Based on the structure of subject matter created by the teacher a student creates cognitive frames which become basis for his further learning. We pay attention to definition of epistemology of subject matter structure, questions of psycho-didactic approach to teaching, creating structure of subject matter and how does the teacher work with the text. Empirical part of the contribution investigates teachers' preferences of subject matter structure and statistically describes subjective perception of level of understanding of the subject matter by a student influenced by the particular subject matter structure realized by the teacher.

The Lord, the school and society are responsible for the type of individuals that gets into the high schools, and after the Lord and society have done all that we can expect them to do for some time to come, there is left a much larger problem than simply to find the G.C.D. or the L.C.M. The child is an active thinking individual, if we do not suppress his activity and mechanize his thinking and convert him into a jumping-jack which responds only as the teacher pulls the strings and then apparently in a way that suggests need of lubrication. I have nothing but pity for the child who is allowed to think only through the ruts made by the juggernaut of mechanical teaching. Formal mental discipline, as interpreted by the Gradgrind martinet with its memoriter and rule-stuffing accompaniment, has been the fetish which has blocked the road for the development of childhood in mathematics for a long time.

One hears so much about changing the curriculum; about introducing into our high schools new courses, in some of which the subject matter is embarrassingly vague; about tests and measuremepts and laboratories to help the pupil adjust himself…. I hesitate, unable to choose a word for that to which the pupil must adjust himself and not at all certain just what the pupil has to adjust. One reads about differentiated courses and incidentally also about integrating courses. Is it not possible that each new fashion in education is just another attempt to improve the teaching in the schools of the respective states from which you and I come.

Ever since the explosion of the theory that the faculty of thinking could be developed and strengthened by exercise in thinking regardless of the nature of the subject matter involved, geometry as a universally required subject in the high schools of America has been on the defensive. And, when we consider the large number of failures in the subject, in the light of the educational theory that a child learns only through the encouragement of success, it becomes seriously doubtful whether geometry should be retained as a compulsory subject in the high school.

Mosiulika Mosijagai is the Kaili Ledo language in the city of Palu, Central Sulawesi Province. Mosiulika means "Say / say," Mosijagai means "Beware, be careful." In the assessment of skills, the "Mosiulika Mosijagai" method is still used. There are two things that are assessed, namely typing speed and typing accuracy. Of the 30 students tested, there were 19 (63.33%) students who completed, which reached a speed of ≥ 200 EPM as many as 8 (26.67%). In terms of typing accuracy, of the 30 students who were tested, all of them were complete, and those who reached ≥ 99% accuracy were 5 (16.67%). Classical completeness is 100% and classical absorption is 96.13%. The results of the knowledge assessment with the Plickers application are, of the 23 students who took the test with 14 questions that were displayed, there were 11 values ranging from 0 to 50. Only 2 students were able 50% answered questions, there were even students who did not answer correctly or in other words the acquisition was 0%. Classical completeness and classical absorption for typing speed and the realm of knowledge have not been achieved. This is due to constraints due to the lack of learning time in post-natural disasters, while increasing speed requires sufficient time to increase the number of exercises. As for the incompleteness in the realm of knowledge because students as survivors, who have not fully recovered from trauma, still find it difficult to fully concentrate on the subject matter.

ABSTRACTPhysical Geography needs changes in its didactics so that the students can better understand it. Gall and Spurzheim arrived in Paris during October 1807, while the Napoleonic Wars were still raging and where Napoleon Bonaparte was reshaping every aspect of society. Napoleon despised foreigners and considered Gall’s doctrine absurd. He urged Georges Cuvier, one of his appointed guardians of French science, to reject it. Nonetheless, Gall made inroads, giving public lectures and demonstrations on his organologie that were well received, while seeing patients to support himself. Encouraged by these ventures, he and Spurzheim wrote a Mémoire and submitted it to the Institut National in 1808. Cuvier, who headed the evaluating committee and was being guided by Napoleon, rejected it as unoriginal and unsuitable for the division for Sciences Mathématiques et Physiques, even though the subject matter was basic anatomy and not more controversial organologie. Gall was furious and sent letters expressing his disappointment to Cuvier, but to no avail. Consequently, he published a book covering the submission, the rejection, and his retorts. And rather than leaving France, he opted to continue his lecturing and medical practice in the city with many amenities, and he continued to work on a series of volumes he was already calling his “great work.”
