”Tell me, is it good for us here?” Biographical relations to place of three persons from Talvivaara Mining Area. The headline is a statement from my father, an 89-year-old man from Kainuu, in the form of a question, which he often asked our currently 11-year-old son at our former summer house in Kolmisoppi, Sotkamo, in recent years. With this statement, he wanted to express his feelings, attitude and position regarding the place. He had belonged there since childhood and had to give up on the place in 2007. Now it constitutes a part of a mining concession and is in the possession of Talvivaara Oy. Memories are a central part of place experience for the people in the region. There is a connection between the essence of a place, human experience, thinking, feelings and sense perception, and the connection emerges when the problematics of a lost place are examined. Thus, the relation to a place can be examined as a lifelong topobiographical process, which emphasises emotional states and perception. The relation to a place is a physically experienced state of mind, the dynamic existence of perception and feeling, which is largely regulated by the body memory. According to this, people are present in the world particularly through their lives and bodies. Time is in a central position here, since the lived life, related experience and perception are examined from this moment, through the life lived and experienced so far. A place that no longer physically exists, continues to live as a place of memory, in which different factors are emphasised during different phases. (Karjalainen, Pauli Tapani 2004, 2006, 2007; Cresswell 2004; Tuan Yi-Fu 2006; Massey, Doreen 2008; Korjonen-Kuusipuro, Kristiina & Kohvakka, Mikko 2009.) In case of loss, strong sense experiences are connected to the place, because along with the loss, the relation to the place in its entirety focuses on and attaches to certain atmospheres: the landscape with its individual elements, sounds, scents and innumerable nuances.

This chapter provides a systemic perspective of human behavior, which reformulates the concept of effective behavior and cognition that derive from the classical vision of neuroscience and psychology based on the Cartesian reductionist functionalist paradigm. This systemic perspective, which is based on the theory of autopoiesis, proposes that the act of perceiving proprioception is decisive in the capacity of the human being to differentiate himself from an external space within which he is situated; a phenomenon that we will denominate “proprioceptive perception”. This complex phenomenon of dynamic character emerges from the relationship between the domains of the body and language in the individual’s relationship with their environment. Furthermore, from this systemic perspective, we will present the emotional states as cognitive states necessary for the conservation of the individual’s living identity and the close relationship they have with the sensorimotor patterns and proprioceptive perception. This chapter answers the question of how proprioceptive perception affects the human being’s experience of being different from others and from the environment in which they find themselves, having the possibility of being aware of themselves and of the world they perceive - in a present - within the environment in which they find themselves. And it explains how this phenomenon modulates its modes of emotion in congruence with what occurs in its present.

Among the applications that Internet of Things (IoT) facilitated to the world, Healthcare applications are most important. In general, IoT has been widely used to interconnect the advanced medical resources and to offer smart and effective healthcare services to the people.  The advanced sensors can be either worn or be embedded into the body of the patients, so as to continously monitor their health. The information collected in such manner, can be analzed, aggregated and mined to do the early prediction of diseases.  The processing algorithms assist the physicians for the personalization of treatment and it helps to make the health care economical, at the same time, with improved outcomes. Also, in this paper, we highlight the challenges in the implementation of IoT health monitoring system in real world.

Three stories—of a blind photographer, a Jain monk, and a stockbroker with a kidney transplant, in a unique film The Ship of Theseus—frame several challenging puzzles about identity discussed in this chapter. From the analytic tradition of philosophy it considers what matters in identity: memory and/or the body, to indicate residual problems in conceptualizing the problem of identity by using this binary. It suggests using the Continental tradition of philosophy to explain identity in terms of the idea of being-in-the-world and of body schema. Identity as personal integrity is illustrated using examples from the film, foregrounding the importance of wholeness, habituated being, and situated being limiting the possibilities of action open to one. It argues that discussions fueled by imaginary cases of body/memory swaps ignore the pertinence of embodiment in determining our being-in-the-world, a lacunae corrected by feminist philosophers’ focus on the constitution of bodily identity.

The potential for sociological knowledge to assist in counteracting deleterious social forces remains a live problem. The present article approaches this from the perspective of the work of Pierre Bourdieu, and offers an explication of what can be called Bourdieu’s ‘clinical sociology’. This approach presents specifically personal modes of ‘counteracting’ those social forces that entrench themselves in the body. The article begins by examining the central position, within Bourdieu’s philosophical anthropology, of knowing the world as the primordial mode of engaging with it. The clinical task begins with people coming, reflexively, to know what they know. Once they appropriate this knowledge, it becomes possible either to labor on overcoming this knowledge, by a form of bodily re-learning, or to relent to the necessity of a world that they lucidly know extends beyond their capacity to amend.

Ratzinger’s ecclesiology is a Eucharistic ecclesiology: the church is the people of God existing from the sacramental Body of Christ and thus becoming the ecclesial Body of Christ. Therefore the church is communio: the communion at the table with Christ and among the believers, and also a communion of local churches (communio ecclesiarum) that is the basis for the collegiality of the bishops. The spiritual and institutional dimensions of the Body of Christ are mutually interwoven. In every particular church the universal church is present; its representation and the point of reference in doctrinal matters for all is the pope. The church serves the presence of the Word of God in the world in such a way that the Word as it is witnessed to in Holy Scripture is communicated to all by authorized witnesses. Witness (content) and witnesses are inseparable, as succession and tradition are mutually interrelated as form and content.

Today, the current pandemic of the new coronavirus is no less than havoc to the world. The number of infected people around the world is touching the skies. The sufferings of the people are unimaginable. Scientists around the globe are working tirelessly in search of cure to this deadly disease (covid-19). And the most prominent method is developing a vaccine. Though this method treated many diseases, it also shows some side effects (Vaccines, n.d.)6. But my concept is based on the rule of nature and the key point of evolution, natural selection or survival of the fittest. And the concept says that putting the new coronavirus with the body's immune cells will force them to survive, if not, then it will give them the time to understand the virus and create a permanent memory for the virus. Once the cells get fully immunized against the virus they are ready to be injected into the body for a permanent and effective protection.
