Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena minat baca siswa dan pengaruh minat baca terhadap pertumbuhan kemampuan belajar siswa pada jenjang-jenjang pendidikan selanjutnya. Kepala sekolah sebagai lokomotif perkembangan mutu pendidikan memiliki peran strategi bagi pengumbuhan dan pengembangan minat baca peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran kepala madrasah sebagai edukator, manajer, dan innovator dalam pengembangan minat baca peserta didik di MIT Nurul Islam Kota Semarang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif lapangan, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi dan triangulasi, serta dianalisis dengan teknik analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Peran kepala madrasah sebagai edukator dalam pengembangan minat baca peserta didik meliputi meliputi tiga pembinaan, yakni pembinaan mental dan moral, serta pembinaan artistik. 2) Peran kepala madrasah sebagai manajer dalam pengembangan minat baca peserta didik di MIT Nurul Islam meliputi penerapan fungsi-fungsi manajemen dengan didasarkan pada pada kerjasama dengan USAID dan UIN Walisongo Semarang. 3) Peran kepala madrasah sebagai innovator dalam pengembangan minat baca peserta didik di MIT Nurul Islam Kota Semarang meliputi inovasi strategi, pola pikir (mindset) dan struktur. Abstract This research is motivated by the phenomenon of reading interest of students and the influence of reading interest on the growth of students' learning ability in the next level of education. The principal as a locomotive of the development of the quality of education has a strategic role for the growth and development of reading interest of learners. This study aims to determine the role of principal as an educator, manager, and innovator in the development of reading interest of learners in MIT Nurul Islam Semarang City. This research is a qualitative field research, data collected through observation, interview, documentation and triangulation, and analyzed by descriptive analysis technique. The results of this study indicate that: 1) The role of principal as an educator in the development of reading interest of learners includes three activities are coaching, namely mental and moral coaching, and artistic coaching. 2) The role of principal as manager in the development of reading interest of learners at MIT Nurul Islam covers the application of management functions based on cooperation with USAID and UIN Walisongo Semarang. 3) The role of principal as innovator in the development of reading interest of learners at MIT Nurul Islam Semarang City includes innovation strategy, mindset, and structure.

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis android untuk memudahkan pemahaman konsep trigonometri. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan pendekatan kualitatif yang didukung data kuantitatif. Model Pengembangan yang digunakan yaitu ADDIE. Karya inovasi ini dibuat dengan macromediaflash 8. Subjek dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 8 siswa pada ujicoba kelompok kecil dan 30 siswa pada ujicoba kelompok besar. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu angket dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data kualitatif dengan menggunakan model Miles Huberman.Hasilpengembangan diperoleh sebuah media pembelajaran yang dapat membantu siswa untuk mempermudah mengingat rumus trigonometri. Kata kunci: Media pembelajaran, android, konsep trigonometri Abstract [The Development of Interactive Android Based Learning Media to Facilitate Understanding of Trigonometric Concepts]. The purpose of this research is to develop interactive android based learning media to facilitate understanding of trigonometric concepts. This research is a development research with qualitative approach supported by quantitative data. Development model used is ADDIE. The innovation work was made with Macromedia Flash 8. The subjects in this study consisted of 8 students on a small group trial and 30 students on a large group trial. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and interviews. Qualitative data analysis technique using Miles Huberman model. The results of the development obtained a learning media that can help students to simplify remembering the trigonometric formula. The study is aimed at investigating whether ICT based graphic organizer gives facilitative effect or not across the students' difference level of writing ability. The study belongs to quasi experimental study by applying counterbalance procedure to collect the data. The participants are the 26 students of English department of Palangka Raya State Islamic Institute of 2017/ 2018 academic year. To test the hypotheses, a one way ANOVA test was applied. The research findings shows that, the data fulfills the normality using Shapiro Wilk test (p= 0.420, 0.046, 0.50, and 0.638> 0.05) and homogeneity of variance using Levene’s test (p= 0.541> 0.05). It is found that the F value is45.050, with the significance (p= 0.050> 0.000). Therefore, F table 4.040<45.050>3.190at the 5% and 1% of significant level (Df= 48). It meant that there is a very statistically significant difference on students’ writing achievement both for the bright and poor students between the students who writean expository essay using ICT Based graphic organizer and those who write an expository essay without using ICT Based graphic organizer

Abstract: The State Islamic Institute Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin (IAIN STS) Jambi has been applying ISO 9001; 2008 since February 2013. One of previous research findings was the resistance regarding the ISO standards and the certification process. This study was to examine the problem through conducting lecturers’ perception towards ISO 9001; 2008 at IAIN STS Jambi in terms of their awareness, benefits and services. Respondents were lecturers of IAIN STS Jambi as many as 122 people from 4 faculties. The research employed a quantitative survey method that uses a likert-scale questionnaire and analysed with descriptive statistic. The findings show that lecturers’ perception on the application of TQM ISO 9001: 2008 in IAIN STS Jambi included in the group of moderate to high. The mean empirical data (x = 47,30) was higher than the average hypothetical (μ = 42). This indicates that the perception of lecturers on the application of ISO in IAIN STS Jambi is high (positive). Empirical standard deviation (s = 9,910) was higher than the hypothetical standard deviation (σ = 9:33). This shows that the perception of lecturers on the application of ISO 9001: 2008 at IAIN STS Jambi has a high variation. Meanwhile, gender variable has a significant relationship between the perception of ISO 9001: 2008 on improving the quality of teaching. Employment status (fulltime civil employer or non-full-time civil employer) have a significant relationship between the perception of ISO 9001; 2008 for quality of services and quality of coordination.

Skripsi ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses implementasi penjaminan mutu dengan program sekolah model serta faktor-faktor dominan yang menyertainya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan desain penelitian studi kasus. Latar penelitian ini adalah Lembaga Penjaminan Mutu Pendidikan (LPMP) Provinsi Jambi. Peneliti menggunakan teknik wawancara mendalam, pengamatan peran serta, dan studi dokumen guna menggali informasi dari informan kunci dan informan lainnya, serta kondisi ril lapangan. Data yang terkumpul selanjutnya dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknis analisis data mengalir. Sementara itu untuk meningkatkan keabsahan data dilakukan trianggulasi sumber dan metode, perpanjangan keikutsertaan, pemeriksaan sejawat, dan member cek. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa proses pelaksanaan pelatihan Program Pengembangan Sekolah Model meliputi tahapan sosialisasi dan koordinasi, pengusulan calon sekolah model dan sekolah imbas, penetapan sekolah model dan sekolah imbas, penyiapan dan seleksi Fasilitator Daerah (FASDA). Sedangkan tahapan pelaksanan meliputi pelatihan, implementasi, pendampingan, pengimbasan, monitoring dan evaluasi, dan diseminasi. Kendala yang dialami pada pelaksanaan program pengembangan sekolah model yaitu faktor penghambat berupa dukungan dari pemeritah daerah berupa anggaran dan kinerja pengawas. Kata Kunci: Sekolah Model, Penjaminan Mutu, Kebijakan Pendidikan Abstract [The Design of Model Schools: a Study of Quality Assurance In Education]. This study aims at describing the process of implementation of quality assurance system with model school program and its dominant factors. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach by meant of case study research design. The social setting of this research is the Quality Assurance Institution (LPMP) of Jambi Province. The informant consists of the Head of the Institution (key informant), the stuff, and the head of the School. To collect data researcher employed in-depth interview, participant observation, and study document techniques. The data collected then analyzed by employing flow model analysis. Meanwhile, to improve the validity of the data, the researcher used triangulation of resources and methods, an extension of participation, peer checks, and member checks. The results of the study found that the process of preparing for development of school model consists of socialization and coordination, nomination, selection of school, and selection of district facilitator. The implementation of the program covered the following steps, they are training, assistance, scanning, monitoring and evaluation, and dissemination. The constraints of the Program include local government support and supervisory performance. Key words: Model school program, quality assurance, educational policy

The aims of this article were to uncover the detailed content of an English textbook entitled “English in Context SMP/MTs Grade VIII” for Junior high school students as well as to investigate the technical quality of the book. The design of the research was a descriptive qualitative through which the English textbook entitled “English in Context SMP/MTs Grade VIII” written by Kasihani K.E. Suyanto and Sri Andreani was assessed. The book was read, identified, classified, and analyzed in terms of its content and technical quality. The findings were: 1) the book was sufficient in terms of the content because total score of the alignment between its content and curriculum was thirty-three (33), 2) in terms of technical quality, this book is sufficient within evidence of a total score which was thirty (30). Based on the data analysis above the writers concluded that an English textbook entitled “English in Context for Grade VIII” is good and appropriate for teaching English to the second grade students of Junior high school.

The objectives of this study were to determine whether or not there was a significant effect of using REDW ( Read, Examine, Decide, Write ) strategy on reading comprehension and to know the significant difference of reading comprehension between students who are taught by using REDW (Read, Examine, Decide, Write) strategy and those who are not . The study was conducted at Islamic Junior High School Tarbiyah Islamiyah Jambi. The population in this study were all eighth graders, each class consisted of less than 30 students. The researcher used REDW strategy in class 8B as the experimental class and class 8A used conventional method as control class. This research used quantitative – experimental approach. The design of study was quasi-experimental design, it was the pretest-posttest non- equivalent group design. The data was collected by a test as research instruments, there were two test: pre-test and posttest. From the results of the test, the independent t-test calculation in posttest score in both groups showed that the significant value was higher than level of significance (0.870 > 0.05). It indicated that there was the significant difference between experimental and control group. Moreover, the paired t-test calculation showed the result of paired sample t-test (5.949 < 0.05) in which there was a significant effect of using REDW strategy on students reading comprehension.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan program pengembangan kompetensi pedagogik guru di SMK Islamiyah Ciputat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif, yaitu untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan mengenai program pengembangan kompetensi pedagogik di SMK Islamiyah Ciputat. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan meliputi wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Pihak yang di wawancara adalah kepala sekolah sebagai subjek penelitian, wakil kepala bidang kurikulum, dan 5 orang guru sebagai sumber data. Observasi yang dilakukan saat aktivitas Kegiatan Belajar Mengajar (KBM) di kelas. Studi dokumentasi dilakukan dengan pengambilan gambar secara langsung dan meminta arsip atau berkas-berkas kepada dewan guru yang di wawancarai terkait dengan kegiatan pengembangan kompetensi pedagogik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program pengembangan kompetensi pedagogik di SMK Islamiyah Ciputat cukup baik. Hal ini terlihat ada beberapa strategi yang dilakukan kepala sekolah dalam mengembangkan kompetensi pedagogik guru diantaranya mengadakan pelatihan, seminar, dan workshop, mengadakan diskusi intern, dan kepala sekolah juga selalu mengikutsertakan guru-guru pada kegiatan pelatihan atau kegiatan pengembangan yang diadakan oleh lembaga lain. Akan tetapi hal ini dilaksanakan hanya sesuai kebutuhan saat itu, dan kegiatan pengembangan kompetensi pedagogik tersebut tidak terjadwalkan secara rutin dan tidak tertulis. Kata kunci: Pengembangan guru, kompetensi pedagogik, sekolah kejuruan Abstract [The Development of Teacher Pedagogical Competence of Islamic Vocational High School]. This study aims to determine and describe the pedagogic teacher competence development program at Vocational High School Islamiyah Ciputat. The research method used is a qualitative approach that is to know and describe pedagogic competence development program at Vocational High School Islamiyah Ciputat. Data collectiontechniques include interviews, observation, and documentation studies. The parties in the interview are principals as research subjects, vice head of curriculum, and 5 teachers as data sources. Observations made during the activities of Teaching and Learning Activities (KBM) in the classroom. Documentation study is done by taking pictures directly and requesting archives or files to the interviewed teacher council related to pedagogic competence development activities. The results showed that pedagogic competence development program at Vocational High School Islamiyah Ciputat was quite good. It is seen that there are several strategies that principals do in developing teacher pedagogic competence such as arranging training, seminars, and workshops, holding internal discussions, and the principal also involves teachers in training activities or development activities organized by other institutions. However, this is done only according to the needs of the time, and the pedagogic competence development activities are not scheduled on a regular or unwritten basis. Abstract Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan perangkat materi pembelajaran untuk pengajaran sosiologi guna memotivasi siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan guna menformulasi produk dan mengukur efektifitasnya melalui validasi dan pengujian ahli di bidangnya. Ada tiga tipe test yang digunakan yaitu, one to one, small group, dan field test yang menunjukkan bahwa desain materi tersebut efektif. Setelah melalui revisi, desain meteri pembelajaran Sosiologi dianggap bermanfaat dan dapat digunakan dalam proses belajar mengajar Kata Kunci: Perangkat pembelajaran, mata pelajaran Sosiologi, siswa Madrasah Aliyah Abstract [Tittle: The Development of Sosiology Instructional Material for The Students fo Islamic Senior High School] . The research aims at developing a set of instructional material for teaching Sociology in order to motivate the students. The researcher employed a research and developing method to formulate a product and to measure its effectiveness through validation and trial-out by the experts of content-material and material-design. There were three types of trial to test the design; one to one, small group, and field test. Based on the test result, it was found that students in average can achieve 84% of overall score which indicate that the designed material is effective. After being revised several times in each stage, the design of instructional material for Sociology subject is considered as beneficial and able to be used in the teaching learning process

Abstract This study attempts to see the effect of Think, Talk, and Write strategy on the students’ narrative writing competence. Considering the importance of the use of teaching media, this study tries to integrate Stick Figure as a teaching media in Think, Talk, and Write Strategy. A quasi experimental study was conducted to see the improvement of the students’ narrative writing competence. It involved 42 students who were selected on the basis of convenience sampling and assigned into two groups; experimental and control groups. The statistical analyses of paired sample t-test in experimental group showed that there was significant improvement on the students’ writing competence before (M=5.77, SD= 2.342) and after (M= 11.79, SD= 2.342), t(21)=12.059, p<0.05.Moreover, the result of independent t-test between experimental and control groups showed a significant difference. It can be seen that the mean differences was 3.79545 and the significance value is lower than 0.05, 0.000<0.05.
