This research is entitled 'The Value of the Struggle in the Film Better Days (少年的你 ) by Derek Tsang.' The background of this research departs from an interest in literary works set in the struggle of a girl named Chen Nian who is preparing for her college entrance exam. The formulation of the research problem is what are the values of struggle in the Better Days film. The purpose of this study is to find, reveal and describe the formulation of the problem in its entirety and in detail. The research method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The theory used in this research is the theory of sociology of literature according to Wellek and Warren. The data source used in this study is the film Better Days directed by Derek Tsang and released on October 25, 2019. The results of this study are the value of struggle and the influencing factors, in the film represented by several pieces of quotes and scenes. This film contains the values of struggle, including the value of helping; the value of courage; the value of self-sacrifice; the value of working together; the value of mutual respect; spirit, and never giving up. AbstrakPenelitian ini berjudul Analisis Aspek Nasionalisme pada Film 1911Revolution (辛亥革命). Latar belakang penelitian ini beranjak dari ketertarikanterhadap karya sastra yang berlatar tentang perjuangan kaum revolusioner untukmencapai kemerdekaan. Dua hal yang menjadi rumusan masalah penelitian ini yaitu(1) apa saja aspek nasionalisme pada film Xinhai Geming dan (2) faktor apa sajayang mempengaruhi nasionalisme tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mencari,mengungkapkan, dan mendeskripsikan rumusan masalah tersebut secara utuh danterperinci. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metodedeskriptif kualitatif. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori sosiologisastra menurut Wellek dan Warren. Sumber data yang digunakan dalam penelitianini adalah film Xinhai Geming yang disutradarai oleh Zhang Li dan Jackie Chan yangberdurasi 125 menit dan dirilis oleh Shanghai Film Group pada tanggal 23 September2011. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat aspek nasionalisme dan faktor yangmempengaruhi nasionalisme dalam film yang diwakili oleh beberapa potongankutipan dan adegan yang menunjukkan nasionalisme pada film. This study aims to describe the struggles experienced by the two main characters in the novel in getting their freedom and also to elaborate the important of freedom for the main characters as human rights. The research method used was a qualitative descriptive method with the sociology of literature approach. The primary data were collected from descriptions and utterances of the main characters and narrators in the novel. The supporting data were obtained from the library, internet, journals, and articles. The results of this research indicate that there is struggle of the main characters in obtaining their freedom as a human in this novel. Huckleberry Finn as the main character fought for his freedom from a drunk and abusive father, while Jim, as the second main character fought for his freedom from slavery. The two figures then met and made an adventure together to get their own freedom.

This study aimed to describe the form of word classes that was deeply conformed in the  Tukang Besi Island languange, Kaledupa dialect at Wakatobi Regency. This research method was qualitative descriptive method. The data source was taken from the native speakers  of Tukang Besi Island language, Kaledupa dialect and it was in oral data. Methods and techniques of data collection were observation methods with participantive observation techniques, recording , and noting techniques. Data analysis techniques were data selection, data classification, meaning, and data analysis. The results proved that the form ofhomonimic word class in  Tukang Besi Island languange, Kaledupan dialect were adjectives with nouns, nouns with nouns, verbs with adjectives, verbs with nouns, nouns with numerals, verbs with verbs, verbs with adverbs, particles with nouns. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan wujud kelas kata yang berhomonim dalam Bahasa Kepulauan Tukang Besi Dialek Kaledupa di Kabupaten Wakatobi. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber datanya diambil dari para penutur asli bahasa Kepulauan Tukang Besi Dialek Kaledupa dan jenis datanya berupa data lisan. Metode dan teknik pengumpulan data, yaitu metode observasi dengan teknik observasi partisipatif, teknik rekam, dan teknik catat. Teknik analisis data, yaitu penyeleksian data, pengklasifikasian data, pemaknaan, dan penganalisisan data. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa wujud kelas kata yang berhomonim dalam bahasa Kelupauan Tukang Besi Dialek Kaledupa, yaitu adjektiva dengan nomina, nomina dengan nomina, verba dengan adjektiva, verba dengan nomina, nomina dengan numeralia, verba dengan verba, verba dengan adverbia, dan partikel dengan nomina.

Mistisisme dalam tataran masyarakat Jawa menjadi salah satu hal yang tidak dapat dipisahkan dalam setiap perilaku yang terjadi di tengah masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan praktik mistisisme Jawa dalam novel Mantra Pejinak Ular karya Kuntowijoyo. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, pendekatan yang digunakan adalah sosiologi sastra. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah novel Mantra Pejinak Ular karya Kuntowijoyo yang diterbitkan oleh Penerbit Buku Kompas. Data dalam penelitian ini mencakup satuan cerita yang terwujud dalam dialog, monolog, paragraf, sekuen cerita, bagian kalimat, maupun narasi tokoh yang menggambarkan praktik mistisisme Jawa dalam novel Mantra Pejinak Ular karya Kuntowijoyo. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan langkah (a) membaca sumber data; (b) unitizing (mengambil data yang tepat dengan cara menandai teks; serta (c) mencatat dan menginventarisasi teks yang relevan. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan flow model of analysis yang dikemukakan oleh Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam novel Mantra Pejinak Ular karya Kuntowijoyo menunjukkan praktik mistisisme Jawa pada tingkatan sarengat/syariat dan tingkatan hakekat. Praktik mistisisme Jawa pada tingkatan sarengat/syariat dibuktikan dengan (1) percaya pada benda mitologi dan (2) percaya pada mitos-mitos. Pada tingkatan hakekat dibuktikan dengan ibadah yang dilakukan untuk menemui Tuhan dalam bentuk salat istikharah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa praktik mistisisme Jawa yang dominan dilakukan oleh masyarakat Jawa dalam novel Mantra Pejinak Ular karya Kuntowijoyo adalah pada tingkatan sarengat/syariat dan hakekat.                                     Mysticism at the level of Javanese society is one thing that cannot be separated in every behavior that occurs in society. This study aims to describe the practice of Javanese mysticism in the novel Mantra Pejinak Ular by Kuntowijoyo. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method, the approach used is the sociology of literature. The data source in this study is the novel Mantra Pejinak Snake by Kuntowijoyo published by Kompas Book Publishers. The data in this study include story units that are manifested in dialogues, monologues, paragraphs, story sequences, sentence sections, and character narratives that describe the practice of Javanese mysticism in the novel Mantra Pejinak Ular by Kuntowijoyo. Data collection is done by steps (a) reading the data source; (b) unitizing (taking the right data by marking the text; and (c) recording and inventorying relevant texts. Data analysis was carried out using the flow model of analysis proposed by Miles and Huberman. The results showed that in the novel Mantra Pejinak Ular Kuntowijoyo's work shows the practice of Javanese mysticism at the sarengat/syariat level and the essence level. The practice of Javanese mysticism at the sarengat/syariat level is proven by (1) believing in mythological objects and (2) believing in myths. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that the dominant practice of Javanese mysticism carried out by the Javanese people in the novel Mantra Pejinak Ular by Kuntowijoyo is at the level of sarengat/syariat and essence.

This paper aims to determine the condition of victims of drug abuse, the model of Islamic counseling that is applied and the results of its application. The research method used qualitative descriptive method involving data source from the caretaker Pondok Remaja Inabah XIV Garut, counselor, and anak bina that directly related to the research focus. The results of this study indicate that the condition of victims of drug abuse is negatively affected both biologically, psychologically, socially, and spiritually. The model of Islamic counseling for the rehabilitation of victims of drug abusers in Pondok Remaja Inabah XIV Garut is included in the model of personality development as well as the model of countermeasures that has elements of the model that is the rationale, vision, mission and goals, methods and techniques, materials, media, stages and processes, and evaluation. The result of the implementation of Islamic counseling model for the rehabilitation of drug abuse victims in Pondok Remaja Inabah XIV Garut is shown with positive condition of the children of bina both biologically, psychologically, socially, and spiritually.   Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi korban penyalahgunaan narkoba, model konseling Islam yang diterakan serta hasil penerapannya. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif yang melibatkan sumber data dari pembina Pondok Remaja Inabah XIV Garut, pembimbing/konselor, dan anak bina yang berkaitan langsung dengan fokus penelitian. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa kondisi korban penyalahgunaan narkoba terkena dampak negatif baik secara biologis, psikokogis, sosial, serta spiritual. Model konseling Islam untuk rehabilitasi korban penyalahguna narkoba di Pondok Remaja Inabah XIV Garut termasuk pada model perkembangan kepribadian serta model penaggulangan yang memiliki unsur-unsur model yaitu dasar pemikiran, visi, misi dan tujuan, metode dan teknik, materi, media, tahapan dan proses, serta evaluasi. Hasil penerapan model konseling Islam untuk rehabilitasi korban penyalahgunaan narkoba di Pondok Remaja Inabah XIV Garut ditunjukan dengan kondisi positif anak bina baik secara biologis, psikologis, sosial, dan spiritual.

This research is entitled Analysis of Multicultural Values in the novel Assalamualaikum Beijing. This study aims to (1) know multicultural values (2) describe the multicultural values contained in the novel Assalamualaikum Beijing. The main data source in this study is the Assalamualaikum Beijing novel published in 2013 by Asma Nadia with a thick 360-page book. The novel was chosen because the content of the story presented was very interesting giving fresh meaning to the state of multicultural value difference in Beijing with in Indonesia. The focus of this study is related to Multicultural values found in the Assalamualaikum Beijing novel. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques used in this study are using library techniques and content analysis (analysis content). The results of this study are aimed at the public that the multicultural values contained in the Assalamualaikum Beijing novel include values of tolerance, democratic values, religious values, and cultural values. The researcher conducts this research with the aim that the public realize the importance of multiculturalism values such as tolerance values, democratic values, religious values, and cultural values applied in life.

The purpose of this research is to know politeness strategy used by students to communicate with lecturers through short messages WA (WhatsApp). The data source in this research is the speech from students to lecturers. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method through three stages, namely data collection, data analysis, and presentation of the results of the analysis. The results showed that students used the politeness strategies of Brown and Levinson when communicating with their lecturers via text messages WA (WhatsApp). The words "please" and "ask for help" are used when speaking frankly, the use of the word "sorry" ethics is speaking with positive politeness, using direct names for speech with negative politeness, and using ambiguous words in communicating vaguely. From the research results, it can be seen that students have a politeness strategy that is used when communicating with lecturers.   Keywords: politeness politeness strategies, students and lecturers, WhatsApp   Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bentuk strategi kesantuan berbahasa yang mahasiswa gunakan dalam berkomunikasi dengan dosen melalui pesan singkat WA (WhatsApp). Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah tuturan dari mahasiswa kepada dosen. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif melalui tiga tahapan, yaitu  pengumpulan data, analisis data, dan penyajian hasil analisis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa menggunakan strategi kesantunan berbahasa Brown dan Levinson ketika berkomunikai dengan dosen mereka melalui pesan singkat WA (WhatsApp). Kata “silakan” dan “minta tolong” digunakan ketika bertutur dengan terus terang, penggunaan kata “maaf” Ketika bertutur dengan kesantunan positif,  penggunaan nama langsung untuk tuturan dengan kesantunan negatif, dan menggunakan kata-kata yang ambigu dalam berkomunikasi dengan samar-samar. Dari hasil penelitian dapat diketahui bahwa mahasiswa mempunyai strategi kesantunan berbahasa yang digunakan ketika berkomunikasi dengan dosen.    Kata Kunci: strategi kesantunan berbahasa, mahasiswa dan dosen, WhatsApp

This research entitled “The News Report of Metro TV Reporter: The research of effective sentence”. The aim of this research was to find out the description, error, and percentage of effective and ineffective sentence in the news report of Metro TV reporter. The used theory refer to some ideas from the experts, those are Keraf (1980), Razak (1986), Sugono (2001), Putrayasa (2014), and Agency of Language Development and Coaching (2014). The used method to collect the data in this research was observation method, then the data was analyzed with qualitative descriptive method, quantitative method, and agih method. Method of presenting analyzed data that used in this research were formal and informal method. Data source in this research was from twelve videos of news report of Metro TV reporter in 2018. The result of this research showed that Metro TV reporter's understanding of the use of effective sentences reach 30, 22% from 12 news reports. This is proven by the discovery of 97 ineffective sentences out of 139 sentences. The error of ineffective sentence in news report of Metro TV reporter was divided into four kinds, those were the accuracy of information 7 sentences (5.03%), stiffness 6 sentences (4,32%), efficiency 48 sentences (34.53%), multiple errors and plural 36 sentences (25.90%). The total percentage of the error ineffective sentence as a whole was 69.78%. Based on this percentage, the highest frequency of errors was in the aspect of efficiency.
