This study designed to improve students’ writing skills through Edublogs of one Senior High Schools in Indonesia. Based on the preliminary observation, there were problems found in the field such as students’ poor writing skills and low interest toward writing, inappropriate teacher’s style in teaching, the role of media and the unsuitable utilization of internet facility. Regarding to the result of the observations, students had some problems in recount text writing those are the generic structure, the purpose and the language features. In addition, they had no capability to make a self-reflection on their mistakes in their own writing. It happens since their English teacher has a tendency to to directly correct their mistakes.This current research was an action research study consisting of two cycles. There are 23 students involved in this study. The data of this study were qualitative and quantitative. The qualitative data were obtained, the first, by observing the teaching and learning process during the implementation of the actions and the second, by interviewing the students and the collaborator about the actions implemented. Furthermore, the qualitative data were in the form of field notes and interview transcripts. Meanwhile, the quantitative data were gained by assessing the students’ writing skills through the pretest and posttest. The qualitative data were analyzed using the qualitative data analysis those are data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The results of this study show that Edublogs is an effective media that can be used to improve students’ writing skills qualitatively and quantitatively. Qualitatively, using Edublogs, teaching and learning process became more interesting. The students enjoyed the writing process. The students’ problems in writing can be reduced by using Edublogs in teaching-learning process by applying writing stages through Edublogs. Quantitatively, the average score gained by the students in cycle one was 67.37 while in cycle two is 72.58. The results, however, show that students’ writing skill improves significantly through blogging activity. Thus, it can be concluded that the students are more enthusiastic and more interested in writing English.

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan proses belajar mengajar Permainan Bola Voli Melalui Metode Pembelajaran Games and competition Pada Siswa Kelas V SD Negeri 14 Lebong Selatan. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada jam belajar Penjasorkes kelas V SD Negeri 14 Lebong Selatan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK), penelitian ini secara obyektif atau apa adanya dengan subyek siswa kelas V SD Negeri 14 Lebong Selatan berjumlah 15 orang. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam 2 siklus, setiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahapan yaitu : (1) perencanaan,  (2) pelaksanaan tindakan, (3) observasi, dan (4) refleksi. Jenis data yang dikumpulkan adalah data kualitatif berupa hasil observasi aktivitas guru dan siswa pada saat proses belajar-mengajar berlangsung. Adapun hasil pengamatan terhadap siswa dalam proses belajar mengajar Permainan Bola Voli Melalui Metode Pembelajaran Games and competition pada siklus I adalah sebesar 55% dari keseluruhan pengamatan terhadap proses belajar mengajar. Pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 85%. Sedangkan hasil pengamatan terhadap guru pada siklus I sebesar 65% dan meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 90%. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa adanya peningkatan yang sangat berarti dalam penerapan metode pembelajaran games and competition pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri 14 Lebong Selatan.Kata Kunci : Proses Belajar Mengajar, Bola Voli, Games and competition.AbstackThis study aims to determine the improvement of teaching and learning process of Ball Games through Learning Methods of Games and competition In Grade V Students of Elementary school 14 Lebong Selatan. This research was conducted at the learning hour of class V of SD Negeri 14 Lebong Selatan. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (PTK), this research is objective or what it is with the subject of grade V students of SD Negeri 14 Lebong Selatan totaling 15 people. This study was conducted in 2 cycles, each cycle consisting of four stages: (1) planning, (2) implementation of action, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. The type of data collected is qualitative data in the form of observation of teacher and student activity during the teaching-learning process. The results of observation of the students in the learning process Teaching Ball Volleyball Through Learning Methods Games and competition in the first cycle is 55% of the overall observation of the teaching and learning process. In the second cycle increased to 85%. While the results of observations of teachers in the first cycle of 65% and increased in cycle II to 90%. So it can be concluded that there is a very significant improvement in the application of learning methods of games and competition on students of grade V Elementary school 14 Lebong Selatan.Keywords: Volleyball, Games and competition, Teaching and Learning Proces

This research aimed to describe the evaluation of ELLIS (English Language Learning and Instruction System) Program in English teaching and learning process in SMP Bopkri 3 Yogyakarta in terms of the context, input, process, and product aspects.This research is an evaluation research employing CIPP model by Stufflebeam (2010). The data were collected through observation, open questionnaires, and interviews and were analyzed using Miles, Huberman and Saldana’s flow model of qualitative data research which included data collection, data condensation, data display and conclusion drawing.The findings revealed that the evaluation of ELLIS Program in English teaching and learning process in SMP Bopkri 3 Yogyakarta related to the process of context was in line with the objective of the program that is improving the students’ English skills and the program can support the English teaching-learning process. In term of input, the program is appropriate according to the required standard for good teaching learning English, this program is supported by the school’s entire component, the facilities of the teaching-learning process is completed, the material in ELLIS program can apply consecutively to be able to improve students’ English skill. On the process of teaching and learning has appropriated, the schedules of ELLIS program is held correctly and on time, every meeting the teacher always use ELLIS, the procedures and activities ELLIS program are implemented correctly, the students always participate actively during the learning process, the students more interested in learning English. Dealing with product the students more understand, easier in catching the material and more comfortable in taking part of the learning process, they feel happy and feel that their ability in learning English increase, the students’ English skill can improve successfully, the students can communicate with the teacher and their other friends in English correctly, the aim of this program can hold successfully. Between 250-300 words; must focus on: aims of the study, methods, findings, conclusions, and implications.

The development of technology can be used as a means of supporting learning. Like learning based on digital products for students.  The study aimed at describing and analyzing the implementation of learning Arabic Writing Skill (<em>Maharah Kitabah</em>) based on digital products, namely the creation and publication of journal articles and its effects on the learning process. This research was conducted on 22 students writing skills class (<em>Maharah Kitabah) </em>3, 5th of the semester. The method in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques are, 1) observation of learning writing skills (<em>Maharah Kitabah</em>) III, 2) interviews with lecturers and students writing skills classes (<em>Maharah Kitabah</em>) III about the implementation of Arabic Writing Skill (<em>Maharah Kitabah</em>)based on digital product and the impact, and 3) documentation of learning data and works student digital products. <em>Maharah Kitabah </em>learning based on digital products in the form of writing scientific articles online by utilizing references and references of digital managers has a good impact for the students who took part in the <em>Maharah Kitabah</em> learning process with this model, all students were able to make Arabic journal articles using Mendeley and Turnitin citations, and students were able to publish Arabic journal articles to national e-journals.

Teaching speaking of descriptive text in vocational high school should be in systematic way. Based on the syllabus of K13, the students had to master the generic structure and organization in descriptive text. The researcher tried to explore the teaching-learning process in the eleventh grade of SMK Kartika. This research used descriptive qualitative research. It focused on understanding the teaching-learning process from the teacher’s viewpoint of this research. This descriptive research required the researcher to explain scientifically the fact, events, and characteristics of the subject. The teacher had prepared the entire requirement of teaching and learning equipment such as attendance list, syllabus, lesson plan, media, and evaluation form. Then the teacher used the picture a media in teaching speaking descriptive text. Most of the students at eleventh graders could overcome that problem during learning speaking descriptive text. 90 % of students could comprehend the material well and 10% of students could not comprehend the material.  It indicated that some of the students understood the teacher’s explanation about the descriptive text.

This objective of this research was to improve the exposition writing skill through the contextual approach on fifth grade student of Kalisari 02 Elementary School East Jakarta. This research uses an action research method consisting if two cycles. Each cycle consists of four phases: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the research were the students on fifth grade of Kalisari 02 Elementary School East Jakarta as many as 32 students. Data were collected through observation for each student during action of learning, field notes, and documentation. The result obtained average values of exposition writing skill are 64,69 at pre-research, increase to 67,19 the first cycle and 80,13 in the second cycle, whereas the student's score of all exposition writing indicators show significant improvement. The conclusion of this research was contextual approach is very effective to improve exposition writing skill. Not only that but applying contextual approach also can improve the quality of teaching-learning process and can improve student’s actively so it can build the active and pleasant situation in the teaching and learning process.

Language teachers play a very important part in language education and learning. What they do in classroom is a reflection of what they know and believe about issues related to their professional practices. Their knowledge and beliefs provide them with the underlying framework guiding their teaching learning process related to the content, approach, and evaluation of teaching and learning. The objective of this paper, therefore, was to examine the beliefs of language techers in teaching learning process. Based on the discussions and conclusions, it is recommended that the English language teachers  need to have clear  beliefs about their teaching learning process, and be very much willing to improve the language pedagogy through self-reflection/self-study. Key words: teaching learning process, beliefs

Speaking Ability was the important aspect in communication. The aim of the study was to investigate the improving speaking ability through storytelling in teaching speaking at eight grade of SMAN 1 Lambitu. This research used classroom action research. The subjects in this research were the students at the eleventh grade of SMAN 1 Lambitu. The sample were 16 students in one class. The researcher used the technique of storytelling through recount text to improve speaking skill. Quantitative data analysis technique used this research through average score and percentage of students’ test, while qualitative data analysis was taken from analysis of observation during the classroom. The result of this study was in cycle I was at fair category (60-70) which average score was 67,4. It indicated the students’ ability in storytelling was not active (<50%)., which the critical success 31,5%. While in cycle II, the result of students’ score was 75,3, which means that the students were good category (60-79). The result was indicated that the students habits in storytelling technique in cycle II was active (<80%). Moreover the result of observation were student enjoy the lesson and follow the teaching and learning process smoothly and regularly. So, the conclusion that story telling technique was improving students’ speaking ability at Eleventh Grade of SMA 1 Lambitu.

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan pemahaman yang mendalam tentang peningkatan keterampilan menulis makalah melalui lesson study pada mahasiswa Program Studi PGSD FKIP Untan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian tindakan yang dilakukan sebanyak dua siklus.Setiap siklus dilaksanakan empat kali pertemuan. Data dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari data kualitatif dan data kuantitatif. Data kualitatif diperoleh melalui lembar wawancara, kuesioner, dan lembar pengamatan. Data kuantitatif yang diperoleh dari hasil tes menulis makalah. Sumber data dalam penelitian adalah peristiwa pembelajaran menulis makalah melalui lesson study mahasiswa Program Studi PGSD FKIP Untan. Hasil penektian menunjukkan data awal nilai rata-rata keterampilan menulis makalah mahasiswa adalah 158,6 (kategori kurang). Setelah dilaksanakan pembelajaran dengan lesson study di siklus I, nilai rata-rata keterampilan menulis makalah meningkat menjadi 298,8 (kategori baik). Pada siklus II, nilai nilai rata-rata keterampilan menulis makalah mengalami peningkatan lagi menjadi 341,8 (kategori sangat baik). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan lesson study dalam pembelajaran dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis karya ilmiah mahasiswa PGSD FKIP Untan. Kata Kunci: Keterampilan menulis, karya ilmiah, lesson study Abstract This research aims to find a deep understanding of the improvement of scientific writing skills through lesson study on students of PGSD FKIP Untan. This research usesan action researchapproach in twocycles. The data in this research was divided into two, namely quantitative and qualitative. The qualitative data wereobtainedthrough interview, questionnaires, and observation sheets. The quantitative data wereobtained from the results of scientific writing test. The data in this research were the scientific writing learning through lesson study on the students of PGSD FKIP Untan. The results showed that the initial average score of students paper writing skill was 158.6 (average category). After learning through the lesson study in the first cycle, the average score of writing skills improved to 298.8 (good category). In the second cycle, the average score of paper writing skills also improved to 341.8 (very good category). The result indicates that the use of lesson study in learning can improve the scientific papers writing skills of PGSD students of FKIP Untan. Writing might be difficult for some people (Alwasilah, 2007). Some students can speak English fluently and confidently, although since they have difficulties in conveying their ideas in writing. Thus, it needs the effective and efficient model of teaching to improve the teaching learning process. Synectic model of teaching is a model applied to enhance students’ ability to write. This model combines various forms of metaphoric thinking to see old ideas in different ways. In this research, the researcher used audiovisual media to support learning. The purpose of this research is to find out students’ improvement in writing descriptive texts using synectic model of teaching. The sample of the research was 36 students of class IXD in MTsN 2 Pontianak. The research was Classroom Action Research using Kemmis and MC Taggart model with two cycles. The result shows that there is improvement in students writing skill. The mean score of pre-test is 56.01, posttest 1 is 66.5, and posttest 2 is 87.46. It means the application of synectic model of teaching using audiovisual media is able to increase students’ ability in writing descriptive text.

This study was conducted in response to the fact that the students’ reading comprehension ability was much lower than they should have achieved. It was caused by several reasons, one of themwas related to the poor teaching learning process. In this study, Task-based Language Teaching (TBLT) was used to improve the teaching learning process and the students’ reading comprehension ability. This research was a Classroom Action Research (CAR) study and it was done in two cycles. Observation and interviews were used to collect data which were then analyzed qualitatively. Students’ achievement of daily-test, the students’ self reflection in the form of rating format and the students’ achievement of post-tests were used in order to support the data collected. The results of this study indicate that TBLT can improve not only the teaching learning process but also the class 8D of MTsN Yogyakarta II students’ reading comprehension ability in recount text.  It is shown that the students are interested to learn reading and they enjoy the reading teaching learning process using TBLT. The students’ average score before the action is 62.81. In the first cycle the mean score is 72.03, meanwhile the mean score in the second cycle is 79.06. It means that there is an improvement of students’ scores from cycle to cycle.
