The current study aimed at identifying the effect of using a multi-intelligence strategy on acquiring national concepts in the subject of national and civic education among students of basic sixth education in Jordan. The researcher used the semi-experimental approach to identify the effect of using a strategy based on multiple intelligences on acquiring national concepts. The researcher prepared a test to measure national concepts for the study sample, which consisted of (70) students in two groups (control- experimental). The study reached several results, the most important of which is the effect of a strategy based on multiple intelligence in acquiring national concepts in the subject of national and civic education among students of the basic sixth, where the students of the experimental sample outperformed the students of the control sample. The study recommended the necessity of using the teaching strategy based on multiple intelligences in all social education units.

This study aimed to reveal the impact of the strategies of multiple intelligences, problem solving, and the six hats on the development of scientific thinking skills among students in eighth grade in Jordan. The study took place in the first semester 2010-2011. The sample consisted of (217) students who were divided into three groups for boys and three for girls. The sample was a stratified random sample. The first group was taught according to the strategy of multiple intelligence, and the second group according to the strategy of problem-solving, while the third was taught according to the strategy of the six hats. Researchers prepared a test to measure the level of scientific thinking among members of the study. The instrument included five areas. The results of the study were: There were statistically significant differences between the average score of students who studied according to the six hats and the average score of students who studied according to the multiple intelligence, and problem solving in favor of the former group. Females outscored males (p ≤ .05) There was no significant interaction effect between teaching strategy and gender at (p ≤ 0.05).

This research analyzes the multiple intelligences in English Foreign Language (EFL), especially in 8A grade students. It identifies the multiple intelligences profile based on the frequency of multiple intelligence (MI) types, students’ high scores, and low scores. This research uses descriptive qualitative design. The subject of this research was 8A grade students in SMP Muhammadiyah 15 Surabaya. The instruments of the research were Multiple Intelligences Questionnaires, IQ results, and documentation of English mid-test scores in the second semester. From analysis and discussion, it was found that this class’s IQ score average is 86, and the most dominant intelligence type is musical. For the five highest score students’ there were four types of intelligence that they had. They were interpersonal, naturalist, logical-mathematical, and musical. Meanwhile, five low English achievers had four types of multiple intelligence namely were musical, interpersonal, naturalist, and visual-spatial. In conclusion, the class has diversity in multiple intelligence.   Multiple Intelligence types cannot refer to a certain group, in this case, groups based on their English score, because some MI types can be found in the high and low English achiever groups.

The study discusses about improving students motivation on reading comprehension by using Multiple Intelligences strategies. The objectives of the study are explaining 1) the problems faced by the Students the first semester at UMP in reading comprehension, 2) the implementation of Multiple Intelligences strategies in motivating reading comprehension for the students the first semester at UMP, 3) how Multiple Intelligences strategies improve the motivation of the students the first semester at UMP. In order to achieve the objectives, the researcher held an action research at Muhammadiyah of University. There were 2 cycles in which 2 meetings held for each cycle. The subject of the study is the students the first semester at UMP. The numbers of population are 32 students. The instruments used were observation sheet, questionnaire, and CARI. The result of the study is the problem in motivating students to read. This can be solved by using Multiple Intelligences strategies which combine students intelligences with fun learning activities through Multiple Intelligence instructions. Based on the questionnaire, all of the students said that the strategies used were interesting. In line with the questionnaire result, the observation sheet also showed the excellent result of students study habits. There was an improvement on students comprehension, it can be seen from the mean of CARI I which was 89.06 point and CARI II which was 95.6 point. I suggest that the lectures should be able to use the Multiple Intelligences strategies as an alternative in motivating students and creating enjoyable learning experiences.

The aim of the research is to investigate whether "Teaching Mathematics for the 2nd grade of elementary school in an appropriate way for the theory of multiple intelligences on geometric subjects" has any impact on students’ academic achievement or not. The research is an experimental study and it was conducted with the students of the 2nd grade class in a primary school in Küçükçekmece province of Istanbul in 2016-2017 education year. A total of 60 students participated in the research, 30 in the experimental group and 30 in the control group. In the control group, while the subject "geometric objects" was taught using traditional methods, the same subject in the experimental group was taught by curriculums prepared in accordance with the Multiple Intelligence Theory. The study lasted for 4 weeks together with the applications of test development, pre-test, post-test and course work. The application was performed by researchers. The data obtained from the application were evaluated in the SPSS 22 Program. As a result of the evaluations made, it was concluded that the lesson which was taught by using the curriculums prepared according to the Multiple Intelligences Theory had a more positive effect on student achievement compared to the lesson which was taught using traditional methods. Keywords: Multiple Intelligence Theory, Mathematics, Geometry, Academic Achievement

Abstract Background University education in Australia and internationally involves teaching diverse students: in terms of age, life experience, previous degrees completed, and level of English competency. In Australia the Bachelors of Public Health (BPH) at The University of Wollongong, epidemiology is a core subject. It aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to design, critique and interpret studies that investigate why different populations experience different health outcomes. A student-centred learning strategy; Hybrid Team Based Learning and Personalised Education teaching strategy (HTBL-PE) was created to maximise academic success. Each phase has a distinct purpose based on learning theories (e.g. TBL, Bloom's taxonomy and Vygotsky). HTBL-PE aims to systematically build students abilities; strengthen self-confidence and belief, by teaching the way students learn and harnessing the capabilities of the team to strengthen the individual. Objectives HTBL-PE was evaluated in spring 2019 in the BPH, where their experiences at the beginning and end of semester were measured. Results In total 73 out of 84 enrolled students provided data at both time-points (87%). At the end of the semester, the vast majority of students indicated their interest in epidemiology had increased (93%), critical thinking had improved (92%), and confidence as independent learners had increased (86%). Outcomes did not differ significantly by gender or across learning styles. More than two thirds of students had already applied learnings from this subject in other settings (67%). Students' final mark for this subject was significantly higher than their Weighted Average Mark (WAM) prior to the semester (+17.4, p < 0.001). Average scores for the subject were > 84/100 with a < 0.5% failure rate. Conclusions HTBL-PE has positive learning outcomes; low failure rates, increased confidence in learning and themselves, increased interest in epidemiology and high overall scores in the subject. Key messages An effective new innovative teaching strategy resulted in a subject average score > 84/100 and <0.5% failure rate. The vast majority of students reported increased confidence as independent lifelong learners, critical thinking, confidence in epidemiology (knowledge, skills, and attitudes) and themselves.
