AbstractAcademic procrastination in college students is a common phenomenon, although procrastination’s negative impacts were well known. This study aimed to examine the role of self-regulation in mediating the correlation between mindfulness and academic procrastination. Data were collected by distributing online questionnaires to college students from various universities in Indonesia (n = 305). The sampling technique used was convenience sampling. Instruments used in the research were the Mindfulness Attention and Awareness Scale, the Short form of Self-regulation Questionnaire, and the Academic Procrastination Scale. The regression and mediation analyses were held. Results showed that self-regulation partially mediated the correlation between mindfulness and academic procrastination. Increasing in dispositional mindfulness helps college students regulate themselves, thereby reducing the tendency to procrastinate. The implications and limitations of the study and suggestions for further research are discussed. Keywords: academic procrastination; college students; mindfulness; self-regulation.

Mathematics until today is still considered a difficult subject so that it needs to think about appropriate strategies to encourage students to be able to regulate themselves in learning this subject. This study aimed to test empirically the role of classroom management and mastery goal orientation towards self-regulated learning. The participants of the study were 177 students of state high schools in Sleman, who were selected using a purposive sampling technique. The scales used were self-regulation of mathematics learning scale, classroom management scale, and mastery goal orientation scale. The data analysis using two-predictor regression analysis showed that classroom management and mastery goal simultaneously played a significant role by 68.7% (R2=0.687, F (2.177) =191.243, p<0.01). Classroom management predicted self-regulation (β= -0.130, p < 0.01), and so did mastery goal (β= 0.878, p < 0.01). Based on the results of this study, it could be concluded that self-regulation in learning Mathematics can be determined through classroom management and mastery goals concurrently.

Although family factors are associated with cyberbullying, few studies have investigated the relationship between family incivility and cyberbullying perpetration. The current study aimed to examine the associations between family incivility and cyberbullying perpetration among college students, and further investigate the underlying moderated mediation mechanism. Study 1 was a cross-sectional survey among 640 Chinese undergraduate students ( Mage = 20.29 years, SD = 1.38). Demographics, family incivility, cyberbullying perpetration, and negative affect were assessed. The results supported the idea that negative affect plays a role in mediating the relationship between family incivility and cyberbullying perpetration. Study 2 used a two-wave longitudinal design, aiming to examine both the mediating role of negative affect and the moderating role of dispositional mindfulness (represented through five facets—observing, describing, acting with awareness, nonjudging, and nonreacting—each of which were analyzed separately). The data were collected from 200 Chinese undergraduate and graduate students ( Mage = 22.18, SD = 2.56). Negative affect was also found to play a mediation effect in this study. Furthermore, the results found that acting with awareness and nonjudging weakened the relationship between family incivility and negative affect, whereas observing exacerbated it. Moreover, nonjudging exacerbated the relationship between negative affect and cyberbullying perpetration. The present findings indicate that negative affect may play a role in explaining the association between family incivility and cyberbullying perpetration. Furthermore, acting with awareness and nonjudging could buffer the relationship between family incivility and cyberbullying perpetration via negative affect, which provides a new insight for the prevention of and intervention on cyberbullying perpetration.

Chapter 3 focuses on the cognitive and intellectual growth of college students and includes vignettes written by undergraduate students. The role of the professor in assisting the undergraduate in developing from dualism to relativism is discussed. A review of various learning styles and a discussion of multiple intelligences is provided. Various strategies for motivating students are discussed. Specific techniques for self-regulation are also examined. The chapter concludes with suggestions for differentiating instruction. Suggestions for underclassmen include autobiographical assignments, modeling and thinking aloud; while suggestions for upperclassmen include choice in assignments and recognition of the challenges of planning a future in the arts.

ABSTRACTParadigm life management Organize and Supervise (ADA) is a management system that is a lot of life imposed on developing countries including Indonesia. Adolescents are known for their critical development period due to problems they often face in their daily lives. The problem occurs as a result of adolescent developmental tasks that have not been appropriately fulfilled. One of the problems of adolescents is social media abuse. This study analyzes college students' mental health and their relation to life satisfaction and social media abuse. This research is a quantitative approach that involved 302 college students from the Vocational School of IPB University as respondents. The sampling technique used convenience sampling considering the data is taken online and distributed to as many population members as possible. With this technique, respondents are assumed to be willing to fill out the questionnaire because they feel more comfortable and safer. The results prove that male students in this study more often abuse social media than female students. College student life satisfaction in this study is not related and does not influence mental health and social media abuse. Mental health is proven to be related and influenced by abuse behavior, where an increase in mental health will decrease the tendency of social media abuse on college students.
