Abstract: This research aimed to investigate whether or not there were significant differences in reading comprehension and writing achievement between the eighth grade students of SMP Islam Az-Zahra 2 Palembang who were taught by using Literature-Based instruction and those who were not. This study used one of the quasi experimental designs: pretest-posttest design. The sample was selected purposively from the whole population based on their reading comprehension scores. Forty six eighth graders were selected as the sample and equally divided into experimental and control groups. Pretest and posttest were given to both groups. Using paired sample statistics, the results of the experimental group showed that the students’ reading comprehension and writing achievement ? significantly improved. Furthermore, the result of the independent t-test showed that with mean difference of reading comprehension was 8.609, t value 11.111(p<0.05). Moreover, the mean difference of writing achievement was 6.8043, t value 10.478 (p<0.05). Keywords: Literature-based instruction, reading comprehension and writing achievement.

The purpose of this study was inquiring The Impact of the reciprocal Teaching Strategy on the Development of Achievement in Islamic Education in Seventh Grade Students in Jordan. To achieve goals of this study, a test has been developed to observe the Development of Achievement. The researcher adopted a quasi- experimental approach in which the experimental group consisting of (30) students was taught in accordance with reciprocal Teaching Strategy. At the same time, the controlled group consisting of (30 students) was taught in the traditional way. The tests and the motive measuring was applied prior and post- teaching on both groups. The Analysis of Covariance results (Test- t) indicated a significant difference at (α≤0.05) between the two groups, which is attributed to the reciprocal Teaching Strategy, in developing the Acquiring Concepts in Islamic , of Learning Islamic Education Course for the experimental group. The results also indicated variation in the performance of (the experimental group) students in the posttest of the reciprocal Teaching Strategy (in developing the Academic achievement The study recommended introducing the reciprocal Teaching Strategy in the teaching of Islamic Education Course, and conducting other similar studies in different educational stages.

The purpose of this study was to determine the creativity development of children 5-6 years old with herbarium activities in PAUD Kasih Ibu I Luar Parit. The creativity development activities in the field use dry leaf collage activities and serveral other activities such as drawing coloring, and forming fruits from plasticine. But the work produced is almost exactly the same as the teacher’s example. Through this herbarium activity researhers want to see the creativity development of children 5-6 years. Quantitative reasearch with experimental methods in the form of quasi experimental is a method in this study. All children in PAUD Kasih Ibu I Luar Parit totaling 34. Group B1 experimental sample and B2 control sample with 12 children each class. Purposive sampling. As for the technique of collecting data using deed test and oral test.statement instrumen grid is used as a data collection tool. The results of the average experimental 77,77 and the control 70,83. So the use of herbarium activities had a significant effect on the development of creativity of children 5-6 years old at the PAUD Kasih Ibu I Luar Parit academic years 2018/2019.

This research used a quasi-experimental method to explore whether integrating Science Magic (SM) into 5E Learning Cycle (5ELC) in the development of teaching materials for a friction unit would impact students’ learning outcomes and attitudes toward science. A total of 68 eighth-grade students were divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group was taught using teaching materials and methods developed using the SM-based 5ELC, while the control group adhered solely to textbook-based materials, which were also based on the 5ELC but did not involve SM activities. Two major findings were obtained in this research. First, learning effects for the experimental group were significantly higher than the control group, especially in relation to characteristics of static friction, factors that affect friction, and relationships between frictional and normal force. Second, the experimental group showed significant improvements in their attitudes toward science when juxtaposed with the control group. Keywords: attitudes toward science, friction concepts, inquiry-based teaching strategy, science magic.

Education is faced with multi-dimensional problems, including the low competence of mathematical knowledge and the crisis of social aspects. This study aims to determine the difference in the effect of Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS), Group Investigation (GI), and Conventional models on knowledge competence and social attitudes in terms of learning styles. This is a quasi-experimental research, with a population of all eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 24 Jakarta. Hypothesis testing used two-way multivariate analysis with unequal cells. The results of the research included: (1) TAPPS produced knowledge competence better than GI and conventional, and GI was better than conventional, (2) TAPPS and GI produced the same social attitudes, and both were better than conventional, (3) visual and auditorial resulted in the same good knowledge competence, and both were better than kinesthetic, (4) visual and auditory produced the same good social attitudes, and both were better than kinesthetic, (5) TAPPS and GI, knowledge competence of the three learning styles were equally good, whereas conventionally there were differences, (6) TAPPS and GI, social attitudes of the three types of learning styles were equally good, while conventionally there were differences, (7) in visual and auditory, knowledge competence of the three models were the same, while there were differences in kinesthetic, and (8) in visual and auditory, the social attitudes of the three models were the same, while there were differences in kinesthetic.

Not many studies have dealt with how Serbs from Serbia see Croats and Bosniaks in the light of the wars from 1990s. In our study, we used a quasi-experimental approach to assess the type of stereotypes provoked in Serbs, and their relationship to social distance and the national identity. The sample consisted of 66 participants of Serbian ethnicity, born between 1991 and 1995, who are residing in Serbia. The instruments included Social Distance Scale, National Identity Scale, socio-demographic questionnaire and a set of collective memory stimuli followed by a set of questions. As stimuli, we used shortened versions of collective memories as described by Ruiz Jiménez (2013), in order to set a context which referred to the 1990s wars. The results have shown that the described stimuli have impactneither on stereotypes nor on the social distance and the national identity of participants. However, the social distance is lower than in previous studies in the region, and Croats are consistently seen in more negative terms than Bosniaks and Serbs.

In this research. The population of this research was eighth grade students of SMPN 10 Kota Cirebon in the 2015/2016 academic year. The number population is about 270 students consisted of nine classes and each class consisted of 25 – 30 students. This research only took two classes as sample, VIII H as control class and VIII I as experimental class. There were two research instruments that was used to gather the data: Test (Pre-test and Post-test) was used to find out the students’s achievement in reading before and after teaching reading by using reciprocal teaching strategy and questionnaire was used to find out the students’ response about learning reading using reciprocal teaching strategy. After collecting the data, the data was analyzed by using t-test formula from fraenkel to find out t-account. The result of the test showed that t-account was 4.47 and t-table was 2.012 with (df) 48 and significant level 0.05 (5%). It means that t-account (4.47) is higher than t-table (2.021). It can be concluded that (Ha) “Reciprocal teaching strategyis effectivein teaching reading for the eighth grade at SMPN 10 Kota Cirebon.” is accepted.
