The menstrual cycle is the physiological wonder which is remarkable to females that starts with a high school. Feminine cycle is likewise appropriately called menses (or) all the more regularly a time of the month to month stream. The periods of beginning are from 9 to 16 years and end happens roughly like clockwork and keeps going for around five days feminine stream consists of blood, bodily fluid, and tissue particles. This is a cycle of a lady releasing blood and other material from the coating of the uterus at time spans one lunar month from pubescence until the menopause, besides during pregnancy. A quasi experimental design conducted among 50 people regarding knowledge assessment about menstrual hygiene. Convenient sampling technique was used to select samples. A structured questionnaire was used to collect demographic data and knowledge regarding menstrual hygiene was assessed. Booklet was given to the samples. After an hour, the knowledge was reassessed using the same structured questionnaire. The present study result states that there is a significant increase in the knowledge of the higher secondary school girls regarding menstrual hygiene at p<.05 level. This indicates that booklet teaching is an effective and easy method to improve knowledge among higher secondary school girls regarding menstrual hygiene that helps to improve the practice of menstrual hygiene.

Objectives: To evaluate menstrual hygiene practices among teenage girls and to compare menstrual hygiene practices among secondary and higher secondary school girls in Pakistan Methodology: A cross-sectional study of adolescent girls (grades 9 to 12) from different secondary and higher secondary schools across Pakistan was conducted between November 2017 and September 2018. A pre-tested and standardized questionnaire was administered using a non-probability sampling technique. The menstrual hygiene practices were evaluated and comparisons were made between secondary and higher secondary school girls about these practices. Data was analysed using SPSS version 22. P-value < 0.05 was set for being statistically significant. Results: Out of a total of 2,000 adolescent girls, an equal number of adolescent girls (n=1,000) were chosen from secondary and higher secondary schools. The mean menarchal age was 12.5 ± 1.2 years. Majority of the participants (63.6%) belonged to public sector schools and (71.3%) responded that menstrual blood comes from the womb. One in five (19.3%) girls missed 2 days/month of school due to pain (54.5%). Two-thirds (68.6%) of the participants were using sanitary pads and one of three changed their pads three times/day, and forty-six percent of the girls were unable to carry out daily activities due to menstrual period. Statistically significant (P < 0.05) association was observed between knowledge of menstruation among secondary and higher secondary school girls. Conclusion: The study showed that menstrual hygiene was understood well among young girls. However, a substantial association was noted between secondary and higher secondary school girls’ hygiene practices.

Asthma is an illness of the respiratory system wherein respiratory sections in which the lungs become over receptive and over-responsive. On account of this expanded affectability, lungs become aggravated when presented to certain aggravations, for example, cool air, smoke, and dust and so on Asthma causes irritation of the lungs and results in narrowing of the respiratory entries. The word asthma signifies "to inhale hard". As the name recommends, individuals with asthma experience issues in Breathing, Tightness of Chest and Wheezing. A quantitative pre-experimental one group research design was conducted among 60 patients with Bronchial Asthma. Convenient sampling technique was used to select samples. A structured questionnaire was used to collect demographic data and knowledge regarding home care management was assessed. The planned teaching program was given to the samples. After an hour, the knowledge was reassessed using the same structured questionnaire. The present study result states that there is a significant increase in the knowledge of the patients with bronchial asthma at p<0.001 level. This indicates that planned, structured teaching is the effective and easy method to improve knowledge among patient with bronchial asthma regarding homecare management that helps to relieve symptoms through non-pharmacological intervention which in turn has a good prognosis in bronchial asthma.

Background: Menstruation has more profound effect on quality of education than other aspect of puberty because it involves a learning component as well as elements affected by the school environment and infrastructure. It is, therefore, imperative to assess the knowledge, attitude, and practice of Secondary School girls in Ogbomoso on the subject of menstruation and menstrual hygiene.Methods: It was a cross-sectional study carried out between June and August 2016. A total of 447 eligible female adolescent secondary school students were selected by multistage sampling technique. A semi-structured facilitated self- administered questionnaire was used.Results: Majority (96.4%) of the adolescents have heard about menstruation before menarche while 55.9% had good knowledge of menstruation and menstrual hygiene. Despite the high level of knowledge, about 64% of the respondents describe their response to their first menses as scary, discomforting or emotionally disturbing. Also, only 25% of the respondents had good menstrual hygiene practice. Factors that were significantly associated with good knowledge of menstruation and menstrual hygiene in this study were older adolescent age (15-19 years) (χ2=47.68, P<0.0001); adolescents whose mothers have greater than secondary school education (χ2=42.52, P<0.0001); and those living with their parents (χ2=123.9 ,P=0.001)  while only living with parents significantly influenced good practices.Conclusions: The study concluded that majority of the adolescents do not observe good hygienic practice during menstruation despite relatively good knowledge of menstruation and menstrual hygiene. Efforts have to be put into ensuring that adolescents are well educated on the meaning of menstruation, the importance of good hygienic practice both in schools and at home.

The study determined gender effect in the efficacy of group investigation and jurisprudential inquiry instructional models in enhancing adolescent students&rsquo; interest and achievement in voter education related contents of senior secondary school Government curriculum. The study adopted quasi-experimental non-equivalent pre-test, post-test control group design. Sample for the study consisted of 165 SS II students drawn from senior secondary schools in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu state Nigeria. Multi-stage sampling technique was used to select the intact classes from each of the schools that were assigned to the two experimental groups. Data collected using Multiple Choice Government Achievement Test (MCGAT) and Government Interest Inventory (GII) were analyzed using mean and standard deviation for the research questions and ANCOVA for testing the hypothesis at P &lt; 0.05 level of significance. The findings showed that both group investigation and jurisprudential inquiry models were effective in enhancing interest and achievement of male and female students in voter education related contents in senior secondary school Government curriculum. However, group investigation proved more efficacious. These findings were exhaustively discussed with recommendations on how to manage gender factor in using student-centred instructional models in enhancing students&rsquo; interest and achievement.

‘Assessment of the factors influencing and barriers associated with menstrual hygiene among adolescent girls of selected urban schools in view to develop information booklet.’ Objectives: 1. To assess the factors influencing Incidence of menstrual hygiene among the adolescent girls. 2. To assess the barriers associated with menstrual hygiene among adolescent girls. 3.To find association between the study findings and selected demographic variables. Material and Methods: The research approach adopted in this study is Observational research approach. Non- experimental descriptive research design was used. The sample were selected by Non-probability convenient sampling technique sample size was 100. Results: 1. 75% of the adolescent girls understand menstruation as the physiological process, 9% of them consider it as pathological process, 3% of them consider it as a cause for god and 13% of them don't know what menstruation is about. 2. 73% of the adolescent girls avoid visiting public places during menstruation due to lack of toilet facilities in public area, 14% of them avoid visiting public places because they feel shy to use public toilet and 13% of them avoid using public places due to cultural barriers.

Menstruation is not just a physiological phenomenon but it is also psychological, social as well as behavioral transition for an adolescent girl from girlhood to womanhood. Menstrual hygiene is most important, still neglected area of concern. A cross sectional study was undertaken in a four community schools of rural area of Tanahun district. A pre-designed, self-administered close ended (structured) questionnaire was prepared for collection of data. There were 196 participants for the study. It was marked that 69 percent participants were aware about menstruation before their menarche and the most important sources of information were mothers in 61 percent, 59 percent participants used only sanitary napkin during menstruation, 50 percent changed absorbent 1 to 2 times a day. Although knowledge was better than practice, however, both were not satisfactory level. So, the girls should be educated more about the process and significance of menstruation.

Test anxiety constitutes a serious academic impediment to lots of students in schools. This study investigated the Effects of Meditation technique on test anxiety among secondary school students in Anambra State, Nigeria. Two research questions guided the study and two null hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. Quasi-experimental research was adopted in carrying out the study. A sample size of 101 adolescents was chosen from a population of 475 adolescents in SS2 with test anxiety. The sample was derived from two schools selected using purposive sampling technique based on the number of students that scored high on Test Anxiety Inventory. Data relating to research questions were analysed using statistical Mean while data relating to hypothesis was analysed using Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA). Findings from the study revealed among others that though the reduction of secondary school students’ test anxiety after meditation technique differed significantly with that of the conventional counselling group, meditation technique was not effective on secondary school students’ test anxiety. It further revealed that meditation technique reduced the secondary school students’ test anxiety. Based on the findings, implications of the study were noted and recommendations made that since the technique meditation was found not to be effective, but significantly reduced the test anxiety of the participants, the technique should not be used alone by the guidance counsellors in helping clients, especially students in overcoming their test anxiety in schools.

Objective: Breast Self-Examination (BSE) is an early detection method of breast cancer. It is able to develop responsibility for breast health among women to always aware of any changes in the breast. Thus, secondary school girls age is the perfect age to start practice the BSE. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of knowledge and awareness on BSE among secondary school girls in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 502 secondary school girls using self-administered questionnaire covering socio-demographic data, knowledge and awareness of breast cancer and knowledge and awareness of BSE. Results: The mean age of the participants is 14.9 ± 0.06 years. The majority of the participants were Malays (86.5%). A total of 6.1% of the participants had a family history of breast cancer. Nine percent of participants had a good knowledge and 91.0% had poor knowledge regarding BSE. There is a significant difference between the age of participants with the level of knowledge and awareness (p = 0.014). Conclusion: The knowledge and awareness of BSE were poor among secondary school girls in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan.

The study examined the impact of boarding Secondary Schools on students’ achievement in mathematics. The study was conducted in Ogbia Education Zone of Bayelsa State, Nigeria. Two research questions and their corresponding null hypotheses guided the study. A post-test only of quasi- experimental research design was adopted. Furthermore, a purposive sampling technique was used to select a sample size of 219 senior secondary school class 1 (SSS 1) mathematics students from a mixed model boarding secondary school. This school consisted of both boarding and day students. A Mathematics Achievement Test (MAT) was used to collect data from the students after a period of instruction that lasted for one full academic term. All data collected were analysed by the methods of mean, standard deviation and t-test statistics. The finding indicated that the establishment of the model boarding secondary schools by the Bayelsa State Government had a very significant impact on students’ achievement in mathematics. The study recommended that more model boarding secondary schools should be established by the Bayelsa State Government.
