In the process of development of the chemical industry, due to the inclusion of new processes and innovative developments, often the environmental interests of society become of paramount importance, since recently the problems of environmental pollution have been increasingly exacerbated, therefore the main trend in solving this problem is a clear statement of the problem of management environmental risks of the chemical industry. This policy should be implemented within the framework of the environmental management system, which includes the stages of planning, organizing and implementing environmental activities.

Started in 2007, the PN2 MEMDUR project’s main objective is to design, develop, test and implement in Dambovita County an advanced management system which has to assure the evaluation of the environmental risk in order to administrate the crises situations, in accordance with the demands required by the sustainable development on local, regional and national level. This paper tries to emphasize one of the most important parts of the project which manages the recorded data collected from the measuring workstations. Those workstations measure several parameters in fixed or mobile points.

Today, environmental pollution is a global problem. Industrialization, rapid urbanization, technological advances, economic developments and increasing world population have brought environmental pollution with them. Environmental pollution has reached a level that threatens human health and safety. Environmental management systems are useful and important in many ways such as reducing the negative effects of businesses on the environment, creating a safe working environment, preventing pollution, reducing costs, reducing risks, improving environmental performance, and improving corporate image. The aim of this study is to emphasize the importance of ISO 14000 environmental management system standards for sustainable development and environment in business. In this direction, the study explains sustainable development, sustainable environment, the characteristics, importance, development, stages, standards and benefits of the ISO 14000 environmental management system for businesses.

There are environmental risks in the process of economic activity of enterprises that threaten the financial stability of enterprises and the rights of citizens to a favorable habitat. The introduction of environmental insurance will speed up and streamline the process of environmental recovery and create a mechanism for guaranteed elimination of environmental damage under these conditions. The article is based on the analysis of Russian and foreign experience of environmental risk management in the production of products and services. Environmental insurance is one of the most universal and widespread instruments in this field. The problems of legislative and methodological issues of the introduction of this kind of insurance in the Russian Federation are considered.

As long ago as the sixteenth century, Paracelsus recognized that ‘the dose makes the poison’. Indeed, environmental concentrations of pharmaceuticals excreted by humans are limited, most importantly because a defined dose is given to just a fraction of the population. By contrast, recent studies have identified direct emission from drug manufacturing as a source of much higher environmental discharges that, in some cases, greatly exceed toxic threshold concentrations. Because production is concentrated in specific locations, the risks are not linked to usage patterns. Furthermore, as the drugs are not consumed, metabolism in the human body does not reduce concentrations. The environmental risks associated with manufacturing therefore comprise a different, wider set of pharmaceuticals compared with those associated with risks from excretion. Although pollution from manufacturing is less widespread, discharges that promote the development of drug-resistant microorganisms can still have global consequences. Risk management also differs between production and excretion in terms of accountability, incentive creation, legal opportunities, substitution possibilities and costs. Herein, I review studies about industrial emissions of pharmaceuticals and the effects associated with exposure to such effluents. I contrast environmental pollution due to manufacturing with that due to excretion in terms of their risks and management and highlight some recent initiatives.

The aim of the study is to identify how we can use some methods of environmental risk management at the macro, meso and micro levels. It is necessary for minimizing and reducing the consequences of environmental disasters; identify opportunities and practical tools for neutralizing environmental risks and threats. The general scientific and special methods, such ascontent analysis method, system analysis method, retrospective analysis method, statistical survey methods, benchmarking were chosen and used as the scientific tools for this study. The research was informed by analytical developments of the Federation of European Risk Management Associations (FERMA), The Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO), the Federal State Statistics Service. The works of researchers in sustainable development, green economy and risk management filds were used as the theoretical and methodological basis of the study. The definitions of environmental management and sustainable development were the basis of the study. The development of an integrated approach to environmental risk management at all levels of the economy is the result of research. The integration of risk management helps to increase adaptability to the risks resulting from change. Some practices of implementing a risk-oriented approach in solving environmental problems at the state, regional and urban, enterprise and individual levels are un the article. Strategic development programmes, national projects and programmes are the practices at the state level; technological and digital innovation are the practices at the regional and urban levels; environmental compliance and environmental due diligence are the practices at the enterprise level; environmental thinking and culture is to form at the individual level. As an issue to be debated, the author considers the application of the acceptable risk principle (the assessment of environmental risks as «cost-benefit-risk»), and identifies the need to apply the zero environmental risk principle everywhere.

The real state of centralized water treatment systems in the country leads to irrational use of drinking water quality for technological needs, and consequently to hydraulic overloads of water treatment complexes and an increase in environmental risks associated with water resources. the paper offers a fundamentally new technical solution for water treatment, provides information on the results of recent scientific research in the field of analysis and management of risks associated with water resources, this will help specialists in this field to solve real problems in the implementation of innovative scientific developments and apply scientific experience in the practice of environmental risk management.
