The use of appropriate learning resources has the potential to improve students' ability in solving mathematical problems. This study aims to determine the local culture that is oriented towards Tri Hita Karana which can be used as a learning resource for fractions in an effort to improve students' problem solving abilities. This type of research is exploratory with the research subject of the teacher who teaches the fifth grade students of Elementary School Number 1 Bhaktiseraga Singaraja. Data on aspects of local culture that are oriented towards Tri Hita Karana which can be used as a learning resource for fractions were collected by means of questionnaires and interviews. The results showed that the aspects of local culture oriented to Tri Hita Karana that could be used for learning fractions were the mecaru ceremony, tumpek wariga, odalan, ngayah. These learning resources can be used for material integration or math problems.

In mathematics, students' ability to solve problems is very much needed. Every student has different abilities. For this reason, it is necessary to conduct a research in order to find out the students' abilities in solving problems in mathematics, especially in fractional material. In researching, quantitative description is the method chosen by the researcher. In this study using a research instrument in the form of a test to measure students' ability to solve mathematical problems and conducted interviews. Data analysis of the results of mathematical tests about solving fractions of fifth grade students at SD Negeri 2 Kalirejo is in the high category. This is evident from the results of tests at SD Negeri 2 Kalirejo that included in the high category were 61.29%, moderate were 23.80% and the low and very low categories were 12.89%.

This research is a case study. The purpose of this study is to find out how creative thinking abilities of fifth grade students in solving math-type open-ended in Elementary School 016 Mekar Jaya kecamatan Kampar Kiri Tengah Kabupaten Kampar. Data collection techniques is a test. The subject of this study 19 the students of class VA. Creative thinking abilities of fifth grade students in solving math-type open-ended views of the three indicators that have been set think smooth, think flexible and think original. The results show that the average ability of creative thinking of students on a creative level is of 5.26, while at the level of quite a creative is 31, 57 and at a rate of less creative is 63,15. From these results the overall average is 23,68. This suggests that the ability of creative thinking of students of class V in solving math-type open-ended in Elementary School 016 Mekar Jaya Kecamatan Kampar Kiri Tengah Kabupaten Kampar is less creative.

This study aims to improve learning outcomes of Fifth Grade students of Elementary School in the learning Fourth Theme through the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. This was a classroom action research. The study involves Fifth Grade students of the elementary school as the research subject. The data were collected through observation with test and nontest. This research is using two cycles. The results of the study show that: (a) the application of the PBL model is capable of improving the student’s outcome (b) In the first cycle, there was five students who passed the grade, that the average value is 62,5 %. (c) In the second cycle, there was an improvement for the learning outcomes, that the average value is 75%, which six students passed the grade. (d) the students’ learning outcomes after the application of the PBL model namely the number of students who reach the KKM as much as 6 students (75%) from totally 8 students.

This research aimed to reveal the influence of problem solving method and motivation to mathematics learning outcomes in the fifth grade of elementary school on the subjects of multiplication and division of fractions. The type of this study was experimental research using quantitative method of quasi experiment. The design of the research was explained in the form of 2x2 factorial. The populations of the research were all fifth grade students of elementary school in Sub-district of Mapat Tunggul Selatan belonging to a group of high school consisted of 7 schools. The technique of sample collecting used was purposive sampling. The data of the research were obtained from questionnaire of motivation and mathematics learning outcomes. The technique of data analysis was done using two-ways ANOVA technique. The result of the analysis showed that: (1) there were differences of the learning outcomes of multiplication and division of fractions between students who were taught problem solving methods and students who were taught in a conventional way, with significance value of 0,000. (2) There were differences of the learning outcomes of multiplication and division of fractions between students who had high motivation and the learning outcomes of students who had low motivation, with significance value of 0,001. (3) There wasn’t an interaction between learning methods and students’ motivation to the students’ learning outcomes of multiplication and division of fractions, with significance value of 0,438.

The research is aimed to identify and describe the ability of fifth grade students in solving problems of disaster mitigation. This study was implemented in a public elementary school in Kampar, Riau, Indonesia in 2019. The type of research was qualitative research. The subject of this study was 42 fifth grade students. Instruments were arranged to refer to problem-solving indicators. After the instruments were validated by experts and tested by students, it was then used to retrieve data. The data is categorized and grouped according to the device already created. Based on the results of the study it showed that the students ' ability has been in an excellent category in carrying out problems and examining problems, while their ability was a poor category in planning, implementing, and evaluating the solutions that have been made.

Implementation of Problem Based Learning Models on Mathematical Problem Solving Capabilities of Elementary School Class V Fractions. The objectives to be achieved in this study are to determine the implementation of Problem Based Learning models in the mathematical problem solving ability of fraction material for fifth grade students of elementary schools and To identify whether there is an increase or not the ability to solve mathematical problems of students towards the implementation of Problem Based Learning models of fractions for students class V SDN Tlogorejo Pati. This type of research is a mixed methods research method in the form of concurrent embedded. The study population was all fifth grade students of SD Tlogorejo Pati 2019/2020 Academic Year. Samples takeere 30 fifth grade students using Nonprobability Sampling in the form of Saturated Sampling. Data collection techniques used for research instruments are tests, interviews, observations and documentation. The instruments used were validated tests by experts, interview guidelines and observation guidelines. Data in this study were obtained through interviews, tests, observations, and documentation. Based on the results of calculations using the t test obtained tcount = 30.29 with ttable = 2.001. Because tcount = 30.29> ttable = 2.001, H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. This means that the ability to solve problems before and after treatment is not the same in grade V elementary school students. Then the results of calculations using N-Gain obtained calculation results of 0.640. These results fall into the moderate classification. So it can be concluded an increase in the ability to solve problems in fractional material gets an average increase of 0.640. This means that there is an increase in the ability to understand the problem in the Problem Based Learning model.

This research is motivated by the low ability to solve mathematical problems in fifth grade students of SDN Kaliabang Tengah 1 Bekasi Utara. Seen when researchers provide exercises in the description of mathematical problems in the form of stories on fraction material. There is still a lack of student knowledge regarding fractional material. When working on the story problem students simply add up or subtract the denominator by the denominator and the numerator by the numerator, without first equating the denominator. Students have not been able to solve problems correctly and many are still wrong. The lack of students' ability to infer results obtained from mathematical story problems. Enthusiastic students are lacking in solving mathematical story problems that are considered difficult. This study aims to improve the ability to solve mathematical problems using problem solving models in fifth grade students at SDN Kaliabang Tengah 1, North Bekasi. The research method uses Classroom Action Research (CAR) which consists of 3 cycles.. The conclusion of this study is the problem solving model can improve the ability to solve mathematical problems in fifth grade students at SDN Kaliabang Tengah 1 Bekasi Utara.
