Sh. Rashidovsky district is one of the territories where the quality of agricultural land has decreased, the main land of the district is located near the city center, industrial enterprises pollute the soil with various pollutants, the natural balance is disturbed and the ecological environment is polluted. During the survey of soil pollution with heavy metals, the concentration of heavy metals in the soil in the layers (0-10, 10-20, 20-30, 30-40, 40-50, 50-60, 60-70 cm) of agricultural land was analyzed. Analysis of soil contamination with heavy metals in the territory shows that a slight increase in the MCL for soils was observed for cuprum, zinc, chromium, nickel, cobalt and arsenic. The increase occurred mainly in the upper layer of 0-30 centimeters. The concentrations of all other heavy metals do not exceed the MCL, which confirms the conclusions drawn in the review section of the study on the low informative value of heavy metals in environmental monitoring. To reduce the negative impact of heavy metals on the light gray lands of the Sh. Rashidov region, it is necessary to apply mineral fertilizers, grow crops that are resistant to pollution.

Numerous studies have shown that the current hydrochemical and hydrobiological state of the Sevastopol Bay has a negative impact on its biodiversity and recreational potential of the region. An increase in population and tourist flow, as well as plans for intense development of the coastal zone resources actualize the task of assessing the impact of the existing and planned configuration of the municipal sewage facilities on the most visited seashore areas and mariculture development. We propose a numerical method for calculating the function of influence of municipal sewage on the quality of the Sevastopol Bay water. Calculations were performed for the city beaches, esplanade of Primorsky Boulevard, piers and the mussel farm with various potential options of outfalls arrangement in mind. We have compared the data from available sources as to arrangement and character of the municipal sewerage outfalls. We have analyzed the connectivity between the known outfalls and areas where contaminated suspended matter is undesirable for each map of the influence function field. The analysis showed Ushakova Balka Beach to be the most susceptible to storm water and sewerage discharge. The areas near the berths on the Severnaya Side are strongly influenced by the immediately adjacent outfalls. Concentration of suspended matter released from the stormwater sewerage in the city center has a dramatic impact on the water condition at major places of recreation of city residents.

The article analyzes the processes of suburbanization and transformation of the spatial structure of the city of Ulan-Ude. Modern trends in the growth of Western and historical factors of development, due to socio-economic and historical factors of development. In the 1990s-2000s, because of the decline in agriculture and, as a result, the lack of jobs, the rural population began to migrate massively to the Buryat Republic’s capital. However, the prices for houses and apartments in the city center were unbearable for many migrants, so the purchase of land plots and the construction of houses were affordable for many. The estrangement of agricultural lands and their inclusion in residential areas allowed the city of Ulan-Ude and suburban areas to somewhat expand the territory of settlements and create a huge number of GNPP (gardeners non-profit partnership) and DNPP (dacha non-profit partnership). The city and suburban areas were not ready for such a flow and were not able to provide the newly arrived migrants with social, road transport and communal infrastructure. As a result, the city was surrounded by a suburbia almost devoid of any infrastructure. There are some elements of false urbanization or squatter area, which is a type of urbanization in which the urban population rapid growth is not accompanied by a commensurate increase in urban functions. In recent years, the growth rate of suburban settlements has decreased, mainly due to mortgages, which have become more affordable for the population and the growth of multi-storey construction. In addition, the village is slowly depleting the human resources that feed the city and the suburbs. In other words, those who wanted to move to the city have already moved

Historic centers have become first-line tourist destinations. In order to achieve sustainable development, it is essential to get to know the opinions of the host community on the impact of tourism, the positives, as well as the negatives. This paper aims to understand the residents’ opinions and perceptions of destinations as the historic cities. This research looks into the residents’ opinions on the impact of tourism in the historic city of Toledo, Spain. The results of a quantitative survey among 442 residents in the city of Toledo are presented. The study is a revision of the literature and analysis and explanation of an empiric study’s results. Descriptive statistics have been used, as well as factor analysis and non-parametric tests to analyze data. The main results point out that residents have a positive vision of tourism development, rather than negative. The economic importance of tourism and its ability to create jobs stand out. However, they also think that the historic center is being turned into a museum for tourists. Analyzing their opinions according to certain demographic and socioeconomic characteristics, some major differences come up, such as that the inhabitants of residential areas have a more positive opinion than those who live in the historic center. Understanding the perspective of the residents can help the managers and planners of the tourism in the city to play down the potential negative impact of tourism and to achieve support from the host community in regards to tourism.

Abstract. On 6 April 2009 an earthquake of magnitude 6.3 occurred in L'Aquila city, Italy. In the city center and surrounding villages many masonry and reinforced concrete (RC) buildings were heavily damaged or collapsed. After the earthquake, the inspection carried out in the region provided relevant results concerning the quality of the materials, method of construction and the performance of the structures. The region was initially inhabited in the 13th century and has many historic structures. The main structural materials are unreinforced masonry (URM) composed of rubble stone, brick, and hollow clay tile. Masonry units suffered the worst damage. Wood flooring systems and corrugated steel roofs are common in URM buildings. Moreover, unconfined gable walls, excessive wall thicknesses without connection with each other are among the most common deficiencies of poorly constructed masonry structures. These walls caused an increase in earthquake loads. The quality of the materials and the construction were not in accordance with the standards. On the other hand, several modern, non-ductile concrete frame buildings have collapsed. Poor concrete quality and poor reinforcement detailing caused damage in reinforced concrete structures. Furthermore, many structural deficiencies such as non-ductile detailing, strong beams-weak columns and were commonly observed. In this paper, reasons why the buildings were damaged in the 6 April 2009 earthquake in L'Aquila, Italy are given. Some suggestions are made to prevent such disasters in the future.

AbstraCTPlants are very important to support life as health support, control the microclimate, absorb pollution, and even improve visual quality. The presence of plants in urban environments is increasingly difficult, given that urban lands are increasingly narrow, especially in urban residential areas which are generally dense and leave little room for plants. Unlike the dense settlements in general, Kampung Cibunut RW 07, especially RT 05 Kota Bandung, looks more beautiful, there are lots of plants in this environment, although there is little open land, the alleys are not too big and the terraces of the houses are very limited. Seeing the excellent development in Cibunut Village, this research is feasible to do the aim of identifying the number and types of plants, as well as methods and methods of planting in narrow spaces and knowing the diameter of the plant canopy. Qualitative descriptive method is used, data is collected through surveys and literature studies. Primary data obtained through field observations, measurements, and direct notes in the field. Each plant is numbered, recorded and then all data will be entered into a matrix to facilitate calculation. Discussions were conducted to obtain various types of plants, planting systems and methods, and the total area of the plant canopy. It is hoped that the results of this research can be replicated and applied in similar dense settlements in the city of Bandung to increase the beauty of the area and the absorption of pollution. Keywords: Plants, Green Element, Narrow land, dense settlement.
