The article presents a theoretical justification for the diameter of the nozzle holes of a hollow frame installed inside the filter rotor of a centrifuge. A theoretical dependence on the definition of this diameter is obtained. When determining the diameter, it was found that it is necessary to take into account the number of nozzles located on the hollow frame. This will ensure uniform and high-quality flushing of the filter rotor of the centrifuge.

The article is devoted to the problems of finding and introducing modern innovative approaches to the activities of local self-government bodies of Ukraine. It has been found that overcoming the problems of old and inefficient models and management methods that do not meet the requirements of modern communities is possible only through the development of high-quality and effective theoretical, methodical, organizational, and legal support for the process of local self-government. The definition of the concept of “local self-government” is summarized, using the regulatory margin and considering this concept in the context of modern realities, which now constantly face this institution of management. The author's interpretation of the category “local self-government” was developed for the needs of solving the problems and problems set out in the article. An organizational and legal mechanism for introducing innovative approaches to the activities of local self-government bodies has been developed as the main element of the definition of the category “local self-government.” Problems related to the effective functioning of institutions for the provision of “electronic” public services have been investigated. Innovative approaches to improving mechanisms for the provision of “electronic” public services by local authorities have been developed and justified. A general methodology for reengineering the administrative and management processes of local self-government bodies in the form of phases and stages of its implementation has been developed. It was concluded that the continuous development of the system of local self-government does not allow the development of sustainable types of innovative approaches to solve problem areas of local self-government “forever,” but requires the constant monitoring of foreign experience of advanced countries and the constant development of new and progressive innovative mechanisms that will continue to introduce decentralization reform and the creation of strong and effective local self-government bodies

This article presents the analysis of current scientific understanding of the term «risk» along with theoretical justification of its use in epidemiological studies. Epidemiology commonly uses definitions such as «risk factor», «group of risk», «risk area», and «risk period». However, these definitions were useful only for specific groups or nosoligical infectious diseases. In Noninfectious Pathology the terms had been used exclusively in the applied studies. There is a lack of publications which compile theoretical basics of such fundamental term category. The authors suggest a definition of epidemiologic «risk» which can be used in the epidemiology of both infectious and noninfectious diseases. It is a probability of negative influence on illness (and/or its impact) of specific groups of general population which is defined by external and/or internal factors in specific times and territories. The authors differentiate types of risk and their evaluation measures into categories for used in applied studies of epidemiology. The relationships and the unity of the basic categories of the epidemiologic risk are discussed. The authors conclude that riskology is the main branch of epidemiology and the category of «risk» is the basic paradigm of this science.

In today’s economic realities, achieving the necessary level of financial security of enterprises is a prerequisite for ensuring their sustainable operation and the formation of competitive development parameters in the internal and external market environment. The effectiveness of this process depends on building a high-quality financial architecture as the basic structural element of the company’s financial security system. In this regard, the subject of the study is an analysis of existing theoretical approaches to the definition of financial architecture and its relationship with the financial security of the enterprise. The methodological basis of the research is the scientific development of domestic and foreign scientists, the fundamental theoretical positions of economic science in the field of financial architecture formation, financial risk management, and financial security of the enterprise. The purpose of the article is to study the essence of financial architecture in order to substantiate its determining influence on the financial security of the enterprise and ensure its sustainable functioning in an unstable development of economic processes. The article analyses the theoretical aspects of financial architecture and finds that the interpretation of this economic category is due to the existence of clear causal relationships between its constituent elements and their impact on the financial support. Proceeding from this, the definition of financial architecture is drawn as a set of interconnected structural elements such as capital structure, ownership structure and quality of corporate governance, which accumulate and mobilize financial resources, increase control over the activity of the enterprise, solve conflicts of interest between owners and other stakeholders. It is determined that the choice of principles and methods for constructing financial architecture depends on such financial interests of economic entities as forming a flexible financial potential, optimizing the structure of capital, increasing investment attractiveness, maximizing profits, and increasing the market value of the enterprise. It is proved that the result of building a flexible financial architecture is to provide the appropriate level of financial security of an enterprise by identifying, quantifying, neutralizing, minimizing, and monitoring its financial risks. It is proposed to systematize indicators of financial security level assessment on the most typical of its functional components, among which investment, credit, emission, innovation, and currency can be distinguished. It has been established that ensuring the appropriate level of financial security will contribute to achieving financial sustainability, forming qualitative financial potential, providing competitive advantages, harmonizing interests of economic entities, and creating an effective system of economic security of the enterprise. It is concluded that the construction of high-quality financial architecture is the basis of financial security of an enterprise, the level of which depends on the proper management of financial risks and ensuring an adequate level of safety of all its functional components. As a criterion for the effectiveness of the process of ensuring the financial security of the company, sustainable development of the enterprise was determined in the conditions of an unstable economic environment.

The necessity and advantages of using the methodology in conducting financial research in modern conditions, in particular regarding the functioning of the fiscal mechanism for regulating investment processes, are determined. It is established that the methodology is considered by scientists in two approaches: 1) as a doctrine of research methods, which is inextricably linked with philosophical science; 2) as a set of research methods used in any science. The etymology of the concept of “methodology” is considered and approaches to the interpretation of its content are critically comprehended. It is substantiated that the structure of the research methodology, in particular the fiscal mechanism of regulation of investment processes, covers three aspects: functional, logical and process. The functional aspect of the research methodology is determined, which covers its consideration as a set of principles and methods aimed at achieving a specific practical or theoretical goal of research work. The logical aspect of research methodology is highlighted, which contains its understanding as a set of forms of organization of research work. The process aspect of research methodology is determined, which implies its interpretation as a series of successive stages aimed at achieving a certain practical or theoretical result of research work. Based on the study of reference and scientific literature, the author's definition of research methodology of the fiscal mechanism for regulating investment processes is proposed as a specific doctrine, which covers a set of principles, methods, forms and sequential stages of research (cognitive) activity, used to identify scientific facts, their theoretical justification and practical implementation. The functions of research methodology of the fiscal mechanism for regulating investment processes is established. The functions of research methodology of the fiscal mechanism for regulating investment processes are established. The factors of successful application of the methodology as “art” in the study of the fiscal mechanism for regulating investment processes are considered.

Despite theoretical justification for the evolution of animal culture, empirical evidence for it beyond mammals and birds remains scant, and we still know little about the process of cultural inheritance. In this study, we propose a mechanism-driven definition of animal culture and test it in the fruitfly. We found that fruitflies have five cognitive capacities that enable them to transmit mating preferences culturally across generations, potentially fostering persistent traditions (the main marker of culture) in mating preference. A transmission chain experiment validates a model of the emergence of local traditions, indicating that such social transmission may lead initially neutral traits to become adaptive, hence strongly selecting for copying and conformity. Although this situation was suggested decades ago, it previously had little empirical support.

We present a revised classification scheme for late WC-type stars based on new high quality optical observations of seven stars. For consistency with the usual WC scheme (Smith, ApJ 358 229 1990), our principal diagnostic is Cvi λ5801/Ciii λ5696, while Ciii λ5696/Cii λ4267, and He II λ4686/He I λ5876 serve as secondary criteria. Our quantitative scheme forms an natural extension to the existing WC scheme and provides an unambiguous definition of subtypes, with natural breaks found between subclasses.

The theory of the executive activity of a personality and the ability to determine its correlates are analyzed. High efficiency executive activity is considered as a predictor of a high quality of life and professional activity of an individual. The results of the study of the individual psychological properties of the personality associated with the characteristics of performing activities are presented. A combination of properties is highlighted: irritability, sociability, extraversion, which positively affect the type of execution. They form a triad closely associated with all the properties of executive activities. Some personality properties that inhibit the development of characteristics necessary for effectiveness are identified. Aggressiveness and high emotional lability are characteristic of students with low responsibility. According to the research results, mutually exclusive properties are organization and openness. The definition of determinants and correlates of performing activities opens up opportunities for psychologists and educators to create spaces for the development of a highly effective personality. Executive activity is a system construct. Understanding its structure allows us to see its flexibility and form individual trajectories of learning and personality development.

ABSTRACT The green valley (GV) represents an important transitional state from actively star-forming galaxies to passively evolving systems. Its traditional definition, based on colour, rests on a number of assumptions that can be subjected to non-trivial systematics. In Angthopo, Ferreras & Silk (2019), we proposed a new definition of the GV based on the 4000 Å break strength. In this paper, we explore in detail the properties of the underlying stellar populations by use of ∼230 thousand high-quality spectra from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS), contrasting our results with a traditional approach via dust-corrected colours. We explore high-quality stacked SDSS spectra, and find a population trend that suggests a substantial difference between low- and high-mass galaxies, with the former featuring younger populations with star formation quenching, and the latter showing older (post-quenching) populations that include rejuvenation events. Subtle but measurable differences are found between a colour-based approach and our definition, especially as our selection of GV galaxies produces a cleaner ‘stratification’ of the GV, with more homogeneous population properties within sections of the GV. Our definition based on 4000 Å break strength gives a clean representation of the transition to quiescence, easily measurable in the upcoming and future spectroscopic surveys.
