In his famously disparaging poetic retorts to the poetry of the British Della Cruscan movement, the Baviad and Mæviad, Tory satirist William Gifford made every effort to separate the readers of Della Cruscan poetry into two distinct audiences: Della Cruscan ‘writer-readers’ who read and actively responded to pieces written by other members of the coterie with poetry of their own, and the non-participating mass audience. According to Gifford, this latter audience – metonymized as ‘the Town’ in the Baviad – ignorantly follows the whims of fashion, absorbing Della Cruscan poetry, but never actually responding to it. Through an analysis of both Della Cruscan poetry and Gifford's retorts, this essay aims to re-establish the links between these two kinds of audiences. I will argue that Gifford's attempts to suppress these links stemmed from a deep-seated fear – fuelled by post-Revolutionary political instability – that the Della Cruscan coterie offered a platform whereby members of the mass reading audience could join their poetic conversations pseudonymously, and ultimately be granted a voice, regardless of their gender or political affiliations.

There is an obvious lack of pragmatic proposals to eliminate or minimize the causes of crime. Researchers do not pay attention to the main problem of law in general: the hypertrophy of the restriction of rights and freedoms. It is argued that criminology will become a full-fledged science, if the basis of its method of research, will use physics and other technical branches of knowledge. They are necessary for understanding the surrounding of unknown information space and that is concentrated on information about a significant part of human actions committed through his consciousness, including crimes. Key words: rights, law, criminal procedure, criminology, crime, social danger, punishment, clairvoyance.

The article considers and analyzes the determination of the reliability of information, objects and subjects of information, which will become the first step for the development of such a method that will affect the reliability of information resources. The term reliability of information should be understood as the proximity of information to the original source and adequate perception of the object of consideration by the subjects of the information space. As objects of information security act a person, society and the state. All types of information that meets the needs of the subject meet such properties as the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information. As to the impact on information and its processing, the greatest interest is threats. The threat in its general form will be any potentially possible adverse effect on objects that (which) causes damage to the subject of information activity. Recently, the influence on the reliability of information has become much widespread, and therefore there has been a phenomenon like false information. For a simple example, this is news, social networking sites, fake rating sites, by which certain groups of people or individuals draw the attention of society to incorrect events in the wrong way. Such information, in particular, is unreliable, is spreading at a high rate, gradually being replenished with new details that are the reaction of individuals. The ways of appearance of inadequate information are considered. Also, recommendations are provided to identify false information. Given the fact that the reliability of the information depends on the publications itself, analysts should pay attention to the source, carefully study the facts underlying the information, carefully check the questionable information. An unreliable researcher should consider information coming to the information space from "confidential" sources, even if the material contains a link to the organization represented by the "source".

The article is aimed at specifying and visualizing the strategies and tactics of neutralizing the negative effects of the pathogenic political megadiscourses. On top of that, it explores the suggestion linguistic implementation features, having been examined basing on the European political leaders’ speeches and news texts, and emphasizes the specificity of trolling strategy, which is aimed either at escalating the emotionality and falsity of the information presented in the original textual array, or at bringing the information having been presented in the original array to the absurd, which would minimize the rationality of the original array perception, and subsequently – trust in the original array, and in the addressee of these arrays (later on). The trolling strategy is optimal in the framework of neutralizing the pathogenic arrays having been created in the fake news paradigm, given these arrays’ orientation onto presenting knowingly false information in order to escalate tensions in the information space and destabilize the situation as a whole. The author presents and validates examples of using all the tactics of this strategy (rough (destructive) trolling or flaming, constructive trolling, exaggeration / reduction, wiki-trolling, "big lies" tactics, sockpuppetting tactics), which follow all the features of the original pathogenic array, including the dominant influence markers, as well as the original array’s suggestiveness realization peculiarities, which allows (when presenting the neutralizing array to the same target audience that has already been affected by the original array) to reduce or neutralize the harmful effects of the original pathogenic array. The paper also outlines the prospects for further research in this area given its fundamental importance not only for identifying the basic strategies for constructing pathogenic arrays and in-depth mechanisms of their formulation and, consequently, their impact on recipients, but also ways to counteract each type of such megadiscourses, thus optimizing Ukraine’s information space in the conditions of information war currently being carried out not only in our country, but in the numerous world countries, as well.

This article is devoted to the study of the functional features of the media space in Kazakhstan under the rapidly changing globalization trends and information confrontation of world powers. Since gaining independence, Kazakhstan is striving to create its own independent information space. The process of information space formation in the country has several traits, such as low competitiveness of national news agencies, slow development of the regulatory and legal framework in the field of information security, high politicization, including the language issue. These features occurred due to the heterogeneous language environment, the problems of the formation of national independent news agencies, the challenges of globalization, the most pressing of which is the growing influence of global media. In this article, authors touch upon the transition of Kazakhstan to the Latin alphabet, as well as the views of Western, Russian and Kazakhstan researchers on the current state of the media landscape of Kazakhstan. Authors justify the need to work out ways to minimize external information impact on the media landscape of Kazakhstan that is still undergoing media transformation processes.

The article substantiates topicality of psychological study of animated cartoons as a mass media from the point of view of their influence on children socialization. The topic of moving into adulthood acquires a specific significance for senior preschoolers and junior pupils as the sphere of social interaction is expanding, the motives of social behavior are being developed and a new role - a role of a pupil - is being realized. The article presents a comparative psychological analysis of animated cartoons in terms of the topic of adulating How to grow big (1967) and I want to be an adult from the series of Mi-Mi-Bear (2015). It shows that the first media product corresponds to the age-specific features of perception by the preschoolers and junior pupils and can perform a creative role in the childs development, forming his/her conative and value-based guidelines, while the second one contains attributes of violating psychological security of the developing media space. The article describes the results of a comparative empiric study of the features of the semantic assessment of these cartoons in groups of junior and senior pupils. It identifies that the semantic assessment of the cartoons characters is performed in terms of factors of cheerfulness, emotional nearness, strength and intensity. The results of the investigation prove that the junior school children perceive the cartoon characters not differentially, not critically, with that the degree of their identification with the hero is higher, which determines the children vulnerability to impact of the media texts.
