The aim of this research was to investigate the ability of the third semester students of D3 study program of universitas Bengkulu in using appropriate grammar by implementing the teaching and learning cycle technique. This is a classroom action research. It was done in genre writing class. There were  23 students. Three instruments were applied in this research such as observation, fieldnote and test. From the observation result, it could be seen that there was the students’ activeness and the increasing ability of the students in using grammar for certain text type. The fieldnote results also showed that the amount of the students asking in the class increased, the ability to make appropriate title for certain text type, the  use of appropriate vocabulary and grammar increased too. From the last intrument, test, also found that there was significant increase of students’ average score from the first to the third cycle. The score was 64,71 and 82. At last, it can be concluded that the technique of teaching and learning is successful to increase students’ ability in using appropriate grammar for a certain text type.

This research aims at improving students’ ability to write exposition text through learning cycle model to the third-semester students of Indonesian Language Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Educational Sciences, Pakuan University. The method used for this research is action research with qualitative and quantitative approach. Qualitative data are taken from data analysis and analysis of learning process from three cycles. Meanwhile, quantitative data are taken from the comparison of students' score from the first to the third cycle. The implementation of learning cycle that consists of engagement, exploration, explanation elaboration and evaluation in writing exposition activity done in  every cycle successfully improves students’ ability to write exposition text. It is shown on the average score which increases from 52.38 to 80.13. This improvement comes along the improvement of students’ activity in expressing their ideas throughout learning cycle. As a result, learning cycle can improve students’ ability to write exposition text.

<p>Abstract. This study aims to determine the improvement of children's poetry reading skills with the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach in Class V Students of SDN 2 Nanggulan, District of Cawas, Klaten Regency, Semester I, Academic Year 2018/2019. This Classroom Action Research was conducted in the fifth grade of Nanggulan Elementary School 2 in Cawas District, Klaten Regency with a total of 17 students, consisting of 3 male students and 14 female students. This classroom action research is carried out three cycles in a continuous manner. Each cycle is carried out by planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting to determine the effectiveness of the action. Based on the analysis, it can be<br />concluded as follows: First, based on observations of teacher performance the results of the average score of teacher performance have increased from learning Cycle I for 1.3 Cycle II learning to 2.3, and at Cycle III 2.7. With the criteria of a sufficient limit score is a score of 2 and a score of 3 is good; Second, based on student activity data for three cycles, the average score about student activity experienced an increase from Cycle I learning at 1.2 learning Cycle II to 2.0 and in Cycle III learning to 2.8; Third, based on the results of the assessment of<br />reading children's poetry with the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach, the average score of the test results and assignments has increased from Cycle I learning to 70.89 Cycle II learning to 75.59 and Cycle III learning to 79.71 . Increasing the percentage of classical learning completeness by learning cycle I was 41.18%, learning Cycle II became 58.82%, and learning in Cycle III reached 82.35%. Thus through the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach the ability to read children's poetry in Class V students of SD Negeri 2 Nanggulan, District of Cawas, Klaten Regency, in the first semester of school year 2018/2019 can increase.</p>

Nowadays, every teaching and learning process is supposed to apply a student-centered concept in which the pupils are the center of the process, and they are encouraged to participate actively in the process. Therefore, all education levels have implemented this concept, including the university level. Unfortunately, many pupils are still passive during the teaching process. This phenomenon also appears in the English Language Teaching Department of Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Purwokerto. The low participation of the students happens in all classes, including grammar class. Based on the pre-observation process in a grammar class, the average score of student participation was only 58.82%. From seven categories of student participation, two indicators were still 0% called asking a question and giving constructive or positive comments to the teacher or other students. There was also one category that only achieved 41.18%. Besides, the atmosphere was not conducive since some students talked to their classmates and looked quite bored. Based on this condition, the researchers decided to do action research. After doing a literature study, we agreed to use literary works to overcome the problem. The research was done in one cycle that consisted of three meetings. The instruments used for collecting the data were an observation sheet of student participation and a teacher observation sheet. The data gathered were analyzed using simple statistics like percentage and average score, then the analysis presented through diagram and words. The literary works used in this study were a short story, a film script, and a novel. This action research is successful if the percentage of student involvement can achieve 65%.  The result reveals that student participation was getting better after the implementation of literary works in the teaching and learning process. In the first action, the average percentage was 69.29 %, then it became 75.89% in the second meeting. In the third act, the student involvement achieved 78.15%. The most impressive finding appeared in the third meeting. Three students asked questions. Asking questions as one of the indicators of participation did not appear in the first and the second meeting. The atmosphere was getting conducive since the implementation of the literary works in the grammar class. In short, this action research is successful in boosting student involvement in grammar class.

The study aimed at improving the speaking achievement of the second semester students of Tridinanti Palembang by using Think-Pair-Share strategy (TPR). This study was an action research study. The steps in conducting the study were planning, actions and observation of action and reflections. The population of the study was all of the second semester students of Tridinanti University in the academic year 2016/2017. The sample used one class (10students). The data collections used by the researcher were tests and observation. The learning improvement indicators included in two things; (1) learning achievement, (2) teaching and learning process. In the study, the implementation was conducted into two cycles. The results showed that the average score of students’ speaking achievement was 66 in cycle I and the observation result was 62.82. The result had not been reached the target yet that was >70. At least more than 85% students could achieve the score above 70. Thus, cycle II was necessary to be implemented. In cycle II, the average score of speaking test was 81and the observation result was 81.06. The students had reached the target and the cycle was stopped. In conclusion, the implementation of TPR had brought significant improvement to the students’ speaking achievement.

Writing is troublesome to be  learned  and  taught for some students. One technique that can be used in teaching writing is TPS. The research was conducted in SMP Plus Nurulhidayah Pasundan. The researchers identify some problems, such as: 1) Does teaching writing using TPS improve the students’ writing creativity?, 2) How is the teaching and learning situation when TPS implemented in the writing class?. Classroom Action Research was used in this research. From the result of pre-test, we found that the result of students’ writing was under average and still far from what was expected. The finding was supported by the result of students’ writing scores. The average score of pre test was 47.1. After the implementation of TPS activities in every cycle, the students’ writing score were getting better. It can be seen from the result of students’ average score Cycle 1 was 51.8 and Cycle 2 was 71.09 It can be concluded that TPS can improve students’ writing creativity and TPS can improve writing classroom into a better situation. Keywords:  Think Pair Share, Writing Skill, CAR

<div><table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" align="right"><tbody><tr><td align="left" valign="top"><p>This study aims to improve the independence of students in learning Linear Program by using e-module learning media linear program based on Kvisoft Flipbook Maker. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR). This research was conducted in the mathematics education study program FKIP UAD. The results of this study indicate an increase in student learning independence, this is evidenced by the results of interviews with students who showed positive responses. In addition from the observations also obtained a positive response that is the first cycle the average score of learning independence of 52.52% in the second cycle increased by 62.21% and in the third cycle of 72.21%. As well as an increase in completeness of learning outcomes in the first cycle by 50%, then the second cycle increased by 61.53% and in the third cycle of 76.9%.</p></td></tr></tbody></table></div>

<em>This study intended to describe how the process of teaching and learning using WebQuest can develop the ninth graders’ writing ability of report text. The subjects included the 15 ninth graders. The students were taught to be able to write report texts by using WebQuest after they visit the web addresses given in the two cycles of classroom action research. Their writing ability achievement and the information on students’ interaction during the teaching and learning process were attained by overseeing writing products at the end of each cycle and by using observation checklists and field notes. The result indicated that WebQuest was successful in developing the students’ writing ability of report texts. The comparison of the students’ scores in the preliminary study and in Cycle 2 was significantly developed. In preliminary study, the students’ average score was 50.8. While in the cycle two, the students’ score was 76.8.</em>

  The purpose of the study was to find out how the ability to write job application letters for class XII students of SMK Negeri 2 Depok City in 2019-2020 and to find out whether cooperative learning with the Think-Pair-Share model could improve the ability to write cover letters for class XII students of SMK Negeri 2 Depok City. This study uses classroom action research (action research) in two rounds (cycles). Each round consists of four stages, namely: planning, activities and observations, reflection, and revision. The target of this research is Class XII Computer Network Engineering (TKJ) SMK Negeri 2 Depok City in 2019-2020. The data obtained in the form of subjective test results and observation sheets of teaching and learning activities. The results show, class XII students of TKJ SMK Negeri 2 Depok City in 2019-2020 are able to write job applications. This can be seen from the average score of students' ability to write job application letters and student learning completeness in cycle I and cycle II has increased. The average score of students' ability to write job application letters in the first cycle was 72.77 and learning completeness reached 64.70%. The average score of students' ability to write job application letters in cycle II was 78.38 and learning completeness reached 85.29%. The application of the Think-Pair-Share model of cooperative learning has a positive influence on Teaching and Learning Activities (KBM). Think-Pair-Share model of cooperative learning can improve student learning outcomes. This is indicated by the average student answers stating that students are interested and interested in the Think-Pair-Share cooperative learning method so that they become motivated to learn. This article aimed to improve the understanding of the concept of purchase and sale in class III Elementary School of Mekarjaya III through the application of information multiliterasi learning models. This research was  classroom action research. This research was conducted in three cycles. The results showed that the percentage of classical completeness in the first cycle has average 63.2 with the percentage of classical completeness which was 48.5%. In the second cycle the average score of students were 70 with the percentage of classical completeness  63.6%. In the third cycle the average value of students were  81.2 with the percentage of classical completeness 87.9%. Then it can be concluded that the application of the multiliteration learning model of information on social studies subjects has success to increase the understanding of the concept purchase and sale in class III Elementary School of Mekarjaya III District Majalengka. The obejectives of this research are to know the improvement  of the students’ achievement in poetry mastery and their perception regarding to the semiotic method in teaching and learning poetry in  English Education Department, Languages and Art Faculty of State University of Medan. The research method used is the Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subjects of the research are the fifth semester of 37 students of 2013/2014 academic year. The data are collected by test in order to know the students’ achievment in poetry mastery. The students’ perception toward the implementation of the semiotic method for teaching and learning poetry is collected by questionaire. The data are analyzed by descriptive analysis. The result of research shows that (1) the average score of the students’ achievement of poetry mastery is (71.75) or it increases (11,59) point from pre-test (60.16) and (2) in general, the students’ perception toward the semiotic method for teaching and learning poetry are good and positive.
