Speaking is a crucial part of the language learning process. However, many students find speaking as one of the most difficult skills in English. Therefore, the researcher wants to improve the students’ speaking ability through the suitable teaching method, in this case the debate. The objective of this research referring to the research problem is to find out how the debate method can improve speaking ability. Based on the research problem and the relevant theory, the hypothesis of this research is described as follows: Debate method improves the speaking ability of the fifth semester students of Universitas Muhammadiyah Jember in the 2017 / 2018 academic year by developing their activeness in expressing oral argument logically in a systematic way. The design of this research is classroom action research. The research subject is the fifth semester class consisting of 34 students. Test and observation are used to obtain the data. The data collection involved a number of instruments namely Test of Speaking English and Speaking Rubric. It was then evaluated by using speaking rubric covering fluency, pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar. Debate method improves the students’ speaking ability in two cycles from M = 61.84 in Cycle 1 to M = 70.34 in Cycle 2 and the percentage of students scored  (E = 66.67%) in Cycle 1 to (E = 83.34%) in Cycle 2. The observation result from 56.15% students’ activeness in Cycle 1 to 85.29% students’ activeness in Cycle 2. Based on the data above, there was significant impact of Cycle 2 implementation on the students’ speaking ability. It can be concluded that debate method is able to improve the students’ speaking ability.

The objective of this research was to find out whether there was an increase on students’ and teacher’s activity, students’ creativity, and students’ writing skill through the implementation of project based learning (PjBL). The research design was a classroom action research. The subjects were the first graders of class Tata Kecantikan Kulit (TKK) or Skin and Beauty Treatment at Vocational High School State 3 Metro, known as SMKN 3 Metro, in the second semester, academic year 2015/2016. This action research was done by doing: 1) planning; 2) implementation; 3) observation and data collection; and 4) reflection. Meanwhile, the PjBL was done through six steps, i.e.: 1) determining the project; 2) planning the steps of doing the project; 3) scheduling the project implementation; 4) completing project with guide and supervision from the teacher; 5) making report and presenting project result; 6) evaluatiing process and project result. The instruments of this research were students and teacher observation, creativity assesssment, and writing skill assesssment. The findings showed that the students’ and teacher’s activity gradually increased in each cycle. PjBL implementation also seemed to be effective in increasing the students’ creativity and writing skill. It indicated that by applying PjBL, the aspects of students’ and teacher’s activity in learning process, students’ creativity and writing skill could be directly influenced by the treatment.Key words: PjBL, activity, creativity, writing skill

The lack of motivation and result of teaching-learning process obtained by the students are the problems faced by technical study programs, including the one at the Faculty of Engineering of Universitas Negeri Padang. This paper discusses the actions done through classroom action research as the attempt to raise the students’ motivation and the result of teaching learning process. The object of the research was the students of D3 regular program of electrical engineering in the academic year of 2005/2006. The result of the research shows that a set of actions, namely: (i) attracting the students to discuss the nature of Technical English subject; (ii) improving and correcting the students’ attitude and perception towards Technical English subject; (iii) applying teaching method and techniques based on natural-constructivism approach; (iv) varying techniques and materials of teaching; (v) using modern equipments, materials, instruments, and facilities effectively, could raise the students’ motivation and their result of teaching-learning process of Technical English subject.

The background this research is the low learning activity of students, especially in questioning skills in the learning process. This study aims to determine whether there is an increase in the learning activities of students after applying the question student have method. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR). The sample of this research was the fourth grade students of the 2018/2019 academic year with 20 students. This research was completed in 2 cycles consisting of four stages, namely planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The data collection instruments used were observation and documentation. The results showed that using the question student have method can improve the learning activities of students in mathematics in fourth grade of Elementary School Pahlawan. The activity level of students before the question student have method was applied was 54.28% in the low category. After applying the question student have method in Cycle I, there was an increase of 61.07% in the middle category, and in Cycle II there was an increase of 80.72% in the high category. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the application of the question student have method can improve the learning activities of students in mathematics.

This research aims to improve the ability to understand Javanese aksara in conjunction with the Javanese script monopoly media in VA students of Muhammadiyah Elementary School Karangkajen Yogyakarta. This research is a Kelass Action Research (PTK) using the Hopkins model which consists of two cycles. The subjects of this study were 26 grade VA students of Muhammadiyah Elementary School Karangkajen Yogyakarta. This research took place in October 2018, in the odd semester of the 2018/2019 academic year. Data collection techniques in this study are test and observation activities during the learning process. The data analysis technique used in this research is quantitative descriptive. The data from the research shows that the use of Javanese script monopoly media in learning Javanese can improve the ability to understand Javanese scripts with the same language. The use of these media can attract students attention and motivate students so that learning outcomes increase. This can be seen from the increasing transliteration of Javanese script into Latin writing and vice versa. In the pre-cycle, the number of students who reached KKM were 2 students or 8% to 15 students or 58% in the first cycle and increased to 25 or 96% in the second cycle.

AbstractThis paper critically aims to enhance English vocabularies among EFL young learners of the fifth grade students through picture-word inductive model at elementary school Zainul Hasan Genggong Probolinggo in the academic year of 2019-2020. The research problem is How is the effective picture-word inductive model to enhance vocabulary among young learners of elemantary school Zainul Hasan Genggong Probolinggo? The type of the research is classroom action research. It was conducted in two cycles. The subjects of the research were 20 students of fifth grade. The data were collected from the test, interview, documentation and observation. The result showed that the students had increased their English vocabulary mastery which can be seen from the test result provided by the researcher. This is the evident from the test result that overall there was an increase in the English vocabulary mastery of 5 grade students as much as 50.70 % in the first cycle and 85.54 % in the second cycle. Meanwhile, the observation result showed that the students seemed more enthusiastic during the learning process.  In reference to the actions conducted in two cycles, the use of the picture-word inductive model enhances the students’ vocabulary by practicing words into sentences and more attention on mechanical aspects such as spelling and pronunciation. Keywords : Young Learners, Vocabulary Mastery, Picture-word inductive model.

This research aimed to find the improvement of the students’ Pronunciation Accuracy and Fluency by using Cooperative Language Learning  at Akademi Bahasa Asing Balikpapan at Third Semester Students in Balikpapan East Kalimantan in the 2018/2019 Academic Year. Cooperative Language Learning was used in a Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research had been conducted in two cycles, each cycle consist of four meetings. It employed Pronunciation test as instrument. A number of research subjects were 37 students in third semester. The instruments were test and observation. The research findings showed that Cooperative Language Learning could improve the students’ Pronunciation mastery from cycle I to cycle II. The students’ achievement from D-Test to cycle I was 12.50%, and after finishing cycle II the students’ achievement became 16.27%. Based on the research findings, the researcher concludes that Cooperative Language Learning gave a significant contribution in learning process of Pronunciation accuracy and fluency

<p><em>The aim of the study is to increase speaking skill in descriptive text by the using of favorite picture media. It is found that there are many students have less interest and activity during English lesson, especially in speaking material. It is because the students get bored during the lesson and the teacher teaches monotonously.. The research design is class action research. Population of this study are 34 students of X MIPA 6 grade SMAN 1 Kawedanan Magetan in first semester, academic year 2017/2018. This research is conducted in two cycles, and each cycle consists of: (1) plan; (2) action implementation; (3) observation; (4) reflection and evaluation. The result of this research shows that in the second cycle, there are 88% or 30 students have good activity during learning process and students’ learning result</em><strong> </strong>in average <em>have gained 80 grade, which is maximum passing criteria (KKM) in English lesson is 75. In conclusion, the application of favorite picture media is able to increase speaking skill in the form of descriptive text.</em></p>

This research is motivated by the participation that requires in the process of learning activities in RA Barokatus Shaulatiyah, NW Puyung namely the level of children's creativity is still low. Children are still not able to develop ideas and imagination that children have. In the learning process the teacher is more dominated by counting, memorizing and reading. In the learning process in the classroom have not used appropriate learning methods and strategies, such as explaining how or methods to color that must be done. So that children become less interested, feel bored and lazy to color. The purpose of this study is to improve the creativity of young children and the quality of learning through coloring activities in children in RA Barokatus Shaulatiyah NW Puyung in 2019/2020 Academic Year. This type of research is Classroom Action Research. This research was conducted in 2 cycles consisting of 3 times at the meeting each cycle. Subjects in this study were class B with a total of 15 students consisting of 9 girls and 6 boys. Data collection is done by observation sheets in the learning process, which is to find out the increase in early childhood creativity. The results showed that the children's creativity was indicated by the achievement of the creativity score before the action was reached 20%, increased to 60% in the first cycle of action, and increased to 92, 5% in the second cycle of action.

<p>This paper highlighted how extremely English language learning that sometimes seemed threatening pupils in the classroom where they were unable to express much attention and confidence. They quantitatively got the worst score for this subject due to several aspects that must be comprehended by students: pronunciation, grammatical structure, vocabulary, and intonation. As long as, students participated in the teaching-learning process, they had standardly done all of the assessment. Therefore, teachers here as the facilitator or counselor should redesign the classroom’s atmosphere and its method; instead, it would invite students to show their best performance. Community Language Learning (CLL) displayed how effectively and efficiently English should be taught. Thus, this research is qualitatively reported to observe how CLL was able to increase the students’ speaking skill in the Material of Remedial Learning for students’ eight grade in SMP Multazam with the total number of 26 students. An observation sheet and the score ranking sheet were as data collection to consider the names. A fluency, a pronunciation, an expression, a vocabulary, and content were the instrument to analysis their performance. This study was Classroom Action Research which revealed that the students are comfortable in joining learning’s experience, and its effects to their competence in speaking skill with the amount of enhancement through 2 cycles; post-test 1 and post-test 2.  CLL was considered to be an effective method since it contributed to the prominent effect of speaking skill.</p>

This study was conducted based on findings related problem with the lack of vocabulary Sundanese early childhood on the group B TK PGRI Cibeureum, this is due to lack of familiarity and use of Sundanese language, as well as the stimulus provided only a librettist. One alternative used in this research is using pictorial word card media. According to some media experts said display card can enhance or enrich the vocabulary of early childhood. This study aims to improve the mastery of vocabulary early childhood Sundanese language using pictorial word card mediain group B at TK PGRI Cibeureum. This study uses a Class Action Research (PTK) and implemented in the B2 group TK PGRI Cibeureum Cibeureum District of Tasikmalaya in the second semester of the academic year in 2017 with the number of students amounted to 10 people. In addition to children, the subjects in this study were researchers, partners and media researcher pictorial word card. Classroom Action Research (CAR), which held 3 cycle by using models Kemmis and Taggart and using data collection techniques of observation and documentation. Results of research conducted showed an increase, this is evidenced by an increase in the ability of teachers in planning lessons, the ability of the teacher in the learning process, the ability of teachers in the use of media and word cards pictorial vocabulary Sundanese early childhood. Recommendations for teachers is illustrated word cards can be used as a medium of learning that children do not feel bored in learning.  Penelitian ini dilakukan berdasarkan temuan masalah yang berkaitan dengan masih kurangnya kosakata bahasa Sunda anak usia dini pada kelompok B di TK PGRI Cibeureum, hal ini dikarenakan kurangnya pembiasaan dan penggunaan bahasa Sunda, serta stimulus yang diberikan hanya berupa nyanyian. Salah satu alternatif yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan media kartu kata bergambar. Menurut beberapa ahli media kartu kata bergambar dapat meningkatkan atau memperkaya kosakata anak usia dini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata bahasa sunda anak usia dini menggunakan media kartu kata bergambarpada kelompok B di TK PGRI Cibeureum. Penelitian ini menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dan dilaksanakan di kelompok B2 TK PGRI Cibeureum Kecamatan Cibeureum Kota Tasikmalaya pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2017 dengan jumlah peserta didik berjumlah 10 orang. Selain anak, subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah peneliti, mitra peneliti dan media kartu kata bergambar. Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan sebanyak 3 siklus dengan menggunakan model kemmis dan taggart serta menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan menunjukkan peningkatan, hal ini dibuktikan dengan adanya peningkatan kemampuan guru dalam merencanakan pembelajaran, kemampuan guru dalam  proses pembelajaran, kemampuan guru dalam penggunaan media kartu kata bergambar serta penguasaan kosakata bahasa Sunda anak usia dini. Rekomendasi  untuk guru yaitu kartu kata bergambar dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu media dalam pembelajaran agar anak tidak merasa jenuh dalam pembelajaran.
