Ideology is always an issue that plays an important role in the life of a society, and that ideology also greatly influences the process of ruling the country of dynasties in the history. Unlike previous dynasties, which lasted only a few decades, the Ly dynasty represents a flourishing period of feudalism lasting more than 200 years. A major event was that King Ly Thanh Tong changed the country name from Dai Co Viet to Dai Viet in 1054, ushering in a brilliant era in Vietnamese history.  The ideology of “taking people as the root” of Vietnamese feudal dynasties highlights the unyielding and indomitable fighting spirit for the right to enjoy independence and freedom in the old land of Giao Chi and Cuu Chan, which later was Dai Viet and is now Vietnam. It also reflects the desire for people to live in peace and harmony. This articles focuses on studying the ideology of “taking people as the root” through the reign of kings of the Ly dynasty in Vietnam. From there, the article points out the achievements and limitations in the process of taking care of people, as well as historical lessons for the development of the country today.

Confucianism is a culture taken from the name of a thinker, namely Confucius and is considered the basis of Confucian teachings. The basic view of Confucianism is to invite people to live an orderly, peaceful and happy life and placing the rulers as one of the key factors in achieving the ideals of the country. The aim of this study is to identify and evaluate the chronology of Confucianism and its implications for China's geopolitical sustainability. The method used is qualitative with constructivist ideas to create a comprehensive thought allocation on the impact of Confucianism from the perspective of cultural superiority. The results obtained are that, over time, Confucianism has developed into a tool for the Chinese state to carry out geopolitical instruments to achieve geostrategy for the expansion of territorial boundaries. On the one hand, Confucianism can become a superior culture that places the fighting spirit of the people. On the other hand, this flow can become a trigger for war when each region that is to be recruited for China's expansion has a culture and beliefs that are different from their own. Keywords: Confucianism, China, Geopolitics, Geostrategy.

Abstract Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of a couple-coping intervention aiming to improve uncertainty tolerance in women diagnosed with breast cancer and their spouses on the patients’ mental adaption to their disease. Methods: The present study was conducted on 90 women with breast cancer referred to educational, medical and research centers in Urmia, IRAN, which 45 patients were randomly assigned to each treatment and control groups. Outcome measures were assessed at baseline and 6 weeks using short form mental adjustment to cancer (Mini-MAC) questionnaire. The intervention was performed in 6 group-based sessions consisting of patients and their spouses. Results: comparing the change from before to after intervention revealed that the effect of the intervention was significant in reducing hopeless-helpless (-5.42 ± 2.42 in intervention group VS -0.13 ± 0.46 in control group, P<0.001) and anxious preoccupation (-6.80 ± 2.87 VS -0.16 ± 0.82, P<0.001). It has also been significant in increasing fatalism (4.89 ± 2.09 VS 0.22 ± 1.24) and fighting spirit (3.58 ± 2.05 VS 0.11 ± 1.61). The effect of intervention on changing avoidance scale was not significant (P = 0.83).Conclusion: Couple-centered intervention program based on increasing uncertainty tolerance can be used to improve the situation in order to increase the patients' adjustment and it has an effective support for breast cancer patients in helping to cope with cancer. Cancer is associated with discomfort and many changes in patients’ lives to which they must adapt. The main objective of the study was to assess the use of the mini-MAC questionnaire scale among persons diagnosed with malignant cancer and to develop standards allowing differentiation of patients with diagnosed cancer in terms of their style of adjustment to the disease. The mini-MAC questionnaire is a widely used tool in assessing coping strategies among cancer patients. Sten standards have been developed to determine the level of results on the questionnaire scales in the low–average–high categories. The study included 1187 patients diagnosed with malignant cancer who are covered by outpatient care at the Maria Sklodowska-Curie Institute—Oncology Center in Warsaw. The questionnaire concerning mental adjustment to cancer was used (mini-MAC). Patients with cancer most often adopt strategies of fighting spirit and positive reevaluation. The variables that differentiate the results most significantly include gender, presence of metastasis, and the state of undergoing chemotherapy. The mini-MAC questionnaire should be a tool for psycho-oncological diagnosis of patients’ attitudes towards cancer. The obtained results indicate that cancer patients are characterized by their constructive style of adjustment to the disease.

Background: Breast, ovarian, and endometrial cancer are among the most common causes of morbidity and mortality of women in Poland. In 2016, breast cancer was the most common cause of morbidity and the second leading cause of cancer deaths in women, endometrial cancer was the third most common cause of morbidity and the seventh leading cause of death, and ovarian cancer was the fifth most common cause of morbidity and the fourth leading cause of cancer deaths in women. The aim of the study was to assess the strategy of pain control, acceptance of the cancer and adjustment to life with disease in women with ovarian cancer, endometrial and breast cancer. This study shows how level of pain control, acceptance, and adjustment can differ among patients with the three kinds of cancer and which factors have the most influence on patients’ adjustment to the disease. Methods: The study was carried out with 481 patients diagnosed with ovarian cancer, endometrial and breast cancer. In the study BPCQ, CSQ, AIS and Mini-MAC questionnaires were used. Results: In the BPCQ questionnaire the highest result was acquired in the scope of the impact of doctors (M = 16.45, SD = 4.30), differentiated by cancer location and socio-economic variables. In the CSQ test, the highest result was achieved by praying/hoping, differentiated by cancer location and socio-economic variables. The average AIS acceptance score was M = 27.48 (SD = 7.68). The highest result of the Mini-Mac scale was obtained by patients in the area of fighting spirit (M = 22.94, SD = 3.62), and these results depended on socio-economic and treatment-related variables but were not differentiated by cancer location. Conclusions: Patients attribute the highest importance in the disease to the influence of physicians, praying/hoping, and fighting spirit. The awareness of the pain management strategies of patients with cancer allows appropriate psychological support to be designed for specific groups of patients.

Team success at the Olympic Games is a combination of material, demographic and cultural factors with non-material factors — will, fighting spirit, passion, patriotism. Exactly the same combination of factors determines the ability of a state to wage a war. Therefore, military capabilities of the state (as well as economic and technological ones), according to the author, can be assessed by results at the Olympic Games.

Background: Patients with glioma have a poor prognosis and, in a short period of time, have to deal with severe forms of disability, which compromise their psychological distress and quality of life. The caregivers of these patients consequently carry a heavy burden in terms of emotional and patient care. The study aims to evaluate the coping strategies of patients and their caregivers during the course of the disease in order to frame the adaptation process in a rapidly progressing pathology. Methods: A prospective study on 24 dyads of patients affected by malignant glioma and their caregivers was conducted between May 2016 and July 2018. Questionnaires designed to identify the coping style (MINI-MaC Scale) and psychological distress (HADS scores) and assess QOL (EQ-5D) were administered at two time points: at first lines of treatment and at disease recurrence. Results: Patients and their caregiver structure adaptive coping strategies during the disease: a coping style oriented toward a fighting spirit prevails at baseline (Mini-Mac Mean 3.23); fatalism prevails at recurrence (Mini-Mac Mean 3.03). Psychological distress affects the coping style expressed: high levels of anxiety symptoms were found to be significantly associated with a coping style oriented toward anxious preoccupation, helpless–hopeless, and fatalism; low depressive symptoms were inversely correlated with fighting spirit coping style. Patients' and caregivers' perceptions of quality of life were correlated between them and with performance status assessed by clinicians. In a dyadic perspective, the adaptation of a member of the couple varies as a function of the other partner's coping style. Conclusions: Our data are in line with previous literature on cancer patients, demonstrating that coping style is not a persistent dimension of personality, but can change depending on the situation. Despite the disease rapid course, patients and their caregivers can structure adaptive and functional defenses to manage the disease.

The telling of ‘tangon’ (folklore) is a common practice in the Kimaragang community. In general, the ‘tangon’ of the Kimaragang symbolises the socio-culture, philosophy and description of the heroism values for the community. However, nowadays, the values in ‘tangon’ are often forgotten, especially by the younger generation. This study thereforefocused on the heroism values as portrayed in the folklore of the Kimaragang. Using a qualitative approach, the field work and interview methods were utilised to document the ‘tangon’. Data was analysed using the Alamiahapproach, one of the approaches in the ’Pengkaedahan Melayu’ theory by Hashim Awang as a means to understand heroism aspects such as bravery, sacrificial spirit, fighting spirit, and openness as embodied in the folklore. The findings of this study prove that the element of heroism is important to master especially in the norms of a chaotic society in order to improve self-esteem and maintain honour. Indeed, the Kimaragang in the past practised heroism values to ensure a peaceful and prosperous life. Applying these values in life today is one of the efforts to activate and sustain an increasingly forgotten heritage.
