The study was conducted to develop value added product, coconut bar from coconut. The coconut was collected from local market. Then the coconut was analyzed for their composition. The coconut contains moisture 45.26%, ash 2.76%, protein 4.23%, fat 30.84%, and carbohydrate 16.91%. Total 5 types (C1= Coconut bar, C2 = Coconut bar with peanut, C3= Coconut milk extracted bar, C4= Coconut bar with sesame, C5= Coconut bar with egg) of coconut bars with different ingredients were prepared. The C1 sample contained moisture 12.11%, ash 1.6%, protein 1.62%, fat 3.4%, and carbohydrate 81.25%. The C2 sample contained moisture 4.81%, ash 1.8%, protein 2.24%, fat 5.2%, and carbohydrate 85.88%. The C3 sample contained moisture 9.3%, ash 1.5%, protein 0.67%, fat 2.7%, and carbohydrate 85.69%. The C4 sample contained moisture 9.8%, ash 1.7%, protein 0.53%, fat 4.1%, and carbohydrate 83.74%. The C5 sample contained moisture 15.04%, ash 1.7%, protein 2.6%, fat 6.6%, and carbohydrate 73.96%. A testing panel consisting 15 panelists studied the acceptability of the samples. The consumer’s preferences were measured by statistical analysis of the scores obtained from the response of the panel. Among the samples the C5 (Coconut bar with egg) sample was awarded the highest score by the panelist

A study was undertaken to develop shelf stable intermediate moisture type chicken meat pickle and evaluate its quality and storage stability. Pre-cooked and fried lean minced chicken meat was mixed with salt, spices and vinegar and packed air tight in glass jar. The product had appreciable sensory quality and low total microbial, yeast and mould counts. Salmonella, Staphylococci and E. coli were found absent in the product. Microbial count and peroxide value lay within the acceptable levels for sixty days.

Background: The fish being highly perishable food item consumed in all strata of people. The production of freshwater fish is on the rise and need to be processed in a variety of forms to make them available for people. Nowadays, numbers of value added fish products are available in the market for consumption to achieve health beneficial effect and to cope up with malnutrition. However, consumers are unaware of the quality of the products available in the market. Therefore, the present work was undertaken to evaluate the quality of fish fingers produced from tilapia and pangasius during storage at -18±2°C. Methods: The fresh tilapia and pangasius were purchased from local market to prepare fillets. The fingers were prepared from tilapia and pangasius fillets and par fried at 180°C for 30 seconds. The fried fingers were cooled at once at room temperature and stored in deep freeze at -18±2°C for shelf-life study during November 2019 to March 2021. Result: The results indicated that the fish fingers prepared from tilapia could be stored for 33 days and pangasius fingers had a shelf-life of only 27 days. All biochemical parameters viz. pH, TVB-N, PV, FFA and TBA were found increasing as the storage study progresses. The sensory score of the fish fingers produced from both the fishes were got drastically reduced at the end of deep freeze storage at -18±2°C. Overall study indicated that tilapia and pangasius fish can be successfully utilized for the preparation of various value added fish product such as fish fingers and would have sufficient shelf life at deep freeze storage at -18±2°C.

Some of the constructs in the field of performance management are intuitive or not empirically validated. This study provides a data-driven framework for measuring and improving the performance through synchronized strategies. The ultimate goal was to provide support for increasing business performance. Empirical research materializes in an exploratory case study and a statistical analysis with econometric models. The case study revealed that a company can improve its performance, even in periods of growth, being characterized by consistent investments. The statistical analysis, performed on a restricted sample of companies, confirmed the results that were provided by the case study. The measurement of performance was made by capitalizing on financial and non-financial data precisely to intensify the interest for corporate sustainability. The obtained results, contrary to previous research that showed that economic value added (EVA) is negatively influenced by the increase in invested capital, open up new research perspectives to find out whether, at the industry level, performance appraisal that is based on EVA stimulates the development of a business’s economic capital. The research has a double utility: scientific (by providing an overview of the state of the art in the field of performance management) and practical (by providing a reference model for measuring and monitoring performance).

The paper is focused on assessing the development of the economic account for agriculture of the Czech Republic in the selected reference period 1998–2003. There were evaluated effects of the particular types of the economic accounts. Methods of regression and correlation analysis and development trends were used for the mathematical-statistical analysis. The plant production output similarly as the output of agricultural industry show an increasing tendency since the period under investigation reaching a peak about 2001 and in next years decreasing in difference to the gross value added at basic prices and the net value added at basic prices which shows an increasing trend throughout the period. Both animal output and the agricultural services output show a decreasing trend reaching a minimum about 2002.

This study was conducted to investigate the interaction of different concentration of pectin and its dissipation from processing to storage of strawberry (Fragaria ananassa) jam and jelly. The fruits were collected from local market of Sylhet, Bangladesh. The analysis showed juice contains acidity 1.14±0.01 %, total sugar 0.61±0.06 %, TSS 8.98±0.03 % and pulp restrain acidity 01.02±0.01 %, total sugar 5.04±0.06 %, and TSS 8.57±1.36 %. Jam and jelly were prepared with 0.5%, 1% and 1.5% pectin. Potassium metabisulphate (KMS) was added as preservative in a required quantity. Study showed pectin do not significantly interact with quality attributes of processed product. During six month of storage at ambient temperature (27°C to 34°C) no mentionable changes were found. But PH of the products (jam and jelly) was slightly increased. At six month red color of 0.5 % pectin containing jam slightly faded and cohesiveness of 1% and 0.5 % pectin containing jelly considerably changed. A taste panel consisting 10 panelists adjudged the acceptability of the samples. The consumer’s preferences were measured by statistical analysis. Among the samples, both jam and jelly made with 1.5% pectin was commended as best product by the panelists at p<0.05. Research background: The outbreak and spread of COVID-19 brought disastrous influences to the development of human society, especially the development of economy. Purpose of the article: Considering that knowing about the situations of the existing studies about COVID-19 and economy is not only helpful to understand the research progress and the connections between COVID-19 and economy, but also provides effective suggestions for fighting against COVID-19 and protecting economy, this paper analyzes the existing studies on COVID-19 and economy from the perspective of bibliometrics. Methods: Firstly, the discussion starts from the statistical analysis, in which the basic distributions of the studies on different countries/regions, different publication sources, different publication years, etc., are presented. Then, the paper shows the cooperation situations of the researchers from analyzing the related citation networks, co-citation networks and cooperation networks. Further, the theme analysis of the related studies is presented, in which the related co-occurrence networks are shown, and then the detailed analyses of the studies are introduced. Based on these analyses, the discussions about future research are presented, and finally we draw a conclusion. Findings & value added: The analyses not only present the basic situation on the research about COVID-19 and Economy, but also show the future research trends, which can provide meaningful research expectations.

The study aimed to conduct a cost-value analysis of the production process of a newly introduced batch of external doors in the context of value-added creation and to identify redundant processes that do not create added value and for which appropriate corrective actions could contribute to their elimination. The result of applying improvement actions following the lean management concept was the optimization time nationalized analyzed by eliminating, among others, operations related to unnecessary transport and storage of products. In addition, the optimization production process impacted both shortening the process implementation time and reducing the costs of its implementation. Further activities will be related to the use of the presented methodology to analyze the processes implemented in the company in order to increase their efficiency.

The expansion from the domestic market to the international market has become increasingly important for construction business including that of Nigerian Contractors amidst saturated local market, more patronage to foreign Contractors by the sector, stiff competition, political rivalry, insecurity and dwindling economic situation in the country. These factors have left most Contractors vulnerable for years without contract awards thereby resulting in retrenchments, inability to remit value-added tax (VAT), unsustained company’s profitability, heavy financial risk, practice and technology drain, bankruptcy, merging of companies as well as redundancy. Thus, the aim of the paper is to evaluate sound prospects for economic boost by the involvement of indigenous Contractors in oversea’s projects. The research was built on the foundation of stage growth theory which postulated that countries should modernize and model themselves after wealthier and economical viable ones to climb the upward ladder for development. The paper adopted a survey design method in which a total of 150 questionnaires were administered representing the sample size and 120 copies filled and submitted completely was achieved through a simple random sampling technique from the target population of 240 Federal Government-registered Indigenous Contractors in the South-South geo-political zone of Nigeria. Data analysis was done through simple percentages, frequencies, mean as well as statistics tools-analysis of variance (one-way ANOVA) to test the effect of one variable on another. The results showed that high profit and revenue, expansion of subsidiaries, foreign direct investment (FDI), new technological strength, the local and foreign government supports, amongst others were ranked 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th respectively as key prospects that will be achieved for the economic recovery of the nation. Also, competing in a foreign contract will lower the cost of the project in the country. The paper tested a hypothesis: whether there is value addition on the nation economy via indigenous contractor participation in the foreign project. The alternative hypothesis H1 was accepted since the f-calculated value of 64.24 was greater than the table f-value of 5.29 at 4/20 degree of freedom tested at 0.01 level of significance. It then concluded that Indigenous contractors has not been involved significantly in the overseas project, hence; it recommended an integrated approach, developing external wings, good industry practices, technical and dynamic capabilities, collective championing and depoliticizing construction contract for maximum participation.
