Abstract: With the continuous progress and development of the times, China's social development is more and more rapid. Among them, the implementation of the Marxist concept of popularization plays an important role in promoting social spiritual and cultural development and maintaining social stability and progress. Education, as an important driving force of social progress, especially higher education, integrates the concept of Marxist popularization in its ideological and political education, which plays an important role in improving students' spiritual and cultural literacy, and provides an important vitality for the realization of Marxist popularization in China. This paper analyzes the current situation of ideological and political education in colleges and universities from the perspective of the popularization of Marxism, and explores how to innovate and realize Marxism in ideological and political education in colleges and universities.

At present, with the continuous improvement and rapid development of the socialist market economy in China, especially the sudden rise of electronic information technology, the new communication tools are changing with each passing day. In this process, new media information technology, with its unique advantages, “broke” into the vision of modern people, participated in and influenced people’s way of life, behavior habits and social operation, and brought the development of human society into a new stage, the new media age. In today’s era, the new media has been developing rapidly in terms of technology and content, and its content is timeliness and interesting. It matches the characteristics of contemporary college students in pursuit of freshness and individuality, so that it has won the general favor of college students. However, when the new media information technology affects and permeates all aspects of the University, the ideological and political education of college students does not seem to keep pace with the times. The importance of the management of ideological and political theory courses in colleges and universities is objective to the importance of ideological and political theory courses. At present, the management of ideological and political theory courses in colleges and universities has big problems in both macro and micro aspects. This paper combines artificial intelligence technology to build an intelligent management system for ideological and political education in colleges and universities based on artificial intelligence, and conducts classroom supervision through intelligent recognition of student status. The KNN outlier detection algorithm based on KD-Tree is proposed to extract the state information of class students. Through data simulation, it can be known that the KD-KNN outlier detection algorithm proposed in this paper significantly improves the efficiency of the algorithm while ensuring the accuracy of the KNN algorithm classification. Through experimental research, it can be seen that the construction of this system not only clarifies the direction of management from a macro perspective, but also reveals specific methods of management from a micro perspective, and to a certain extent effectively solves the problems in the management of ideological and political theory courses in colleges and universities.
