The results of assessing the effect of biological preparations and a seed disinfectant on the technological qualities of grain of soft spring wheat Novosibirskaya 31 are presented. The effectiveness of the use of biological plant protection products was studied in the field experiment, laid down in 2020 in the forest-steppe conditions of the Ob region. Pre-sowing seed treatment included the following options: control (without treatment); Trichodermin, P (Trichoderma viride, titer more than 6 billion spores/g), consumption rate – 15 kg/t seed; Sporobacterin, SP (Bacillus subtilis + Trichoderma viride, strain 4097), consumption rate – 0.5 kg/ton of seeds; Scarlet, ME, chemical standard (imazalil (100 g/l) + tebuconazole (60 g/l), consumption rate – 0.3 l/t of seeds. The use of the preparations contributed to an increase in yield by 0.40 and 0.52 t/ha when using Trichodermin and Sporobacterin, respectively, and by 0.08 t/ha when using fungicide Scarlet. In this case, the mass of 1000 grains increased by 0.84, 0.80 and 0.96 g, respectively, relative to the control. The preparations Trichodermin and Sporobacterin had a significant effect on the growth of grain in length and width relative to the control – by 5.4-6.9 and 9.6%, Scarlet – by 10.6 and 13.9%, respectively. Pre-sowing seed treatment contributed to the growth of such indicators of the caryopsis as volume (by 19.6–29.3%), surface area (by 12.1–19.2%), and sphericity (by 6.3–7.8%). To a greater extent, they increased with the use of fungicide Scarlet. Getting larger grain led to an increase in the endosperm content by 0.76–1.14%. A close correlation has been shown between the indicators of the mass of 1000 grains and the linear grain sizes (r = 0.92–0.98), as well as with the grain volume, sphericity and endosperm content (r = 0.98–0.99). Pre-sowing treatment of spring wheat seeds provides grain with improved technological properties.

Goal. To determine the technical efficiency of the novel fungicides against root rot of pumpkins in the area of the Right Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. Methods. The experiments were conducted in 2016—2018 in the Right-Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine (Khmelnytsky region) on the following varieties: common pumpkins — Ukrainskyi bahatoplidnyi, hull-less pumpkins — Shtyriiskyi. Assessment of severity, spread of root rot, technical and farm efficiency was carried out according to generally accepted methods. To control the development of the disease, the following preparations were investigated: Maxim 480 FS, FS, Inshur perform, TK, Phytocide, s., Trichoderma blend Bio-Green Microzyme TR, EC. Results. During the study period, root rot was observed on pumpkins of both studied varieties annually. In the laboratory, it was found that the causative agents of root rot on pumpkins were fungi of the genus Fusarium Link. The development of the disease in control ranged from 11.2 to 17.6%. When biological preparations were used on the variety Ukrainskyi bahatoplidnyi, technical efficiency was at the level of 52.6—62.8%, on the variety Shtyriiskyi — 43.4—59.2%. The best effect against fusarium root rot was recorded for seed treatment with Trichoderma blend Bio-Green Microzyme TR. Pre-sowing treatment of seeds with Inshur Perform and Maxim 480 FS reduced the development of the disease by 3.6—4 times. On both varieties, biological products showed lower technical efficiency compared to chemical preparations. The use of pesticides made it possible to obtain a yield of pumpkin seeds with the use of biological products at the level of 0,431—0,435 t/ha on the variety Ukrainskyi bahatoplidnyi and 0,308—0,315 t/ha — on the variety Shtyriiskyi. When seeds were treated with chemical pesticides, the yield was 0,456—0,465 t/ha and 0,319—0,325 t/ha, respectively. That is, pre-sowing seed treatment allows to save from 4.1 to 12.9% of crop yield. Conclusions. Under conditions of the Right-Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine pumpkin plants are annually affected by fusarium root rot. The use of pesticides allows to save the seed yield in the range from 0.012 to 0.053 t/ha. The best technical efficiency was observed on the variants with the disinfectant Maxim 480 FS, TH with a consumption rate of 1.0 l/t and the biological product Trichoderma blend Bio-Green Microzyme TR, EC with a consumption rate of 50 ml/t.

The influence of pre-sowing seed treatment of spring wheat varieties ‘Ester’ and ‘Leningradskaya 6’ with silicon-containing chelate microfertilizer (SCM) on the seedlings’ growth and development was studied. Varietal differences of spring wheat in response to pre-sowing seed treatment with SCM were revealed. For both wheat varieties, this fertilizer stimulates the germination energy and germination itself. Thus, after SCM treatment at a concentration of 5 mg/l, there was a significant increase in ‘Ester’ seed germination energy (by 19 %) compared to control, as well as by 20–27 % in ‘Leningradskaya 6’ variety. More pronounced stimulating effect of SCM was observed for ‘Ester’ at a concentration of 1.0 mg/l; the same for ‘Leningradskaya 6’ – at a concentration of 3.0 and 5.0 mg/l.

The field experiments with barley of multiserial Vakula variety were conducted on gray forest soil of Kama region of theRepublic of Tatarstan. This experiment was carried out to identify the responsiveness of barley for fertilizers, methods of the basic soil cultivation and plant protection products. On average over three years of our research, the highest yield of barley (3.95 tons per hectare) was obtained in the flattered soil tillage and carrying out the calculated fertilizernorm in the way, when we used the seed protectant Stinger for pre- treatment of the soil. The yield was a little lower (3.88 tons per hectare), when we used Binoram for pre-sowing seed treatment, Albit was in the third place (3.80 tons per hectare), the fourth - Rizoagrin (3.65 tons per hectare), and the fifth - control (3.42 tons per hectare). The lowest barley yield (2.46 tons per hectare) were obtained on the background when not fertilized subsoiling tillage without the use of plant protection products. The use of seeds for incrustation, treated by Stinger chemical fungicide, increased the yield to 4.0 centner per hectare, compared with the control. When we used moldboard plowing, the yield declined in control to 4.7 centner per hectare and at fertilizered background to 4.9 centner per hectare, and at KSN soil treatment to3-5.3 centner per hectare. In arid 2010 the highest barley harvest was obtained at KSN-3 soil treating, on the second place is subsurface treatment and the third is plowing. Modern energy-saving methods of the basic soil cultivation, treating the calculated norms of fertilizers and use of plant protection products contribute to the production of planned productivity, saving fuel and lubricants, but they are unable to maintain phytosanitary conditions in barley fields within economic threshold. Taking inro account above-mentioned and the current state of agriculture in the steppe of the Volga region, it is necessary to alternate basic soil treatment methods, application of calculated norms of fertilizers and use protectants and biofungicides for pre-sowing treatment, considering fitoekzamination of seeds.

Abstract The purpose of the research is to study the effect of the fungicide Lamador and the humic preparation Rostok on the quality of spring wheat and spring barley in the conditions of the northern forest-steppe of the Tyumen region. According to the yield, we found that pre-sowing seeds treatment with Lamador protectant and joint treatment with Rostock contributed to an increase in yield by 0.70 t/ha of spring wheat and 0.15 t/ha of spring barley, in the option with the pre-sowing seeds treatment with Lamador protectant and Rostock preparation by 0.90 t/ha and 0.10 t/ha. The highest yield of spring wheat was noted in the third option – 4.10 t/ha, of spring barley in the second option – 3.52 t/ha. An increase in the thousand kernel weight was noted in the crops under study. The highest thousand kernel weight was observed for spring wheat and spring barley in the third option – 30.2 g and 54.3 g, respectively. The maximum protein content in the spring wheat grain was noted in the third option –13.3%, which is higher than the control option by 1.3%, for spring barley we also noted protein increase by 0.4-0.5%. Thus, the experimental application of the fungicide Lamador together with the preparation Rostok for wheat seeds treatment demonstrated a positive effect of the protectants on plants in the agro-climatic conditions of the forest-steppe zone of the Tyumen region and contributed to an increase in crop yield by 28% for spring wheat and 4% for spring barley, which proved the need for their use in the plant protection system, to increase the productivity and quality of the grain obtained.

The increase in the yield capacity of cereal spike crops under the current change of the climatic conditions in Ukraine will have a positive tendency in the nearest future. However, sustainable grain production under sharp weather fluctuations is possible only with the agro-technological systems' improvement. The pre-sowing seed treatment with chemical synthesis pesticides remains the primary method in the agricultural industry today. However, pesticides inevitably have a negative influence on the ecosystem of any level. A more environmentally friendly seed treatment method under the intensive technology is the combination of microwave seed irradiation and seed incrustation with the plant growth regulators that increase the cereal crops' yield capacity up to 15–20 %. It is possible to reduce the negative influence of chemical measures on the quality of the cereal crops seeds by using for the seed treatment a mixture of a treatment agent with the preparations having the stimulating properties. The most promising among all physical methods of the pre-sowing seed treatment is the microwave technology, which suppresses the entire complex of the seed infection and can become an alternative to the chemical method of plant protection. The universal character and practical importance of MW technologies combined with the growth-regulating substances consist not only in the increase in the yield capacity of the field crops but also in reducing the technogenic load on the environment. The peculiarity of EMF of EHF application in agricultural production is the necessity to consider the crops' specific electro-physical, technological, and biological properties. High heterogeneity greatly influences the electromagnetic action energy and the final result.
