Hipertensi adalah peningkatan tekanan darah sistole ≥140 mmHg dan diastole ≥90 mmHg, diukur dua kali, selang waktu lima menit dalam keadaan tenang. Prevalensi hipertensi di Indonesia tahun 2013 tercatat 25,8% dan menjadi 34,1% pada 2018. Pengobatan hipertensi selain menggunakan obat, dapat diberi terapi non-farmakologis, salah satunya adalah terapi musik. Tujuan penelitian ini menganalisis efek musik sebagai terapi tambahan terhadap pengendalian tekanan darah pada penderita hipertensi. Penelitian ini merupakan Scoping Review, dengan mencari artikel dari database Science Direct, Neliti, dan DOAJ diperoleh 2.784 artikel. Hasil skrining yang sesuai kriteria inklusi sebanyak 474 artikel. Hasil uji kelayakan berdasar atas PICOS dan setelah dilakukan telaah kritis terdapat enam artikel yang memenuhi syarat. Penelitian dilakukan pada periode September–Desember 2020. Hasil telaah dan analisis dari enam artikel menyatakan pemberian musik selama 15–25 menit memengaruhi tekanan darah dan terdapat perbedaan tekanan darah sebelum dengan setelah diberikan musik pada penderita hipertensi. Selain itu, lima artikel menyatakan terdapat perbedaan tekanan darah pada penderita hipertensi yang tidak diberikan terapi musik. Tiga artikel menyatakan terdapat perbedaan efek penurunan tekanan darah antara kelompok intervensi musik dan kelompok yang tidak diberikan intervensi musik. Alunan musik dapat menstimulasi tubuh mengeluarkan molekul nitric oxide yang menyebabkan pelebaran pembuluh darah sehingga dapat menurunkan tekanan darah. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah pemberian terapi musik efektif terhadap pengendalian tekanan darah pada penderita hipertensi. Scoping Review: Music Effects as Additional Therapy on Controlling Blood Pressure in Hypertensive PatientsHypertension was an increase in systolic blood pressure ≥140 mmHg and diastolic ≥90 mmHg, measured twice, five minutes apart in a calm state. The prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia in 2013 was recorded at 25.8% and became 34.1% in 2018. Treatment of hypertension in addition to using drugs, can be given non-pharmacological therapy, which is music therapy. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of music as an additional therapy on controlling blood pressure in hypertensive patients. This research is a Scoping Review, by searching articles from the database Science Direct, Neliti, and DOAJ obtained 2,784 articles. The screening results that matched the inclusion criteria were 474 articles. The results of the feasibility test were based on PICOS and after a critical review there were six articles that met the requirements. The research was conducted in the period September–December 2020. The results of the study and analysis of six articles stated that giving music for 15–25 minutes affected blood pressure and there were differences in blood pressure before and after being given music to people with hypertension. In addition, five articles stated that there were differences in blood pressure in hypertensive patients who were not given music therapy. Three articles stated that there were differences in the effect of lowering blood pressure between the music intervention group and the group that was not given music intervention. The music can stimulate body to release nitric oxide molecules which cause blood vessels to dilate so that can lower blood pressure. The conclusion of this study is that music therapy is effective in controlling blood pressure in hypertensive patients.

<p>The prevalence of hypertension in Sleman Regency in 2015 was 33.2%, where hypertension was ranked second from the top ten outpatient diseases in the Puskesmas in Sleman Regency. Hypertension requires regular and continuous treatment to prevent further complications. Therefore, it is necessary to have complementary therapies as adjuvants such as Javanese music therapy as a therapeutic choice. Langgam Javanese music is classical music that has been well known by the people in Yogyakarta. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Javanese style music therapy on changes in blood pressure in hypertension patients in the control group and intervention group. This study was a quasi-experimental study that compared changes in blood pressure in the intervention group and the control group. The sample used was hypertensive patients who routinely treated in Depok II Health Center, as many as 60 people, 30 people in the intervention group and 30 people in the control group. The results showed that there difference in systolic and dyastolic blood pressure significantly in the intervention group compared to the control group with a value of P = 0,000 (&lt;0.05). Langgam Jawa music therapy can be chosen as an adjuvant therapy for hypertensive patients in DI Yogyakarta.</p>

Background: Surgery is one of medical interventions which can cause fear, anxiety, and stressed because of its effects toward the integrity of body and soul. Nurses have significant roles in any preoperative care which is helping patients to decrease preoperative anxiety by using complementary therapy. The use of music therapy as one of the complementary therapies is not common in Indonesia. Therefore, scientific studies to prove the role of this therapy to decrease the level of anxiety of pre-operative patients is needed. Objective: To investigate the effects of music therapy in reducing anxiety levels of preoperative patients. Methods: A quasy experimental study with pre-test and post-test design with control group was applied to 50 respondents from medical ward in Panembahan Senopati Hospital of Yogyakarta who met the inclusion criteria.Dara were then analyzed by using t-test statistical analysis. Results: The control group showed the increased value of anxiety level of0.8 without music intervention (t= - 1503, df = 24, p<.05), whereas the intervention group showed the decreased value of anxiety level of -5.52 (t=5.081, df=24, p<.05). Meanwhile the independent t-test results for both groups showed a significant difference between group (t= 3,373, df=48, p<.05). Conclusion: Music therapy has significant effect in reducing preoperative anxiety levels of patients. Keywords: anxiety, preoperative, music therapy

Hypertension is a disease that is not uncommon in the community, including the Bukit Lau Kersik village. People with hypertension often do not show long-term symptoms and can be life-threatening. However, one of the management of hypertension that can be used as non-pharmacological therapy is consuming starfruit juice and cucumber which is quite easy to find in the Bukit Lau Kersik village. This combination of juices contains potassium which can reduce blood pressure in patients with hypertension. This study used Equivalent Time Sample Design with 14 subjects with hypertension in the Bukit Lau Kersik Village, Gunung Sitember Subdistrict, Dairi District. The technique of this research sample used Non-Probability Sampling with Saturated Sampling. The instrument used was a sphygmomanometer and a stethoscope. Bivariate data analysis in this study was the Wilcoxon statistical test. Based on the data analysis performed, the value of p = 0.011 (p= < 0.05) was obtained, meaning that there was a significant relationship between giving star fruit juice and cucumber to hypertensive patients. Then it can be concluded that there is an influence between giving star fruit and cucumber juice to blood pressure reduction in hypertensive patients in Bukit Lau Kersik Village Gunung Sitember Subdistrict, Dairi District in 2019. Suggestion: The factors that affect blood pressure in hypertensive patients and checking blood pressure before drinking star fruit juice and cucumber.

Wet cupping therapy  removes toxins  thereby increasing blood flow and  stimulating baroreceptors sensitivity which provides a stimulus to the autonomic nerves. This stimulus reduces the sympathetic nerves’ work and inhibits  the vasomotor center, leading to vasodilation, therefore decreasing blood pressure and pulse frequency. This research aims to determine the effect of wet cupping therapy on baroreceptors sensitivity with blood pressure and pulse frequency indicators. It was conducted in Sidenreng Rappang Regency, South Sulawesi, eastern Indonesia from February to May 2021. Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) method was used including two groups of 31 respondents each. The intervention group used wet cupping therapy to regulate anti-hypertensive drugs and the control group used anti-hypertensive drugs with blood pressure and pulse frequency measurements until 6 weeks after the therapy. Wet cupping affects baroreceptor sensitivity by reducing the indicators. The result showed a significant difference in blood pressure measurement (systolic; diastolic) before and after the 2-week follow-up period (P = 0.000; P = 0.001), and between 2 and 4 weeks (P = 0.000; P = 0.000), but between 4 and 6 weeks there was no significant difference in the intervention group (P = 0.248; P = 0.583). There was a significant difference in pulse frequency at 2 and 4 weeks after the intervention (P = 0.016). In conclusion, wet cupping therapy effectively increases baroreceptor sensitivity by reducing blood pressure and pulse frequency indicators in hypertensive patients up to 4 weeks limit after the therapy, without any serious side effects experienced by respondents.

Background: Elderly as one of vulnerable population has experienced several risk of cardiovascular system disturbance such as hypertension. Hypertension be non communicable disease most suffered elderly in some countries. Objective: This literature review aimed at describing the effect of traditional music therapy on blood pressure among elderly with hypertension. Method: This study carried out from databases such as EBSCOhost, Scopus, Pubmed, ProQuest, Science Direct and Sage with limited years of an article published in the last ten years (2008-2018). Result: Fifteen most relevant articles were extracted in this study and found that traditional music therapy provide a positive effect to decrease blood pressure’s elderly with hypertension and this finding explained clearly with Roy’s Adaptation Model. Conclusion: Traditional music therapy provides a positive effect in lowering blood pressure’s elderly with hypertension. This therapy can be given as single intervention or collaboration with other non pharmacological therapy such as calisthenics, breathing exercises, muscle relaxation, lifestyle modifications and walking-based exercise.

Complementary therapies in both music and murottal therapy are beleaved effective because the songs and Quranic verses can have a therapeutic effect through the mind and physiology of human. This study was to identify differences influence of murotal therapy and music therapy in lowering blood pressure, This study used a quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest approach design. The sample used in this study were 30 respondents who are divided into 2 intervention groups, group 1used murottal and group 2 terpy murottal used music therapy in hypertensive patients in Kepuh village of used Rw 04 and 05 Palimanan Cirebon sampling technique cluster rondom sampling. Statistical tests using t test. Results of data analysis showed there is significantdifferencebetweenthebloodpressureaftermurottaltherapywiththeblood pressure after music therapy in hypertensive patients, whith p value 0,001. Age and genderfactorsareconsideredhaveinfluenceinloweringbloodpressureaftermurottal therapy. The results of this study are expected to be the basis of complementary therapies and can be implemented as independent and innovative interventions in the nursing care of patients with hypertension.

Abstract. Background: Hypertension has a significant impact on public health and has become a major health care burden worldwide. One non-pharmacological therapy that can be given to reduce blood pressure in hypertensive patients is Isometric Handgrip Exercise exercise therapy. This therapy has been shown to reduce blood pressure which is almost the same as intense aerobic exercise. This literature review aims to analyze the effects of the application of Isometric Handgrip Exercise in reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients. Method: This research explores quantitative evidence published in electronic databases such as Pubmed, and Google Scholar. Using a search strategy, we identified 16 articles that were potentially and relevant to the research objectives, and 4 articles were included in the final analysis. Results: We could see a significant effect on systolic and diastolic blood pressure reduction in the group given the Isometric Handgrip Exercise intervention compared with the control group. Conclusion: Research results from several articles in this review literature show that Isometric Handgrip Exercise exercises are proven to be effective in reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients.
