The purposes of this study was to find out and analyze empirically the effects of cooperative script strategy in enhancing the students’ ability in writing analytical exposition text to the eleventh grade students of SMK N 3 OKU who were taught by using cooperative strategy. The study used experimental design with one group pre-test and post-test. The population of the study were 368 students, there were 12 classes with the 35 sample students, the sample took by using cluster random sampling technique. The data collection method used written test in pre-test and post-test. To analyze the test the researcher used t-test in SPSS 21. First, the writers gave pre-test to the students. The second, the writers taught writing by using cooperative script strategy and the third, they gave post-test to the students to know effectiveness of the strategy which was used. The mean of the pre-test was good (65,20). Meanwhile, the mean of post-test was very good (85,31). It could be seen from the result analysis using paired sample t test that output was 0.000 lower than 0,05. From the score, it can be concluded that null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. Based on the result finding from this study, the cooperative script strategy was significantly effective to teach writing an analytical exposition text and the writers recommends the teacher use cooperative script strategy in teaching process and also for the students to apply cooperative script strategy to help the students to conveying their idea and improving their writing ability.

The objectives of this research were to find out whether the use of Prezi with KWL Strategy enhances the reading comprehension and the students’ interest. This research employed quasi experimental design. The population of this research was the first grade students of SMA 2 Enrekang in academic 2017/2018. This research employed cluster random sampling technique. The sample consisted of 72 students which belong to two classes; 36 students in experimental class and also 36 students in control class. Research instruments were used to collect the data in this research namely reading comprehension test and questionnaire. The result of the students’ reading score in this research showed that the experimental class improved significantly from 69.69 up to 86.61. While, in control class the result improved from 66.22 up to 75.89. Therefore, the significant values of Independent t-test 0.000 < α = 0.05. It means that the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted. Moreover, based on the students’ response on questionnaire showed that the mean score of interest was 80.61 and it was categorized as interested.

The purpose of this research was to find out whether or not it is significantly effective to teach reading comprehension by using Predict, Locate, Add Note strategy to the Eighth Grade Students of SMP Negeri 2 Lubuklinggau in the academic year of 2016/2017. The researcher used pre experimental method with one group pre-test and post-test design. The population was all the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Lubuklinggau which consisted of 440 students. The sample was taken through cluster random sampling. The sample was 40 students. The data was collected through test consisted of 20 items of multiple choices. The data were analyzed through four techniques: 1) students’ individual score, 2) minimum mastery criteria, 3) normality, and 4) matched t-test calculation. The result of this research: (1) the mean students’ score in the pre-test was 62.3, (2) The mean score of post-test was 77.3, and (3) the result of Matched t-test was 10.86, which was higher than 1.684 value of the t-table of 39 (40-1) with 95% significant level for one tailed-test. Therefore, null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. It means that it was significantly effective to teach reading comprehension by using Predict, Locate, Add Note Strategy to the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Lubuklinggau in academic year of 2016/2017.

This study is aimed at finding out the effect of Engage, Study, Activate technique on students’ achievement in writing narrative text. This research applied experimental design. The instrument used to collect the data was a written test. The population was the 2015/2016 second year students (grade VIII) of SMP N 1 Sei Rampah. There were nine paralel classes that consisted of 30 students. The total number of the population were 270 students. The total number of the sample were 60 students. The researcher selected the sample by choosing only 2 classes  by using sampling technique. The sample was divided into two groups, experimental group and control group. The experimental group was taught by applying Engage, Study, Activate technique while the control group was taught without applying Engage, Study, Activate technique. The data were taken by administering the pre-test and post-test to both control and experimental groups. These data were analyzed by using t-test. The result of computing the t-test obviously showed that t-observed (4.383) is higher than t-table (1.671) with the degree of freedom (df= 58) at the level significance 0.05 one tail test. It means that alternative hypothesis stating that there is a significant effect of Engage, Study, Activate technique on students’ achievement in writing narrative text is accepted. The study was aimed to examine the effectiveness of the English conversation to improve students’ speaking skill focusing on whether English conversation effective in speaking skill and how is the effectiveness of the English conversation to improve students’ speaking skill. The research was designed in a pre-experimental pre-test and posttest research, where the research only applied the English conversation to the experimental group that consisted of 28 students. The sample of the study was taken by using cluster random sampling technique. It was taken randomly of 148 second grader students of MTs. Negeri Masbagik as the population of the study. The gaining data of pre-test and post-test was taken by requiring the students to make and practice a conversation in front of the class based on the material that was learnt before. Later, the pre-test and post-test data was analyzed by using descriptive statistics and Paired Sample t-test to test the hypothesis. Having collected and calculated the data by using descriptive statistics, the present researcher found out that descriptive statistic result showed the mean score of the pre-test was 7.21 while the mean of the post-test was 9.25. The result of hypothesis testing by using Paired-Sample t-test was t(27) = 11.68 at p = .000. It was lower than .05 so it means that the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. In other word that the English conversation was significantly effective in speaking skill.

ABSTRACT The problem of this research was “is it significantly effective to teach vocabulary through the Concept Attainment Model (CAM) at SMP IT Annajiyah Lubuklinggau in academic year 2019/2020?” The objective of this research was to find out whether or not it is significantly effective to teach vocabulary through the Concept Attainment Model (CAM) at SMP IT Annajiyah Lubuklinggau in academic year 2019/2020. The population of this research was all of the seventh grades consist of 43 students of SMP IT Annajiyah Lubuklinggau in academic year 2019/2020 and total number of sample was 18 students from VIII.A. The sample in this research was taken through cluster random sampling. In this research, the researcher used pre-experimental method. In collecting the data, the researcher used written test. In analyzing the data, the researcher used three techniques. They were: individual score, normality test and matched t-test. Based on the result of the data analysis, the researcher found out that the students’ average score was 59.166 in the pre-test and it increased in the post-test which score was 78.888. The result of matched t-test was 7.498, while ttable was 1.734. It means that the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. Furthermore, it was significantly effective to teach vocabulary through the Concept Attainment Model (CAM) at SMP IT Annajiyah Lubuklinggau in academic year 2019/2020.

The objective of this research was intended to know whether or not using outdoor learning strategy can improve the students’ writing skill at SMA Negeri 1 Maiwa Kabupaten Enrekang. This research applied quasi experimental method with one class of experimental group and one class of control group. The researcher used pre-test and post-test in collecting data. The research population was the students of tenth grade they were X.1 class and X.2 class consist of 46 students, so the researcher took random sampling technique. The data were analyzed by finding the mean score. For collecting the data, the researcher used one instrument namely descriptive writing test to measure the students’ writing ability. The result of this research showed that the student’ writing description was low classification in pre-test with the mean score 64.6 for experimental class and the mean score of control class was 60.8, and it was average categorized. However, after doing the treatment through outdoor learning strategy they got good classification for Experimental group and still average classification for control group in post-test; their mean score had increased up to 78.4, for Experimental and 69.9 for control group. The data was analyzed by using t-test and the result showed that the t-test value 4.037 was higher than t-table value 2.021. It meant that there was a significance difference of students’ writing ability before and after the treatment through the application of outdoor learning. It concluded that outdoor learning strategy can be used in improving writing description of the students.

The objective of this research was aimed to investigate the effect of peer review on students’ motivation and ability in writing recount text.  The method of the research was a quasi-experimental design with a control and experimental group and a post-test only. The population of this research was the entire eight grade students of SMPN 1 Tanggunggunung. The cluster random sampling was used in the sampling technique. There were two classes of eight grade students as the sample of this research. They were VIII D that consists of 32 students as the control class and VIII G that consists of 30 students as the experimental class. Tests and questionnaires were the instruments of this research. The data collected from the tests were analyzed by using independent sample t-test and MANOVA through SPSS.  Results show that the independent sample t-test was 0.001 for motivation and 0.000 for the writing ability. Moreover, the result of the MANOVA test was 0.000. The results were consulted to the score of the significant value generated Sig. (P-value) < α = 0.05. Thus, Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. In other words, the result of the study revealed that peer review gave a significant effect on the students’ motivation and ability in writing recount text. It can be concluded that there is a significant effect on the students’ writing motivation and writing ability who taught using peer review.

This research aimed at explaining the use of Glass’ Analysis Method in improving the students’ pronunciation in speaking at the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Salomekko Kab. Bone. The researcher used pre-experimental design with one group pretest and posttest design. The population was the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Salomekko Kab. Bone., in academic year 2017/2018, which consisted of six classes. The sample was taken by purposive sampling technique and the total number of sample was 26 students. It conducted in six meetings. It was administered speaking test as instrument. The findings of the data indicated that there was significant difference between students’ post-test and pre-test.  The mean score in post-test (8.10) was greater than the mean score in pre-test (5.42). From t-test, the researcher found that the value of t-test (8.61) was greater than t-table (2.060) at the level of significance 0.05 with degree of freedom (df) = 25. Thus, the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected. It means that there was a significant difference in the students’ pronunciation in speaking before and after being taught by using Glass’ Analysis Method

Writers need to have a warming up before beginning to write. It is the fundamental thing to be done by students as writers for stimulating their critical thinking. It is also useful for them to be easier in developing their ideas at writing activities. The objective of this research investigation was to find out an effectiveness of writing warm-ups strategy on students’ writing skill: report text. Research method used was pre-experimental with only one group pre-test and post-test design. Population was all the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri H. Wukirsari which consisted of 139 students. Sample was taken through cluster random sampling, and number of sample was only 28 students. Written test (report text) was given to students’ sample in collecting the data. In analyzing the data, researcher used individual score, Mastery Minimum Criteria, and matched t-test. Based on the data analysis, the students’ mean score of pre-test was 54.67 and students’ mean score of post-test was 75.10. Result of t-test was 3.88 and t-table was 1.701 since the degree of freedom significant level of it one tailed test. Hence, matched t-test was higher than t-table. For other words, it meant that alternative hypothesis was accepted, and null hypothesis was rejected. In conclusion, it was completely effective to apply writing warm-ups strategy on students’ writing skill of report text.
