This research involves the preparation of new ligands 1,1,2,2- tetrakis (sodium acetate thio)ethylene(L1) and 1,1,2- tris(sodiumacetatethio) ethylene(L2), through the reaction of disodium thioglycolate) with tetra chloro ethylene or tri chloro ethylene in (1:4) or (1:3) moler ratio . Homodinucliar complexes of general formlu [M2(L1)] and [M2(L2)ClH2O] , when M= Co(II), Ni(II), Cu (II) and Zn(II) also mono nuclear complexes of general formula [M(L2)] . The prepared complexes were characterized using spectral method (UV/Visible/ IR) , metal content analysis , magnetic and atomic measurements . The spectral and magnetic measurement indicats that some complexes have tetrahedral or square planar complexes environtment .

In this report, synthesis and characterization of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) from gold leaf by electrolysis in two different media (gel and paper) in presence of sodium chloride (NaCl), glucose (C6H12O6) and polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) at room temperature were investigated. Graphite was used as two electrodes, NaCl was used as an electrolyte, C6H12O6 was used as reducing agent and PVP was used as stabilizer to control the aggregation of the nanoparticles. UV-Visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to confirm the characteristics and morphologies of the synthesized AuNPs.

The novel Y2O3 nanoflowers were synthesized through a facile hydrothermal method without using any catalyst or template. The phase composition and the microstructure of as-prepared products were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) as well as Fourier transform infrared spectrum. The formation mechanism for the Y2O3 flowers has been proposed.

The synthesis and characterization of three monomeric aluminum porphycenes with anionic or σ-bonded axial ligands is reported. The investigated compounds are represented as ( EtioPc ) Al ( CH 3) and ( EtioPc ) AlX where EtioPc represents the dianion of etioporphycene and X = Cl − or OH −. Each synthesized complex was characterized by mass spectrometry. 1 H NMR, IR and UV-visible spectroscopies as well as by electrochemistry. Comparisons are made between the properties of complexes in the aluminum etioporphycene series and related chloro- or methyl σ-bonded Al ( III ) porphyrins containing octaethylporphyrin ( OEP ) or tetraphenylporphyrin ( TPP ) macrocycles. Comparisons are also made between the currently investigated compounds and a previously reported Al ( III ) μ-oxo dimer, [( EtioPc ) Al ]2 O . In addition, the crystal and molecular structure of ( EtioPc ) Al ( CH 3) was determined by X-ray diffraction. The molecular structure of this methyl-σ-bonded aluminum etioporphycene provides the first structural data for an aluminum porphycene compound. The aluminum(III) atom in ( EtioPc ) Al ( CH 3) is pentacoordinated and is located 0.54 Å from the plane of the four N -nitrogens.

Graphene was synthesized by microwave-hydrothermal chemical reduction of graphite oxide using hydrazine hydrate as the reducing agent. Graphene was characterized using X-ray diffraction, UV-visible spectrum, FT-IR spectrum and scanning electron microscopy. Results indicated that the as-prepared graphene was wrinkled and comprised fewer graphenes with a highly crystalline structure.

We report the synthesis and characterization of a new family of pentavalent uranyl amide complexes, supported also by photoluminescence and theoretical investigations. These studies reveal for the first time that the UV-visible emission of uranyl(V) is an admixture of charge transfer transitions accompanied by vibronic coupling of the quartet excited state with uranyl oxo and amide vibrations, thereby offering new insights into the electronic structure of the reactive uranyl(V)

Complex iron(III) salicylaldehyde thiosemicarbazone with a formula Na[Fe(STSC)2] have been synthesized. Ligand, salicylaldehyde thiosemicarbazone (SCT) was prepared through the condensation reaction of salycilaldehide with thiosemicarbazide. Na[Fe(STSC)2] has been synthesized by reacting FeCl3 with thiosemicarbazide based ligand bearing ONS donor atoms. Complex has been formulated and characterized by mass spectrometry, infrared and UV/visible spectroscopy. The facts showed the formation of a complex in metal:ligand stoichiometric ratio 1:2. The ligand is coordinated as an ONS tridentate dianion via oxygen atom after the deprotonation of the phenolic OH-group, azomethine nitrogen and sulphur in thiol form of the deprotonated thiosemicarbazide residue. Antioxidant activity was determined, where ligand showed significant activity, while complex, at low concentration, exhibited almost no activity.

The ligand, 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-stearoylpyrazol-5-one (HSPy), and its La(III) and W(VI) complexes were synthesized and characterized spectroscopically using elemental analysis, UV-visible, IR, 1H and 13C NMR. Physical properties such as colour, melting points, conductivity measurements and solubility profile were also investigated. La(III) and W(VI) reacted with the ligand in the metal-ligand mole ratios of 1:3 and 1:2 to form neutral complexes of diaquo-trischelate La(SPy)3.2H2O and dioxoaquo-bischelate, WO2(SPy)2.H2O respectively.

The complexes of Benzil-2, 4-dinitrophenyl hydrazone-p- bromo aniline with Ti(III),V(III), VO(IV),MoO (V), Fe(II), Fe(III) have synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, magnetic measurement data, molar conductance, TGA,UV-visible and IR spectra data. The complexes of Ti (III), V (III), Fe (II) and Fe (III) have octahedral geometry while VO (IV) and MoO(V) have distorted octahedral geometry due to the presence of M=O moiety.

Nano- Mg(OH) 2 was synthesized by co-precipitation method. Peaks between 500 and 1250 cm-1 in FTIR spectroscopy confirmed the presence of metal hydroxide stretching. TGA inferred that above 600°C, 50% of residue weight remained. HRTEM of nanocomposite gave an idea about the nonspherical morphology of particles of size 25 nm to 30 nm. SEM inferred that flower-like morphology for pristine Mg(OH) 2 and higher % weight of aniline-intercalated Mg(OH) 2 had agglomerated structure. UV visible spectrum inferred the presence of Mg 2+ ion at 275 nm and the presence of amino-group-intercalated Mg(OH) 2, which had a sharp peak at 193 nm and the intensity of which increases with the increase in % weight of aniline. PL inferred that aniline-intercalated Mg(OH) 2 showed a lower intensity of which increased with higher wavelength value than the pristine and nanocomposite with PVA.
