A Survey: E-Learning Affects, Satisfaction and Sentiments of Students of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Shaheed Benazirabad,Pakistan

In this paper authors have concluded the satisfaction of undergraduate students about the e-learning (electronic learning) during pandemic situation. The data is collected through research questionarrie from 94 students of Information Technology departmentof Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University, Shaheed Benazirabad. From the total participants 75.5% were male and 24.5% were female. from the result analysis we concluded that those students who are already computer literate and established financial background they managed to learn by home however those who have lack of computer knowledge, belongs from the rural areas and unavailability of internet facility they are not supposed to manage the online classes. few students reports that they don’t have computing devices and internet facility therefore they come at the friend’s residency to attend the online class or to attempt the online examination. As we asked one open-ended question to share their experience about the online learning, from that response we have calculated overall sentiments about the students through the MonkeyLearn online tool, results of sentiments shows that 55.3% positive emotions and reset of the students showed negative emotions about the online learning.

A survey was conducted to assess the impact of lockdown due to COVID-19 on online education of undergraduate learners of government colleges Umarban, district Dhar (454449) Madhya Pradesh, India. An online as well as offline survey was conducted from 10 October 2020 to 15 March 2021 to collect the information. To analyze the possibility and attention of students for online education, various online quizzes were conducted in which a structural questionnaire link using ‘Google form’ was sent to students through WhatsApp. A total of 265 students were taken for the survey. The simple percentage distribution was used to assess the learning status of the study participants. During the lockdown period, around 15.47% of learners were involved in e-learning. Most of the learners were used android mobile for attending e-learning. The present study revealed that around 60% of students were seen to involve in farming during lockdown instead of online classes. In addition to this, 45% of students never joined an online class during the entire session. Further analysis demonstrated that 13% of students do not have their own mobile phone, nearly 18% could not join due to poor internet connectivity, 21% of students faced unfavorable study environment at home and 3% of students have other reasons. This study also showed a comparative analysis of the presence of students before and after the COVID 19 pandemic. As the ratio of presence of students in physical and virtual classrooms was 2.32. The overall results from this study revealed that especially in rural areas COVID – 19 pandemic had affected more adversely on classroom attendance, where people already do not want to give importance to education. Higher education institutions may benefit from these findings while formulating strategies to support students during this pandemic. Moreover, to promote education in COVID 19 era strong strategies are urgently needed.

The usage of videos in undergraduate students’ engineering education has gained importance in recent years. Videos, which are used as a supportive tool in traditional engineering education, have become a source of information in online learning environments. The aim of this study is to examine the effects of educational videos on engineering undergraduate students’ laboratory applications and its examination of opinions developed within the scope of e-learning. For this purpose, the sample consisting of 50 undergraduate students from the civil engineering department has been used for this research. Pre-test and post-test process conducted within the scope of in this research were resulted in a meaningful difference after the analyses of Paired Samples t-Test (p=0.02) was made. This result shows that online learning platforms in engineering education and educational videos positively affect the students’ attitude. In addition, it is found out that educational videos affect the learning process as a useful educational source. Moreover, the instructors’ educational videos, which are Digital Learning Materials, positively impact the students’ motivation during the courses.

This paper presents the second paper in a series outlining the results of a recent research project that aimed to identify student paramedic perceptions of case-based learning (CBL) in the clinical curriculum of the Bachelor of Emergency Health (BEH) degree at Monash University. The integration of student-centred learning (SCL) and CBL within clinical education is an important part of undergraduate prehospital education at Monash University. This e-learning pedagogy has facilitated the creation of small online learning communities, and allowed closer scrutiny of the current technological teaching and learning environment. The study concludes that CBL is a congruent teaching methodology in clinical curricula for prehospital BEH undergraduate students.

This paper aimed to investigate the online learning experience of a group of ESL students at a higher learning institution in Oman during the Covid-19. The paper studied the interaction between the students’ preferred online learning style and the technologies the students experienced on the e-learning platform (Moodle) for the particular ESL course. The rationale for investigating the relationship between the students’ learning styles and the technologies the students experienced is to evaluate if the learning style and the technologies complement each other. It is also aimed to provide an evaluation of an ESL e-learning course by considering the different technologies that can be incorporated into the e-learning classroom to meet the different learning styles. Data was gathered from 32 undergraduate students by utilizing Kolb’s Learning Styles Inventory. The study included analysis of Moodle utilizing Warburton’s Technologies in Use (2007) to develop an understanding of the technologies the students experienced online. The results of the study revealed that the majority of the students’ preferred learning style is reflected in the technologies they experienced in the online classroom. As the relationship of the technology in use and the students learning style preference in the classroom complements each other, the study revealed that the emphasis of the particular skill-based pedagogy ESL classroom is on receptive skills (listening and reading). The lack of the students’ productive skills (speaking and writing) is a cause for concern to the ESL course instructors, policymakers, and the wider community.

It is evident that information and communication technologies (ICTs) have improved performance and efficiency for different types of organizations. One of the important applications of ICT in public and private businesses is related to education, where electronic learning (e-learning) is a domain that became a paradigm more than a specific application. To utilize the full benefits of e-learning in public education and to exploit the diverse options of e-learning and specifically the synchronization of learning, digital divide is becoming an important obstacle that prevents teachers, students, and society members from benefiting from this phenomenon. Governments are striving to bridge the digital divide so that equal opportunities for education are guaranteed for their citizens in urban and rural areas. It is vital to explore the influence of digital divide on rural areas and how it affects the learning process. This study will explore the digital divide phenomenon, its relationship to e-learning concepts, how governments bridge this divide through e-government options, and finally, conduct an empirical test that explores the perceptions of students living in rural areas around the digital divide and its relationship to e-learning and education.

The COVID-19 pandemic that occurred in early 2020 around the world has implications for Indonesia’s education sector. This pandemic led to the Indonesian government policy to study from home at all academic levels using a distance learning approach. Studies on e-learning preparedness in Indonesia involving more comprehensive samples of universities during the pandemic are still limited. This study extended samples from several public and private universities in Indonesia to get a broader picture of e-learning readiness in various faculties with diverse university online learning cultures. This study used Rasch analysis to determine the validity and reliability of the instrument and differential item functioning (DIF) analysis to identify responses based on students’ demographic profiles. The results show that most students were ready to study online, but a few were not ready. Moreover, the results show significant differences in students’ e-learning readiness based on the academic year at university, the field of study, the level of organizational e-learning culture of the university, gender, and region. This work provides an insight into student readiness to study online, especially in higher education in Indonesia. The article presents the implications of online learning practices in universities and recommendations for future e-learning research.

The present study aims to determine the extent to which online learning (or e-learning) motivation during COVID-19 Pandemic for undergraduate students at Shiraz University in Shiraz, Iran. It also plans to compare students’ level of motivation for online learning, based on their gender and field of study. For these purposes, the researcher adopted a quantitative comparative research design, using a questionnaire which was developed and checked for internal consistency. The questionnaire was administered on 200 undergraduate students of civil engineering and psychology at Shiraz University. After the collected data were split by gender and field of study two independent samples t-tests were conducted to assess the significance of the results and to determine if there was a significant difference in their online learning motivation among the resulting groups for each independent variable. The research findings showed that undergraduate students are rather highly motivated to online learning regardless of their gender or field of study. No significant difference in online learning motivation between male and female university students was derived from the data analysis. However, in relation to field of study, it was found that the overall online learning motivation for civil engineering students was significantly higher than psychology students.

Abstract Background The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted teaching in a variety of institutions, especially in medical schools. Electronic learning (e-learning) became the core method of teaching the curriculum during the pandemic. After eight weeks of only online learning, a survey was conducted to investigate perception of this type of learning amongst medical students.Methods A survey was conducted by distributing an online questionnaire to Polish medical students. Data gathered from the survey was analyzed with routine statistical software.Results 804 students answered the questionnaire. According to respondents’ answers, the main advantages of online learning were the ability to stay at home (69%), continuous access to online materials (69%), learning at your own pace (64%), and comfortable surroundings (54%). The majority of respondents chose lack of interactions with patients (70%) and technical problems with IT equipment (54%) as the main disadvantages. There was no statistical difference between face-to-face and online learning in terms of opinions on the ability of the learning method to increase knowledge (p=.46). E-learning was considered less effective than face-to-face learning in terms of increasing skills (p<.001) and social competences (p<.001). Students assessed that they were less active during online classes compared to traditional classes (p<.001). E-learning was rated as enjoyable by 73% of respondents.Conclusions E-learning is a powerful tool for teaching medical students. However, successful implementation of online learning into the curriculum requires a well thought-out strategy and a more active approach.
