This study aims to improve critical thinking skills through the application of science-based learning tools REMAP TMPS model ( Reading Concept Map Timed Pair Share ). The type of research was quasi experiment with One Group Pretest-Postest design . The population in this study were all students of class VII at SMPN 4 Pujut and SMPN 6 Pujut with sampling using purpusive sampling technique so that the samples taken are class VII-A at SMPN 4 Pujut and VII-B in SMPN 6 Pujut. instruments used to measure critical thinking skills in the form of answer-question as much as 10. The results showed the average N-gain class VII-A higher than class VII-B. This suggests that REMAP TMPS-based science learning tools has effective toword student critical thinking skills.

This study aims to produce science learning tools that are valid, practical, and effective which consists of syllabus, lesson plan, teaching material, student activity sheets, and test sheets to improve the critical thinking skills of elementary students. This research was carried out using the 4-D model of adaptation Ibrahim, M., which is define, design, developing, disseminate and tested in class V of Jiken Elementary School, Kedondong I Elementary School, Sudimoro Elementary School, school year 2019/2020 with One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Data analysis techniques used are quantitative and qualitative descriptive. The results shows: 1) valid, according to the validity of the three validators with valid categories, 2) practical, in accordance with the level of observers seen from the activity of students increasing at each meeting and implementation of RPP, 3) effective, seen from appearing significantly different from the pretest and posttest test students' critical thinking and positive student responses. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that the development of science learning tools oriented in guided inquiry is valid, practical, and effective for improving critical thinking skills of elementary students.

This study aims to improve the ability of the inquiry learning tool integrated with local wisdom in improving students' critical thinking skills. There were four classes of experiments to determine entitlements in research results, which were also designed as pretest-posttest groups. The sample in this study were 100 students, who were divided into four groups using saturated sampling technique. The critical thinking skills test consisted of 6 items which were declared valid. The results showed that the thinking skills of students before and after learning the software were significantly different (p <0.05). These results indicate that the learning tools developed effectively improve students' critical thinking skills, although the average increase in each indicator is in the medium category. This condition indicates that for further research it is necessary to develop an inquiry model that is integrated with local wisdom.

Critical Thinking Skills (CTS) are the crucial skills required by nowadays generation in dealing with the 21st Century challenges. Yet, the researches focused on higher order thinking skills are still limited. This study aimed to analyze the effect of Alas Kandung-based science learning tools on students’ CTS. The research design was pretest and post-test with non-equivalent control group. The treatment given in experimental class was the implementation of Alas Kandung-based science learning tools, while the control class was taught using common method used by the teachers.  The results of this study indicated that the students’ CTS in experimental class was significantly higher than the control class [F(1,47) = 11.672, p = 0.001]. In conclusion, the Alas Kandung-based science learning tools is effective in improving students’ CTS.

Mathematical Critical thinking is one of  mathematical abilities that must be obtained by students. Critical thinking is one of the high order thinking processes that can make concepts in student knowledge.  Students with critical thinking in mathematics learning mostly do rational activities such as interpreting information based on a particular theoretical framework, linking theory with practice, making claims and justifying it, utilizing data in support of argumentation, making relations or relationships between various ideas, asking questions, evaluating knowledge, predict, describe something, analyze, synthesize, and categorize. This study aims to analyze the effect of the Concept-Based Learning Model on the critical thingking mathematical abilities. The purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of Concept-Based Learning Model toward mathematics critical thinking ability. The method used in this research is quasi experiment by Randomize Control Group Post Test Only Design with cluster random sampling technique. Indicators of mathematics critical thinking skills measured in this study include providing simple explanations, building basic skills, concluding, making more explanations, and deciding an action. The results showed that the mathematics critical thinking ability of students in the experimental class for the five indicators that being analyze was higher than the ability of students in the control class. A fairly high difference in the indicator showed in give a simple explanation and concluding. and it means that the application of Concept-Based Learning Model significantly influences the  abilities  of students' mathematics critical thinking.

Discovery learning is a learning situation on wich the principle content of what is tobe learned is not give but must be independly discovered by student. The effectiveness of guided discovery learning model to improve students’ critical thinking skills uses 6 indicators, are: formulating problems, formulating hypotheses, analyzing date, providing alternatives, summing up, communicating and applying principle. The guided discovery learning model was included in the effective category in terms of: (a) Improvement (N-gain) of students’ critical thinking skills by 0.65 with moderate criteria and (b) Students respond positively to learning using guided discovery learning model and its learning tools on implementation.

Arguing ability was a part of critical thinking skills which important to be mastered by the students. In fact, students’ ability to argue was still relatively low. This referred to the TIMSS report (The Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study) in 2011, and showed that Indonesian children’s level in science was positioned in 42 from 45 countries. One kind of efforts to improve the quality of the ability to argue was applying the model of guided inquiry. This study was aimed to develop inquiry-based learning tools (PPBIT) and analyzed its effectiveness in developing the ability to argue of students at SMAN 2 Taliwang-West Sumbawa. PPBIT was carried out by applying 4D procedure. Then, pretest posttest control group design also completely concerned in determining the effectiveness of PPBIT. There were 66 students as the sample which was scattered from two classes and was selected by using purposive sampling technique. The results showed that PPBIT was appropriately to be used for students argumentation  skills’ activities by an average of feasibility syllabus 78.71%, RPP 83.5, LKITS 75%, and Instruments KB 80.25%, and effective in improving the ability to argue the class X SMAN 2 Taliwang, particularly on the subject of environmental pollution and recycling of waste by the average score of the students' ability from 48.22 up to 85.08Keyword: PPBIT, Argument

Conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills are necessary for all students to help them in their learning process. This research aims to determine the effect of Moodle-assisted e-learning on (1) conceptual understanding, (2) critical thinking skills, and (3) conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills combined. This research employed a quasi-experimental design with random cluster sampling was used as the sampling technique. An algebra written test was used to collect research data. Furthermore, the researchers performed the normality test, homogeneity test, and MANOVA analysis to analyze the data. The researchers discovered that Moodle-assisted e-learning influenced students' conceptual understanding, critical thinking skills, and conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills.

This research was motivated by the still limited learning of mathematics as a means of supporting learning in the 2013 Curriculum. The purpose of this study was to produce some products in the form of learning devices (syllabus, RPP and LKPD) on the material for the flat side building of VIII Middle School with discovery learning models that meet valid, practical, and effective criteria for improving students mathematical critical thinking skills. Learning tools are developed using the 4-D model, which are define, design, develop and assess. The research instrument used was an instrument of validity in the form of a validation sheet to assess the feasibility of the syllabus, RPP and LKPD as well as a practical instrument in the form of a teacher observation sheet activity in applying the discovery learning model and student questionnaire responses to assess the practicality of LKPD. The results of the validation of the experts stated that the product developed reached a valid category with an average rating of 76.67% for syllabus, 76.67% for RPP and 88.04% for LKPD. Learning devices are considered very practical in small group trials with an average response of 96.44% students and large group trials from the observation sheet of teacher activity 93.71% and the average response of students 87.77%. The learning tools have been proved to improve students mathematical critical thinking skills in terms of an average N-gain of 0.53 in the medium category.
