2-week illness prevalence, and salivary immunoglobulin A of empty nesters. Ninety-two empty nesters were divided into intervention ( n = 49) and control ( n = 43) groups. The empty nesters in the intervention group performed the intervention in addition to routine community activities. The intervention group scored significantly higher on well-being ( p< .05) compared with the control group after intervention. A week after intervention, salivary immunoglobulin A of the intervention group ( p< .05) was higher than that before intervention. Meanwhile, the difference in salivary immunoglobulin A in the control group before and after intervention was not statistically significant. 2-week illness prevalence in both groups did not exhibit a significant difference ( p> .05). Results indicate that positive psychological intervention can effectively increase the well-being and salivary immunoglobulin A of empty nesters and improve their physical and mental health.

Well-being is the state of being happy, healthy and prosperous. Well-being or welfare is a general term for the condition of an individual or group, for example their social, economic. Psychological, spiritual or medical state:  high well being means that, in some sense, the individual’s or group’s experience is positive while low well- being is associated with negative happenings. Well-being is equated with the experience of pleasure and the absence of pain over time. The less psychological pain an individual is experiencing the more he or she is going to expenence well-being. When someone is experiencing positive well-being they are also experiencing a few other things. It involves a sense of self-fulfilment, which is the feeling of being happy and one is doing something that fully uses your abilities and talents. The feeling of having a purpose in life and connection with others are also contributors to the idea of well-being when people feel as though they have a purpose in the world they feel like they belong. They feel like they matter and it goes back to be idea that we were created for and by a purpose. Mental Health Week in 2015 has drawn attention to a new evidence-based research study that focuses on workers in the entertainment industry. The report found that entertainment industry workers are at a higher risk of experiencing a mental health problem than the rest of the general population. Because of the lifestyle and the hours that people in the entertainment industry actually work, their ability to access mental health services suffers. There is significant difference in the general well-being among male and female students in the field of performing arts. It means that the general well-being of male students is better than that of female students in the field of performing arts. It implies that there is greater negativity, anxiety and frustration among the female students. There is greater stress, depression and competitiveness amongst them affecting their general well being.
