It is important for the design engineer to realize that scatter and variability of materials properties are inevitable and must be dealt with appropriately. On occasion, data must be subjected to statistical treatments and probabilities determined. The fracture toughness of pipe steel has great effect on the safety of welded pressure pipe. The fracture toughness test of circumferential welded joint was carried out in this paper for X65 pressure pipe steel. The fracture toughness experimental results were analyzed by using computer program developed by ourselves. The distribution of weld fracture toughness of X65 pressure pipe steel which may accord with normal distribution, lognormal distribution or weibull distribution can be determined by calculating the results only one time. The program, which plays an important role in structure reliability analysis, can be used to determine the probability statistic distribution of the mechanical properties. The calculated results indicate that the weld fracture toughness of the X65 pressure pipe steel can either accord with normal distribution, lognormal distribution or weibull distribution, but the optimum fitting distribution of the fracture toughness is weibull distribution.

Abstract Significant contributions on the improvement of the mechanical properties of hydroxyapatite (HAp) have been widely reported. However, failure analysis (mechanical reliability) and modeling are missing. This article filled the gap by conducting Two-parameter Weibull distribution assisted by modeling to investigate the mechanical reliability of HAp. The employed HAp was characterized under SEM/EDS analysis. The results revealed the characteristics of HAp and also the nature of the synthesis route employed through its irregular morphology. The Two-parameter Weibull distribution analysis was conducted on the hardness and compressive strength of HAp scaffold. The characteristic hardness and compressive strength, coupled with their corresponding bounds, failure rates, and correlation coefficients were been presented. The Weibull analysis with the assistance of modeling revealed HAp fabricated under 10 KN compaction load and sintered at 1100 oC as the most reliable sample under hardness condition, while HAp fabricated under 15 KN compaction load and sintered at 1000 oC gave the most reliable characteristic under compression. However, 15 KN compaction load and 1100 oC sintering temperature showed the best reliability on the overall mechanical (hardness and compressive strength) reliability. Future study is recommended on the reliability of HAp scaffolds considering other mechanical properties that are essential for biomedical application.

Public Service Mall (PSM) Grha Tiyasain Bogor City is one place that provides services to the public in terms of services. As a public service, Grha Tiyasa should measure whether the services offered to meet consumer expectations. The purpose of writing this paper is to analyze the capability of the process of issuing licensing services and consumer perceptions of services provided by PSMGrha Tiyasa. The process capability analysis criteria used are Pp and Ppk because the data is non-normal distribution. Analysis using Minitab 16.0. The results of the study show that the capability of the service process at the time of issuance of permits has a value of Pp = 1 and Ppk = 0.49. This value indicates that the process capability is excellent. The capability of the process of perception or assessment of consumers of services is quite good. This fact is indicated by the value of Pp = 5.52 and Ppk = 1.70. Mall Pelayanan Publik (MPP) Grha Tiyasadi Kota Bogor merupakan salah satu tempat yang memberikan pelayanan kepada masyarakat. Sebagai  pelayan publik, Grha Tiyasa harus mengukur apakah layanan yang ditawarkan memenuhi harapan konsumen. Tujuan penulisan makalah ini adalah untuk menganalisis kapabilitas proses pemberian layanan perizinan dan persepsi konsumen terhadap layanan yang diberikan oleh MPP Grha Tiyasa. Kriteria analisis kapabilitas proses yang digunakan adalah Pp dan Ppk karena data tidak berdistribusi normal. Analisis menggunakan Minitab 16.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kapabilitas proses pelayanan pada saat izin diterbitkan memiliki nilai Pp = 1 dan Ppk = 0,49. Nilai ini menunjukkan bahwa kapabilitas proses sangat baik. Kemampuan proses persepsi atau penilaian konsumen terhadap jasa cukup baik. Fakta ini ditunjukkan dengan nilai Pp = 5,52 dan Ppk = 1,70.

Application of Weibull distribution in a generalized way to estimate wind potential cannot always be advisable. The novelty of this work is to estimate wind potential using Normal probability density function. A comparison of five probability distributions namely Normal, Gamma, Chi-Squared, Weibull, and Rayleigh was done using three performance evaluation criteria. Four years (2015–2018) hourly wind data at 50 m height at five stations near the coastline of Pakistan was used. It was found that normal distribution gives the best fit at each of these stations and against each evaluation criterion followed by Weibull distribution while Rayleigh distribution gives the poorest fit. Further energy generation by fifteen turbine models was calculated and GE 45.7 was found the best in terms of amount of energy generation and capacity factors while Vestas V42 shows the worst. However, GE/1.5 SL is the most economical while Vestas V63 is the least. Among five locations, Shahbandar is the best potential site while Manora is the least.
