The article examines the current state of receivables management, identifies the main problems and suggests ways to overcome them, including accounting. The research methodology is based on general scientific methods of cognition: historical, logical, systemic, induction, deduction, analysis, synthesis; methods of statistical data processing, classification, grouping. Emphasis is placed on the growth of receivables and its consistently high share in the current assets of domestic enterprises over the past three years, which necessitates the development of measures to optimize its management. Modern software, including the subsystem "Accounting" "1C: Enterprise 8" does not contain a separate complex for accounting for receivables and the provision for doubtful debts. This determines the expediency of accrual of the provision for doubtful debts in the subsystem "Accounting" in the document "Debt Adjustment", which is designed to adjust the debt of mutual settlements with counterparties and is responsible for the function of debt write-off. It is proved that the process of receivables management in the conditions of digitalization can be optimized by integrating communication and network technologies. Integration processes provide the formation of a common information environment at the micro and macro levels with access to internal and external users of accounting information. It is advisable to integrate the function of information exchange with a single database of counterparties in modern software products for accounting automation. This will allow you to obtain information about counterparties, the existence of contractual relations, the state of receivables and the procedure for its repayment. The single database will provide an opportunity for information exchange between suppliers, customers, banking institutions, legal and factoring organizations, government agencies of the fiscal service and statistics. All these measures will optimize the process of managing receivables in terms of the use of information technology. The prospect of further research is to study the information support of receivables management in the application of blockchain technology.

This paper looks at the opportunities and challenges of implementing blockchain technology across medical, finance and banking sectors, and provides a clear view which can enable Blockchain for more extents. After going through few articles and papers related to applications of Blockchain, we gained a vivid knowledge on pros and cons on Blockchain applications from each article. Few drawbacks that we encountered are using Power of Work (POW) in medical sector which is destroying the computing ability at a stage when system is getting bigger and eventually which is wasting lots of resources. One study over conceptual proposal on blockchain is the idea of using trade credit as the value of transactions, and this trade credit is in the scope of trade secret which improves trade confidentiality and makes it more secure. Moreover, centralization systems have few risks owing to their dependence on a high scale which could tamper the data or can even block access, change the rules and might even completely shut down the system. Few more drawbacks are designing and building a secure blockchain system is much more difficult on large-scale of banking sector with large database. To address these challenges, recent developments in blockchain technology are enabling novel opportunities in every possible sector by using Trust-worthy cloud, IoT and artificial intelligence, which makes it more powerful and secure. After analyzing Blockchain implementations and identifying their limitations, we conclude with several promising directions for future research.

The financial services sector, particularly with respect to today’s banking industry, is aiming to make a digital transition. Sustainable reporting is a holistic new reporting approach in banking and has only become partially mandatory for the sector. Thus, this paper makes a contribution to the current analysis approach and further development of the German Sustainability Code as well as associated legal approaches. It concerns the assessment of mandatory sustainable reporting in the light of constantly changing market conditions and stricter legal requirements for stakeholder data responsibility. In specific, it focuses on a digital evolving business environment and is intended to provide an insight into the perception of the topic of digitalization in the banking sector. The assessment is based on the structure of the German Sustainability Code. Based on 113 bank reports, a multiple regression analysis of 1410 codings of the keyword ‘digital’ is carried out. The results show that banks partly and not fully address digital issues in their reporting. It transpires that the emphasis is on seven criteria, while social elements are totally ignored. The paper shows a structural inequality within sustainable bank reporting with regard to digitalization. It also shows that issues are not adequately addressed and covered in legal reporting standards and that the provision of information to stakeholders on specific issues is largely undefined.

In today's dynamic organizations, as women climb up the corporate ladder, they don't seem to sustain and even might become extinct on the way upwards. In developing countries, especially in the Arab world, females have been regarded as the inferior of the species in a strictly male-dominated culture where they have been denied access to roles and positions open only to men, as male supremacy is the norm. This is a descriptive study based on mixed methods aiming to understand the role of women in the banking sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain. In-depth interviews were conducted with 5 female decision makers in the Bahraini banking sector to take their perspective on the topic with a total of 450 online questionnaires that were distributed to 26 banking institutions representing both conventional and Islamic retail banks with a response rate of 200 respondents with a valid response of 147 representing 33% response rate. Data were analyzed using both descriptive and inferential analyses; techniques such as tabulation, percentages, and charts have been employed.

The chapter analyzes Spain’s and Korea’s upgrading strategies from the perspective of large banks. The chapter shows that Spain’s and Korea’s approaches were based on two different interpretations of the banking sector. One considered banking as an industry in its own right with high potential for upgrading. The other saw banking as an input for manufacturing. The chapter shows that these two views led to the emergence of a globally competitive banking sector in Spain, but prevented a similar outcome in Korea. The chapter comprises five sections. After the introduction, section 3.2 characterizes the structure of the banking sectorin late industrializing economies and the changes in global banking since the 1980s. Sections 3.3 and 3.4 analyze the role of banking in Spain’s and Korea’s models and how these roles affected the trajectory of Spanish and Korean banks. Section 3.5 takes stock, concludes, and sets the stage for the next chapter.
