Today, a sufficient part of the country's population is below the poverty line, with monthly incomes not exceeding the established subsistence minimum, which, by the way, does not correspond to modern realities anyway. Despite the implementation in recent years of the task of raising the living wage and bringing it to the minimum wage, these indicators have a rather low value that does not meet the needs of the population. The situation develops in such a way that in the regions of the country the level of wages is formed differentially and is directly dependent on the socio-economic development of the territory. So, in the economic centers of the country, wages are significantly higher than in the periphery and in the outback. During the study, an assessment of the state and differentiation of the level of wages in the regions of the Central Federal District of Russia was carried out, the main trends and their causes were identified. It was found that both the nominal and the real size of the average wage in the country has a steady upward trend, but its rates are not high. So, over the past 5 years, the average salary in Russia has grown by 21.4% and amounted to 51.7 thousand rubles. The assessment in the context of the subjects of the Central Federal District showed the persisting differentiation of the level of wages, which is also due to the economic inequality of the regions. In general, the situation is stable and the leaders in terms of average wages are Moscow, Moscow and Kaluga regions with values of 94.3 thousand rubles, 55.6 thousand rubles. and 41.4 thousand rubles. respectively.

The review used the data from operational monitoring carried out by the Reference Center for Monitoring over HFRS – “Kazan Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology of the Rospotrebnadzor”, based on official data provided by the Rospotrebnadzor institutions in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Statistical processing was conducted using conventional methods of variation statistics applying the Excel program. Over the past decades, hantavirus diseases have become very relevant and spread throughout the world. In the territory of the Russian Federation, natural foci of HFRS are located in the European part of the country, Western Siberia and Far East. The most epidemically active foci are situated in the European part of Russia. Over the past decade, the intensive incidence rate of HFRS in the Russian Federation stayed within the range of 3.0–9.5 per 100 thousand of the population, the long-term average annual indicator – 5.2 per 100 thousand of the population. In 2020, 3845 cases of HFRS were registered (2.62 per 100,000 of the population). There was a decrease in the incidence of HFRS by 3.6 times, compared with the indicators of 2019. A factor that may have influenced the decrease in the incidence of HFRS was the depression of the epizootic process among small mammals, the main carriers of HFRS pathogens, due to natural and climatic factors. The nature of the distribution of HFRS incidence across the territory of the Russian Federation in 2020 was heterogeneous. Statistical processing of the data made it possible to identify 5 groups of territories that differ in the level of HFRS incidence. Almost all constituent entities of the Volga Federal District and the Kostroma Region belonging to the Central Federal District were classified as groups of territories with high and very high incidence rates. In 2021, the deterioration of the epidemiological situation is predicted in the summer-autumn period of the year in the Volga Federal District and four entities of the Central Federal District.

Officially published statistics on socio-economic development of the regions implies significant disadvantages such as considerable time delay and insufficient validity. Analysis of banking indicators greatly contributes to easing the problems. Indicators on payment dynamics, changes in payment and settlement infrastructure, the structure of the bank resources, and lending to various loaners successfully complement and verify findings based on the traditional economic data on the real sector of the economy and the financial condition of citizens. In the Central Federal District, data on the banking sector activity confirms the official economic growth rates. During research no relations were found between the average per capita income and the amount of bank savings of individuals. We revealed the dominance of mortgage lending in the debt structure of individuals. Share of mortgage lending is larger in the most depressive regions. We figured out the inverse relationship between the growth of debt load and overdue debt in Central Federal region. The large companies contribute to the development of the most successful regions the way more than small and medium-sized business. Digitalization is a sequence of economic growth.

The modern model of socio-economic development of Russia has formed in the past few years under the influence of global financial challenges and unpredictable political circumstances. This requires a search for new directions of strategic development sources, which are based on a truly historical transformation of the most promising areas in several subjects of the Far Eastern Federal District. Without rejecting the prevailing imperative of "European" direction of cooperation, such an approach could be a turning point in Russia's development for years to come and ensure the strengthening of the Eurasian integration processes.

The article is devoted to the study of trends in the socio-economic development of single-industry cities of the Ural Federal District and the Ural economic region, their typology in accordance with industry specifics, the development of proposals for improving the economic situation in this type of settlements. The choice of territories for the study was dictated by the special uniqueness of the Ural Federal District. It lies not only in the fact that 37 monotowns of the macroregion make up a third of its entire urban environment — almost 20% of the district's residents (with the all-Russian one — slightly less than 10% of the country's population), but also in the fact that all mono-settlements are concentrated in three constituent entities of the district out of six : Kurgan region (4), Sverdlovsk region (17) and Chelyabinsk region (16). And for them the share of the population of single-industry towns is already more than 30%. In addition, in the Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk regions, single-industry towns form single-industry districts (this kind of phenomenon still exists only in the Kemerovo region). An increase in the values of the decile coefficient, the unemployment rate and the proportion of the population living at the poverty line can lead not only to an increase in social tension and an increase in crime, but also to outbursts of protest actions. In this regard, the study of trends in the socio-economic development of monotowns in the Urals has a high scientific and practical relevance and significance for the sustainable development of Russia.
