Moler disease is the primary disease that disturbs the shallot’ cultivation. Hence, it is beneficial to have preventive measures to mitigate the risk and to improve growth. The research objective is to know the effectivity of Trichoderma harzianum suspension as a bio-fungicide and bio-stimulator. The study used seven treatments, i.e., immersion of shallot seeds on negative control (distilled water), positive control (synthetic fungicide+ZPT 1g/liter), T.harzianum suspension with different concentrations of 2 ppm, 4 ppm, 6 ppm, 8 ppm, and 10 ppm, assigned in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Treatment that results in a significant level will be continued to the Least Significance Different (LSD) 5% test. The observed variables are the intensity of moler disease and the growth of shallot seeds. Experiment results show the significant difference between treatments. The optimal treatment to reduce the percentage of moler disease intensity is the immersion of shallot seeds in 10 ppm-concentrated T.harzianum suspension, while to improve the shallot growth is in 8 ppm-concentrated T.harzianum suspension. The intensity of moler disease has a negative correlation to the plant’s height and leaf’s diameter but shows no correlation pattern to the number of leaves, wet weight, dry weight, and length of roots.

The endophytic bacteria are bacteria whose life cycle is partially or completely associated in the host plant tissue in various kinds of relationships (symbiosis) that it undergoes. The potential of endophytic bacteria as microbial resources is widely used as a biological control for plants, including as the producer of phytohormones and the agent of biocontrol and biofertilizer. This study aims to test selected endophyte bacterial isolates from chili as a biofertilizer to meet the nutrient requirements that are useful during the vegetative growth period of red chili in Ultisols. The study used a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 3 replications, namely A = fertilizer N  recommendation; B = Azospirillum sp AK+ Fertilizer N recommendation; C = Azospirillum sp BT+ Fertilizer N recommendation; D = Azospirillum sp DN+ fertilizer N recommendation. Azospirillum sp AK and Azospirillum sp DN isolates gave better vegetative growth than those of Azospirillum sp BT isolates with average dry weight, respectively, 19.49 g and 18.93 g and with a height of 29.67 cm and 29.60cm. The superiority of the 2 isolates was also shown in the observation of the number of leaves 30.39 and 22.50 and the number of branches 6.45 and 6.28 respectively for Azospirillum sp AK and Azospirillum sp DN isolates.Key words : Endophytic bacteria, red chili, Ultisols

Use of national strawberry seedlings, produced in a system without soil, is an alternative to reduce the dependence of producers on using imported seedlings. The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of applying different concentrations of prohexadione calcium (ProCa) in the growth control of strawberry seedlings and the productive behavior after planting these seedlings. The experiment was carried out in a greenhouse, with a 4 x 2 factorial scheme, four concentrations of prohexadione calcium (0, 150, 300 and 600 mg L-1) and two cultivars (Aromas and Camarosa). In the seedling phase, a completely randomized design was used, with 4 replications, with the experimental unit consisting of 12 seedlings. In the post-planting phase, a completely randomized design was used, with 5 replications and the experimental unit consisted of 4 plants. In the seedlings, the following were evaluated: number of leaves, crown diameter, petiole length, leaf area, chlorophyll content and dry matter of the aerial part. The parameters evaluated in the strawberry plants were: full bloom and fruiting, number of fruits per plant, average fruit weight, total fruit weight, length and diameter of fruit, dry weight of leaves and crowns. The application of 150, 300 and 600 mg L-1 of ProCa decreased the leaf area and petiole length for both cultivars, thus reduced the vegetative growth of the seedlings. On the other hand the chlorophyll a, b and total contents were increased in relation to the absence of ProCa for the two cultivars evaluated. The ProCa concentrations did not influence the number of fruits and the fruit mass per plant, and the results were related to the cultivar factor, where the cv Camarosa had the higher values.
