This study is discussed about an analysis of a review text entitled Leonardo Da Vinci written by one of first grade student of a senior high school in Bandung. It consists of three parts: introduction, discussion and conclusion. The introduction describes the lexicogrammatical features of student’s Review text. The discussion provides the analysis of Theme system, Transitivity system, Modality and Grammatical metaphor by using Systemic Functional Grammar. Finally, the conclusion sums up the result of the analysis and briefly explains implication of the topic. He organized the text successfully that achieved the purpose, generic structure and linguistic feature of review text in general.

Indriyani et al, (2013) stated that many students had dificulty in understanding the generic structure of analytical exposition text. Therefore, the present study tried to investigate the correlation between students understanding in writing generic structure of analytical exposition and the quality of students’ writing in second grade of senior hight school. Grounded in explanatory correlational research design by Creswell (2011), this study conducted over two weeks in one of senior high school in Indramayu. Close-ended questionnaire and writing test were instruments to collect the data and it was analyzed  by using SPSS 22. The statistical calculation from students understanding in writing generic stucture of the text and writing test indicated that the value of tcount was 3.23 and the value of ttable was 0.361. It can be concluded that the hypothesis was accepted because tcount 3.23 > ttable 0.361. The finding reveal that there was middle correlation or middle prediction in students understanding of generic structure of analytical exposition and students writing quality with the score 0,52.

The purposes of this research are to describe the implementation of the teacher in teaching speaking descriptive text using facebook for Senior High School Students, and to describe the achievement of the students in speaking using facebook. This study was descriptive qualitative research. The data were taken from the tenth grade students of senior high school in Sidoarjo. The data collecting technique used instruments of observation field note, interview and test. From the observation field note was described that the implementation of teaching learning process given were: First, the way of speaking descriptive text was explained to the students. Second, the examples of generic structure of descrptive text were displayed. Third, the way to describe picture profile from the Facebook was explained to the students. The last, the pleasant atmosphere was created while the students tried to operate Facebook for describing the profile of someone. Further, the results of test had shown that the  students’ scores were good; with the average scores > 75. They show that the technique of Teaching Speaking Descriptive Text Using Facebook For Senior High School students is good for teaching speaking.

This research aims to analyze vocabulary in the English Materials textBook for the first grade of senior high school. This study focuses on the vocabulary presented in the English Materials Book for High School First Grade. This research was conducted to solve the  issues of the importance of vocabulary as a part of learning content and the appropriate vocabulary for learning content including a textbook based on Tomlinson’s theory.  which is also under Tomlinson's theory. The research design is descriptive qualitative analysis with the book as the main source for gathering the data. The book consists of fifteen chapters, and each chapter provides vocabulary content. The information on this exploration is the material of the English Materials textbook. The after effect of this research shows that the English Materials textbook  satisfies 15 measures or 93,7% corresponds with  the Tomlinson's theory. Kajian ini berfokus pada kosakata yang disajikan dalam Buku Materi Bahasa Inggris untuk Kelas Satu Sekolah Menengah Atas. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk memecahkan masalah pentingnya kosakata sebagai bagian dari konten pembelajaran dan kosakata yang sesuai untuk konten pembelajaran termasuk buku teks berdasarkan teori Tomlinson. yang juga di bawah teori Tomlinson. Desain penelitian adalah analisis deskriptif kualitatif dengan buku sebagai sumber utama pengumpulan data. Buku ini terdiri dari lima belas bab, dan setiap bab menyediakan konten kosakata. Informasi tentang eksplorasi ini adalah bahan dari buku teks Materi Bahasa Inggris. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa buku teks Materi Bahasa Inggris memenuhi 15 ukuran atau 93,7% sesuai dengan teori Tomlinson. Dengan cara ini, buku teks materi bahasa Inggris cocok digunakan untuk siswa.

Traditional English grammar classifies the words into eight parts of speech, such has noun, verb , adverb, adjective, conjunction, pronoun, preposition, and interjection (Yule:2004). When someone tries to describe about preposition of place and time, they must give information clearly about anyone their mean to say. in this research, researcher interests to appoint this problem by comparison of student’s ability between graduate of Senior High School (SMU) and Islamic Senior High School (MA) in using preposition into sentence. The method had used in this research was descriptive quantitative. The population in this research are all of students of first grade and second grade of Keluarga Bunda Jambi Midwifery Academy. The sample in this research was 45 students first grade and second grade of Keluarga Bunda Jambi Midwifery Academy consists of 18 students from SMU and 27 students from MA. The result of this research show that score of the students graduate from SMU is 88 highest and 56 lowest, score of the students graduate from MA is 84 highest and 52 lowest. Based on interpretation result with having calculated to table “t” score with df N1+N2-2=43, because there is no df 43, so take df 45. Then this value consult with table of “t” in the significant rating 5% and 1%. The result of analysis data is 0,11 if calculated to the score of critical (t table) so, 2,02>0,11<2,69, it is mean that Ha is refused and Ho is received and it is mean that there is no significant differences between the ability of the students from graduated fo SMUand MA in using preposition into sentences.

It is obvious that the textbooks play a key role in enhancing the quality of teaching and learning. The good quality textbooks must meet the criteria or standard as a textbook. This paper aims to describe the accuracy of materials provided in the Bahasa Indonesia textbook for the first grade of Senior High School curriculum of 2013. This study adopted the content analysis method to analyze the data. The findings deriving from this study reveal that the accuracy of learning material provided in Bahasa Indonesia textbook for the first grade of Senior High School (Sekolah Menengah Atas) curriculum of 2013 published by Erlangga has adequately met the standard requirements of Board of National Education Standards (Badan Standar Nasional Pendidikan, BSNP) for the accuracy of learning material of a textbook. However, this study found some weaknesses in the textbook as follows: (1) The textbook has not provided a ‘Competency Map’ containing principles used by students to achieve their learning goals and understand the learning materials provided in each chapter in order that the materials delivered can be well-structured. (2) The examples provided in the textbook are less relevant to the characteristics of diverse backgrounds and social statuses; contain the issues of ethnicity, religion, race, intergroup relations; and do not suit the needs.   Keywords: Curriculum of 2013, The accuracy of learning materials, Textbooks.

<p>Dagadu Djokja is one of the icons Yogyakarta which provides various souvenirs typical of Yogyakarta such as t-shirts, batik, handicrafts and others. One product that is in demand by tourists is the shirt, because the shirt Dagadu has unique characteristics that are of cultural value delivered. In this study will analyze Dagadu products in terms of verbal and visual elements as well as explore the culture found on the shirt Dagadu.The approach of this study is descriptive qualitative. The type of this study is document research. The data of this research takes from <a href="http://www.Dagadu.co.id">www.Dagadu.co.id</a>. In this study, the researcher uses the Systemic Functional Grammar to analyse the verbal elements, the Generic Structure Potential to analyse the visual elements and the Iceberg Model to analyse the culture reflected in dagadu product.</p>

The aim of this study to development of materials teaching writing text drama based on problems that happened in 9th of grade Students of Methodist Medan.  The reason for choosing this school student at Methodist Senior High School 12 Medan was because it had all the supporting aspects so that the research could run well. This study was conducted on July2019. The result is students who scored 65-74 were 2 with a percentage of 7%, at 55-64 there were 1 2 people with a percentage of 40 % and at 0-54 as many as 16 people with a percentage of 53%. In the posttest score increased better learning outcomes around 85-100 scores by 2 with a percentage of 7 %, 75-84 scores by 2 2 with a percentage of 73 %, a value of 65-74 by 6 with a percentage of 20 % . So, the final results of the needs analysis showed that 100% of teachers and students of Medan Methodist 12 High School needed a companion module in learning Indonesian.

Based on 2013 Curriculum, Personal Letter can be considered as one of the challenging text types that should be mastered by the students. This might be the reason why the text is taught in Senior High School Level. Therefore, it is crucial for the teachers to expand their knowledge regarding this type of genre to overcome students� problems faced during writing personal letter. This study is aimed to analyse student�s Personal Letter text based on three metafunctions in SFL perspective. It is expected that by identifying students� problems, teachers can decide and design appropriate pedagogical plan. The data of this descriptive qualitative study were analysed by using three metafunctions in Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL). The result of the study reveals that the student�s major problems in producing Personal Letter text are the use of subject and verb tense (interpersonal metafunctions), the generic structure of the text, the use of conjunctions, the grammatical errors, and L1 interference.Keywords: personal letter; systemic functional linguistics; metafunction; discovery learning strategy.

This study aims to reveal: (1) the characteristics of diagnostic test items used in mathematics subject of the first grade of senior high school (SHS); (2) the degree of errors from several types of students’ errors in answering mathematics test; and (3) the dominant factor causing the students to make mistakes in answering mathematics test. This study used a quantitative approach involving the first graders of eight SHSs in Mataram as the population. The sample was collected by a proportionate random sampling technique, consisting of 350 students for preliminary field testing and 450 students for main field testing. The research instrument was a mathematics diagnostic test, questionnaire, and interview guidelines. The results show that: (1) the diagnostic test instrument meets the qualitative and quantitative content validity, proves empirically fit with Partial Credit Model (PCM), has reliability index of 0.92 (high category), and all items in the diagnostic test instrument are categorized in moderate difficulty; (2) misrepresentation becomes dominant errors if compared with misconceptions, the counting errors, and procedural errors. The errors dominant in the topic domain are Inequalities Linear System Two Variables if compared with Rational and Irrational Inequality One Variable, Equations and Inequalities of Absolute Value, and Linear Equations System Three Variables; and (3) most of the students do not understand how to solve the problem of inequality, determining factor quadratic equations, determining the members of the set completion, problems concerning graphs, and problems that require the capability of language interpretation into the mathematics model.
