In Indonesia during the rainy season floods often occur in urban areas, especially in a very densely populated areas. Central or local government has always suffered huge losses due to widespread flooding and paralyze all activities of the city. So many environmental issues that can cause flooding and the problem has become very complex. By doing assessment study deeply it can be seen that there are 7 (seven) causes flooding, namely: there is not environmentally sustainable development; The lack of a clean lifestyle in the general public; The lack of planning and maintenance of good drainage; The lack of consistency from the authorities in Spatial Planning and Regional; The absence of good conservation programs in balancing environmental of water; Iand subsidence; and very high rainfall intensity. Therefore it is necessary for serious efforts to address the flooding problem through: The consistency in environmentally sustainable development; Clean lifestyle in the community; The application of the concept " Water front City "; The application of the concept " One River One Management "; Making Infiltration; Prevention of Land Subsidence by Groundwater Injection manner; and Improved coordination of all stakeholders. Keywords: Causes flooding, options in handling flood problem.

This scientific research was conducted to find out the description of the implementation of the Regional Regulation on Regional Spatial Planning in realizing environmentally sustainable development in Bengkulu Tengah Regency. The focus of this research is on the implementation of the policy of providing Green Open Space in the development of urban areas, namely the City Parks that have been built. The method used in this study uses descriptive qualitative methods with a case study approach. Data analysis is based on techniques commonly used in communication messages, namely data collection, data classification, data interpretation and meaning of research results. The results of the study were viewed from four aspects, namely the determination of zoning, licensing issues, choice of incentives and disincentives, and community participation. From this aspect, it is known that in the construction of City Parks as a form of implementation of the policy of providing Green Open Space in the development of urban areas in Bengkulu Regency, the principle of environmentally sustainable development has not been maximally realized. First, the determination of City Park zoning is carried out unilaterally by the government without coordinating with the community. Secondly, the issue of licensing where the construction of the City Park permit location is unknown to the public. Third, the choice of incentives and disincentives provided by the government is still too small and does not prioritize the interests of the community. Finally, the participation of the community in the construction of the City Park is still very lacking because the government is not transparent regarding the development planning that will be carried out.

Most of the large urban areas, especially those with a strong industrial vocation, present important contamination of organohlaogenated compunds. Even in the City of Rome, although it has a very limited industrial development, some sites interested by this kind of contamination have been notified in recent years. The distribution of these sites is prevalent in the eastern sector of the city where the few industrial activities present are also located. Concentrations are varied and show both cases of clear point source contamination, where values are very high, and cases where a possible contamination from multiple point sources can be hypothesized. The sites reported fall into a crucial area for the hydrogeology of Rome, that is the "Paleotiber Graben" aquifer, exploited for various uses. To date, there is no proven diffuse contamination of organohalogenated compounds in Rome, nevertheless the purpose of this work is to frame this emerging issue on the basis of the available data.

Agribusiness may potentially develop on Palu Riversides. This research aims to formulate a sustainable agricultural spatial innovation for the Development of Agribusiness Places on Palu Riversides. The methods used for this study were field observation, satellite image map observation, and literature review. The results showed that the implementation of sustainable agriculture through the development of agribusiness places in urban areas could take advantage of the open spaces designated as green open space zone on the Palu Riversides, namely the River Green Area which is outside the riparian zone, the river overflow runoff area. To achieve this objective, it requires ability to innovate in spatial planning so that an urban agricultural area that is neatly arranged into an agribusiness places can also be developed into one of the city landmark.

Planejamento. Problemas.   Flood spots in municipality of Itajubá-mg Abstract Problems and disasters generated by nature actions are cyclical in the history of our planet. One of these problems , maybe the major and most frequent, are the flooding which has been causing many losses for both the population and the municipalities in general. In the city of Itajubá -MG it is not different. Mainly because the city is located in the banks of the Sapucai river, it has experienced problems with flooding since its foundation in 1819. In 2000, the city faced one of its biggest floods, which affected 80% of its urban population. Currently, due to advances in technology, problems related to flooding can be diagnosed and prevented by using computer programs such as Autocad and Global Mapper, which ones, in this work, allow us to have a good idea about areas in the studied city, that could be potentially affected by floods. As the best result,  one flood spot occupying 65% of the urban area of the city was observed. The information can be used for preventing actions and as a base for a mediated growing. From this results, it is possible to measure how fragile is the city regarding to environmental problems related to storms, which requires that regulatory organizations make a bigger and better growing planning for the urban areas, applying strategies for the efficient and sustainable development in the region. Pluvial flooding in Badalona (Spain) occurs during high rainfall intensity events, which in the future could be more frequent according to the latest report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). In this context, the present study aims at quantifying the potential impacts of climate change for the city of Badalona. A comprehensive pluvial flood multi risk assessment has been carried out for the entire municipality. The assessment has a twofold target: People safety, based on both pedestrians’ and vehicles’ stability, and impacts on the economic sector in terms of direct damages on properties and vehicles, and indirect damages due to businesses interruption. Risks and damages have also been assessed for the projected future rainfall conditions which enabled the comparison with the current ones, thereby estimating their potential increment. Moreover, the obtained results should be the first step to assess the efficiency of adaptation measures. The novelty of this paper is the integration of a detailed 1D/2D urban drainage model with multiple risk criteria. Although, the proposed methodology was tested for the case study of Badalona (Spain), it can be considered generally applicable to other urban areas affected by pluvial flooding.

In the face of new global challenges, the economic and social significance of territorial problems in the Russian Federation has received a different, extremely acute meaning. The crisis and shortage of the budgets of most of the municipal formations in the country predetermine the shift of problems of ensuring sustainable development of urban areas from theory to practice. The purpose of this study is to develop a methodology for determination of the priority directions for the city's industrial development. The paper analyzes the principles of sustainable development in the field of urban planning and spatial planning, outlines the mechanisms for stimulating economic growth in cities and the ways to determine the priority directions of the city's industrial development. The authors carried out a practical testing of the proposed methodology on the example of the city of Penza. Recommendations for a more complete use of the potential of the machine-building industry are developed.

Government inner city policy has failed to solve problems of unemployment, dereliction, homelessness and social stress. The problems and their possible solutions are linked to environmental problems and the need for environmentally sustainable development in urban areas. Government policy on these issues is incoherent, and existing policies under ‘Action for Cities’ will not reverse current trends of environmental degradation.

According to the UN, in the next 20 years, most of the world’s population will live in urban areas. Cities consume a high amount of resources, between this water, for their sustenance, hence the greatest necessity of sustainable development plans. What viable options or strategies can we consider in Latin America such that it can resist the economic, political, and social changes that it is facing? Through prospective studies, in case of Guadalajara, it is possible to determinate how water can generate clean energy, and which are the other strategic areas to empower the city through decarbonization with an interoperative and smart loop system of co-benefits. This study can help in public policy decisions of medium-sized cities in Latin America.
