We have developed a trivalent vaccine made from the SV/69 strain of the Rhinopneumonia virus (RHIV), the bacteria strains of Salmonella abortus equi BN-12 - the causative agent of Salmonella abortion and Streptococcus equi N-34 - the causative agent of the horse strangles. Preclinical laboratory studies of the immunogenicity of the vaccine in linear and outbred mice showed that the preparation protects against experimental infection with the Rhinopneumonia virus by 88.8%, from the causative agents of Salmonella abortion and horse strangles by 100%. There were carried out clinical trials of a trivalent inactivated vaccine with a centrifuge strain Bacillus subtilis TNP-3 as an immunomodulator in order to specifically prevent salmonella abortion, rhinopneumonia and horse strangles. Clinical trials were carried out on horses in the Central regions of Yakutia. The business output of foals was 50.2% in the republic. The business yield in immunized mares was 76,0 % and in unvaccinated mares only 38,0 % in a controlled production trial at the "Uyruye" agricultural production complex. Consequently, immunization of mares with trivalent vaccine increased the reproduction rate by 38,0 %. Results of extensive production tests on 2,568 heads of herd horses confirmed the data of preclinical laboratory studies of immunogenicity in linear and outbred mice. The trivalent vaccine against rhinopneumonia, salmonella abortion and horse strangles stimulates immunobiological reactivity, induces the synthesis of specific antibodies in high titers and increases the business yield of foals from 18,0 to 38,0 %. The vaccine is highly effective and can provide recovery of disadvantaged settlements.

The article highlights the results of research carried out in 2019-2020 to study the reasons for the drying out of the stems of black currant (Ribes nigrum L.), red currant (Ribes rubrum L.) and golden currant (Ribes aureum L.). As a result of research, the fungus Sphaeropsis malorum Peck. in the first in Russia it was revealed from the drying stems of three types of black currants, red currants and golden currants. This  pathogen inhabited currant stems together with fungi from the genus Cytospora spp., causative agents of stem drying. On red currants, it was established that S. malorum was the main causative agent of branch drying, as indicated by the high frequency of occurrence (75.0-83.3 %) of this fungus on the affected stems, compared with species from the genus Cytospora spp. (16.7-33.3 %) and Phomopsis ribesia (25.0 %). Due to the fact that the cultivation of currants in the immediate vicinity of apple and pear trees leads to infection of plants with the fungus S. malorum, it is necessary to avoid planting currants in the vicinity of fruit-bearing seed gardens.

Dirofilariasis is distinguished by the type of causative agent of dirofilaria - Dirofilariaimmitis and Dirofilariarepens. Dirofilariasis is practically not studied in the territory of Armenia. The article is devoted to determining the spread of dirofilariasis and the extent of the invasion extent in the Ararat region of the Republic of Armenia. The objects of study were shepherd dogs. It was found that in 100% of cases the causative agent is D. immitis; the average invasion rate of shepherd dogs in the Ararat region was 16.6%. The largest number of dogs with dirofilariasis was between the ages of 3 to 5 years. Thus, in Armenia, a local focus of carnivorous dirofilariasis is actively functioning, in the distribution of which cattle dogs are actively involved.

The results of identifying tularemia foci using the predatory bird pellets in the central part of Russia using the example of the Republic of Mordovia are presented. The efficacy of tularemia detection in pellets compared with other biomaterials has been shown. The average content of the tularemia microbe antigen from the predatory bird pellets was 9,4%. The greatest number of registrations of the causative agent of tularemia in the pellets was observed in Eagle Owl (29,2%). To a lesser extent, the pathogen was detected in the Ural Owl (14,7%). The tularemia pathogen was detected more often in the bird predator pellets than in the biomaterial from rodents. The largest share of positive samples was recorded in the riverine districts. The dynamics of identifying the causative agent of tularemia should be noted in 2015, 2017 and 2018, which are characterized by high values of the indicator.

The deposits of the Kharkov suite of Paleogene of Belarus are the soils formed at the turn of existence and regression of the last sea basin and the final establishment of the continental situation in the territory of the country. They are widely spread in the south of the republic and lie mostly at depths of 100–110 m. In the southeast of Belarus, along the valleys of large rivers, these soils often reach the surface. The latter predetermined their active use as the foundations of structures. This is especially pronounced in the city of Gomel, where a wide development of territories is currently underway, within which these soils lie at depths of less than 10 m. The purpose of the work is to characterize the conditions for the distribution of the soils of the Kharkov suite of Paleogene within the southeast of Belarus and to study the characteristics of their composition and structure. The work is based on the results of the author's field and laboratory studies, which included a description of the outcrops, pits, and well cores; soil sampling; determination of their chemical and mineral, granulometric and microaggregate compositions, moisture characteristics for the classification of clay soils, as well as the results of statistical data processing. The paper presents the typification of the soil strata of the Kharkov suite of Paleogene of the southeast of Belarus, which allowed us to isolate three characteristic sites that differ in terms of their distribution, depth, thickness of the strata and composition of the soils. Nine granulometric sand and clay differences within the isolated areas were identified. The study of chemical-mineral and granulometric compositions of soils made it possible to identify their significant changes, both in area and in the section, which is caused by confinement to various facies zones, frequent migration of the coastline, long and uneven erosion and glacier-exaction destruction. The interrelation of the mineral composition, size and morphology of sandy soil particles is analyzed, it is noted that in all their varieties medium and fine sand fractions differ in the greatest mineral diversity.

Coxiella burnetii is the causative agent of Q fever (coxiellosis), which, in addition to acute manifestations, often occurs in a latent form, is prone to chronic course and, in the absence of antibiotic therapy, has a high risk of disability or death. As a result of the presence of a wide range of clinical manifestations specific to other infectious diseases, the use of laboratory test methods (LTM) is required to make a diagnosis. The presence of Q fever anthropurgic foci in the Novosibirsk region was described in the 90s of the last century, but due attention to its laboratory diagnostics is not paid in this region. The aim of the study was to identify genetic and serological markers of the causative agent, C. burnetii, in patients of the Novosibirsk region who were admitted for treatment with fever with suspected tick-borne infections (TBIs). DNA marker of the causative agent of Q fever was detected in blood samples by real time PCR in 9 out of 325 patients. In three patients, the presence of C. burnetii DNA was confirmed by sequencing of the IS1111 and htpB gene fragments. In ELISA tests, antibodies against the causative agent of coxiellosis were detected in the blood sera of 4 patients with positive results of PCR analysis. Contact with tick was registered in 7 out of 9 patients who had C. burnetii DNA and lacked markers of other TBIs. Six people were infected in the Novosibirsk region, two suffered from tick’s bite in Altai, and one case was from the Republic of Kyrgyzstan. Thus, a complex approach using both PCR analysis and ELISA provided the identification of markers of the Q fever causative agent in patients admitted with suspected TBIs, thereby differentiating it from other infections. Contact with ticks in most cases suggests that infection with C. burnetii had a transmissible pathway.

The phase I trial is the first step in administering a drug to humans, but it has no therapeutic purpose. Under the absence of therapeutic purpose, healthy volunteers demonstrated different motivations, unlike the actual patients participating in trials. There were many reported motivations, such as financial motivation, contributing to the health science, accessing ancillary health care benefits, scientific interest or interest in the goals of the study, meeting people, and general curiosity. The aim of this study was to identify the motivation and characteristics of healthy volunteers participating in phase I trials in the Republic of Korea. We gave surveys to 121 healthy volunteers to study their demographic characteristics and the reasons of participation. We identified whether the decision to participate in the research was influenced by demographic factors and whether the perception and attitudes toward the research were influenced by the characteristics of the healthy volunteers. After completion of the first survey, 12 healthy volunteers who had participated in a phase I clinical trial were selected to answer the second interview. According to our survey, most healthy volunteers were unmarried men and economically dependent. Most of them participated in the study because of financial reward. The most important factor to measure financial reward was the research period. Also, 43% of the volunteers were university students, 42% answered “university graduation” and 55% were residing in family-owned houses. Many healthy volunteers were found to be living in family homes and to have a student status or lack of economic independence. Results of the survey showed that 64% of respondents indicated having more than one clinical trial participation. In-depth interviews showed that healthy volunteers had diverse motivation to participate in research and that healthy volunteer perceive the clinical trial positively. The main motivation for healthy volunteers’ participation in research was “financial reward.” Healthy volunteers also considered research schedules, processes, and safety, and had a positive perception of clinical trials, but they thought that the public has a negative perception.

The methods of the common sea buckthorn plants evaluation concerning their to diseases causative agents resistance in the agrocoenoses of the Institute of Horticulture of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine and its network were elaborated on the basis of generalizing the phytopathological researches methodology as well as those methods importance in the breeding on the adaptability substantiated. The bioecological peculiarities and morphological symptoms of the pathogens appearance, namely: Verticillium albo-atrum Reinke & Berthold, Verticillium dahliae Klebahn, Fusarium camptoceras, Wollenw. & Reinking, Fusarium solani (Martius) Saccardo, Fusarium acuminatum, Wollenw., Fusarium oxysporum Schlechtendal та F. sporotrichioides Sherb., Monilia altaica А. Zukov., Stigmina hippophaes А. Zukov, Monochaetia ampelophila Auktorsnamn (Speg.), T.R. Nag Raj, Fomitiporia hippophaeicola (H. Jahn) Fiasson & Niemelä, Phoma elaeagnella Cooke, Coryneum elaeagni, Sphaeropsis malorum М.J. Berkeley, Nectria cinnabarina (Tode) E.M. Fries, Coniothecium epidermidis Corda, Alternaria tenuis Nees, Cytospora hippophaes Thüm. and others were described and the measures of their control considered as well as the ways assessing the investigated crop plants resistance against the diseases caused by the above mentioned causative agents. Besides, the methods were developed of the explored crop plants estimating as regards the basic fungal diseases resistance as well as the effective ways of the control of the main pathogens of the bacterial and fungal diseases. The evaluation of the plant damage by pathogens must be carried out in the orchards of different age. For example, the degree of the Hippophae rhamnoides L. resistance to fusarium wilt in the orchards needs be assessed within 5-6 years after planting. In the common sea buckthorn mother gardens on the older branches, it is necessary to control the causative agent Fomitiporia hippophaeicola. Its spread occurs in case of the branches injury when a plant management or harvesting or under the influence of the unfavourable abiotic factors. The studied crop phomosis seedlings is caused by the fungus Phoma elaeagnella, the display manifestation of which is also observed on the woody or soft cuttings in the nursery or film covers. Root necrosis brought by the fungus Coryneum elaeagni can be often fixed on the planting stock in the plants root. Alternaria the of plants Hippophae rhamnoides L., the causative agent of which is an tinber fungus Alternaria tenuis can be indicated by the drying in the branches of the lower story. When young twigs are affected by the fungus Plowrightia hippophaes (Dothidea hippophaes Fuckel, 1868), the causative agent of the ulcerative necrosis of the bark are numerous necrotic areas that cause rapid plant death. The infection stays in the affected plants wood, so it must be disposed from the plants. The researcher crop plants affected by the pathogen Pseudomonas syringae pv. hippophaeis decelerate the growth processes. In the breeding process attention should be paid to other causative agents of the studied crop, in particular, the species Phomopsis elaeagnicola, which causes the disease phomopsis, blight, that is "dead hand". Cytospora hippophaes, which is the sea buckthorn cytosporosis pathogen, has a significant parasitic effect, colonizing both living and dead branches that are not resistant to changing winter conditions, as well as early spring frosts when the appropriate agrotechnics is absent. The uncontrolled development of the hyphal fungus Coniothecium epidermidis brings about the fruitful branches drying, the fruit skin covering spherically with a black dense powdery layer. Besides, with the absence of the appropriate control the soil parasitic fungi Rhizoctonia solani, Pythium mycoparasiticum, Phytophthora irrigata cause the significant plants losses (up to 30 %). Therefore, in the Hippophae rhamnoides L. breeding on adaptability use the quality planting stock should be pruning, collection and burning of all the affected dry branches, must be carried out as well as the disinfection of cuts and mechanical damage with the 1 % solution of the copper sulfate and puttying them with the oil paint. It should be noted that the alternative to chemicals in the phytopathogenic bacteria control can be biological means on the basis of antagonistical bacteria, including the genera Bacillus and Streptomyces. One of the priority strategies for the fungal and bacterial diseases control is growing resistant cultivars.

Purpose of the Study. To determine the HIV vertical transmission rate in an unselected group of infants born to HIV-infected mothers, and to examine the sensitivity, specificity, and positive and negative predictive values of physical examination and diagnostic laboratory studies (HIV culture, serum quantitative immunoglobulins and HIV-1 p24 antigen) in the diagnosis of HIV infection. Study Population. A group of 142 infants referred solely because they were born to HIV-infected mothers were selected for this study. Methods. Epidemiological and clinical data were obtained retrospectively from the Baylor Pediatric AIDS Clinical Trials Group HIV Infection Registry and medical records. The information recorded included results of physical examination and diagnostic laboratory tests (HIV culture, serum quantitative immunoglobulins, and HIV-1 p24 antigen). HIV cultures were performed according to a consensus protocol developed for the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases AIDS Clinical Trials Group. Results. Of 142 infants whose HIV infection status was known at the time of the study, 17 (20%) had confirmed infection, and 68 (80%) had seroreverted with no evidence of infection. All HIV-infected infants were at least 3 months old when abnormal physical exam findings became apparent (lymphadenopathy and hepatosplenomegaly), but similar findings were noted in an equal number of HIV-uninfected infants. All infected infants available were HIV culture positive by 6 months of age (16/16). There was no positive cultures reported in the infants who seroreverted (32/32). Elevated immunoglobulins (IgG, IgA, IgM) were present by 6 months of age in a high percentage of infected infants. Nearly one-half of the uninfected infants had elevated immunoglobulin levels during the first 6 months of life, but in 50% of the cases it was IgG alone.
