Hypertension is a non-communicable disease which increases every year, with the increasing incidence of Hypertension will have an impact on society, namely a decrease in health status which results in a decrease in the quality of life. Management of hypertension can be done with non-pharmacological therapy, one of the non-pharmacological therapies chosen by the community, namely complementary therapy, neck massage therapy using VCO and cupping is a complementary therapy that aims to reduce hypertension. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The sample in this study 16 respondents were given neck massage therapy with VCO and 16 respondents were given dry cupping therapy. The data analysis used was the Spearman rank because the data were not normally distributed. Before being given neck massage therapy with a mean VCO, systolic blood pressure was 156.25, diastolic blood pressure was 87.50 after being given a mean value of 124.38 and diastolic 81.25 with a systolic p value of 0.000 while for diastolic blood pressure of 0.008. Whereas in the group given dry cupping therapy systolic blood pressure with a mean of 158.82 and diastole a mean of 90.59, after being given dry cupping therapy, systolic blood pressure was 124.71 while diastole was 78.82 with a systolic p value of 0.000 and diastole of 0.009. The difference in blood pressure in the two interventions for the system p value was 0.968 while for diastole the p value was 0.625, which means there was no difference between the two interventions. So it can be concluded that both neck massage therapy with VCO and dry cupping therapy can reduce blood pressure in patients with hypertension.

Introduction: Hypertension is a widely recognized public health problem worldwide. Its further complications lead to cardiovascular diseases, stroke, retinal and renal diseases. DASH diet has been recommended to control raised blood pressure among hypertensive patients. However; limited evidence exists for it in Asian countries. This study aimed to review published research articles on DASH diet for hypertension control. Methods: Studies on hypertension and DASH diet (N=54) were searched using PubMed Central from 2012 to 2019 including all countries. The search strategy consisted of keywords "hypertension OR raised blood pressure OR blood pressure" and "Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension OR DASH diet". Whereas; no limitation was used for searching the literature and further references of the relevant studies were also analyzed. Full text articles of 31 researches were retrieved and analyzed for this review article. Results: Findings of this review suggests that DASH diet is significantly effective in lowering the blood pressure as well as for prevention of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). In addition, a low-sodium diet is beneficial for individuals and hypertensive patients in reducing CVD related events. However; evidence suggests that adherence to DASH diet for a longer duration is effective along with lifestyle modifications in the population. Conclusion: Consuming a DASH diet as recommended can be a useful preventive measure to reduce blood pressure. Country-specific dietary recommendations are thus required. DASH diet along with pharmacological therapy and lifestyle modifications are proven to be effective. Further, longitudinal studies establishing temporal associations between consumption of DASH diet and its effect on blood pressure will be essential for clinical and public health practice.

Hypertension is one type of non-communicable disease, which is increasing every year. Hypertension is a condition where systolic blood pressure ≥ 140 mmHg and / or diastolic blood pressure ≥ 90 mmHg. Today the treatment of a disease including hypertension has been widely modified between pharmacological therapy and non-pharmacological therapy. One of the non-pharmacological therapies currently used is autogenic relaxation. Autogenic relaxation technique is one of the relaxation techniques that comes from ourselves in the form of words or short sentences or thoughts that can make the mind calm. Autogenic relaxation is done by imagining yourself in a state of peace and calm, focusing on regulating your breath and heartbeat. This study aims to determine the effect of autogenic relaxation on anxiety levels and changes in blood pressure in patients with hypertension history at Cipayung Health Center, East Jakarta. The research design used was a Quasi-experimental research design. The number of research samples is 58 respondents. The results showed that there were differences in systolic blood pressure (p = 0.000) and the anxiety level of respondents (p = 0.000) after autogenic relaxation interventions were performed.

Scoping Review: Music Effects as Additional Therapy on Controlling Blood Pressure in Hypertensive PatientsHypertension was an increase in systolic blood pressure ≥140 mmHg and diastolic ≥90 mmHg, measured twice, five minutes apart in a calm state. The prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia in 2013 was recorded at 25.8% and became 34.1% in 2018. Treatment of hypertension in addition to using drugs, can be given non-pharmacological therapy, which is music therapy. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of music as an additional therapy on controlling blood pressure in hypertensive patients. This research is a Scoping Review, by searching articles from the database Science Direct, Neliti, and DOAJ obtained 2,784 articles. The screening results that matched the inclusion criteria were 474 articles. The results of the feasibility test were based on PICOS and after a critical review there were six articles that met the requirements. The research was conducted in the period September–December 2020. The results of the study and analysis of six articles stated that giving music for 15–25 minutes affected blood pressure and there were differences in blood pressure before and after being given music to people with hypertension. In addition, five articles stated that there were differences in blood pressure in hypertensive patients who were not given music therapy. Three articles stated that there were differences in the effect of lowering blood pressure between the music intervention group and the group that was not given music intervention. The music can stimulate body to release nitric oxide molecules which cause blood vessels to dilate so that can lower blood pressure. The conclusion of this study is that music therapy is effective in controlling blood pressure in hypertensive patients.
