With other countries of the world, India has passed through unrivalled difficult times due to the pandemic of COVID-19. The national lockdown was started on 25 March, 2020. In fact, the economy of India has largely been disordered due to that lockdown. All Higher Educational Institutions had also been completely closed from 16 March, to 10 June, 2020, without taking any bold strategy for immediate future education. Hence, the teaching-learning process, including research activities of all higher educational institutions, had been hampered with uncertainty at that time. Under that situation, students had also compelled to stay at home and had continued their academic works from/at home with or without digital accessibilities. Co-curricular activities, direct face-to-face interactions with teachers and friends had been stopped totally due to sudden lockdown. In reality, they had anxieties about their syllabus, examinations, results, and future. Under that sudden lockdown situation due to pandemic, the study wanted to address students’ opinion to run their college/university, to measure the anxiety level regarding their syllabus, examinations & results, and placements, and finally to find out a suitable way to run the academic activities under the situation.

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has evidenced the fragility of the education system at all levels, which is why the call of the United Nations through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Agenda 2030, specifically Goal 4, is especially relevant. Additionally, Pope Francis, at the end of the year 2020, proposes to the world a Global Pact on Education, in view of the increase of the social debt due to the unprecedented affectation of the educational system. This disruption in the lives of all people due to compulsory isolation gave way to a change of era and surprised the face-to-face education supply, which had to adjust to a new way of educating. The capacity for resilience made it possible to evaluate, analyze and visualize transformation processes in education, whether in the management of the educational service and/or in the teaching-learning systems. Therefore, this work aims to identify the perception of teachers and students regarding the educational service and quality assurance in COVID-19 time, of an accredited and certified Administration career, belonging to a prestigious university in Ecuador with Ignatian educational model, during the year 2020.

COVID-19 caught everyone by surprise, and even the most advanced higher education institutions around the world probably had challenges moving from Face-to-Face (F2F) to online teaching and learning. For Cameroon, where internet connectivity is still very low, both teachers and students have had a hard time switching to virtual classrooms. This chapter discusses the challenges they have faced in navigating this trajectory in the department of English at the Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS) of the University of Yaoundé 1 (UYI) during the period of lockdown. Based on the experience of 14 teachers who grappled with 14 online courses and F2F mode, the study concludes that due to students’ inability to access the internet with ease, any online teaching/learning at ENS has to be largely complemented with F2F activities.

ABSTRACT: The present work is the result of a bibliographical survey done with samples of academic papers published and made available online from 2015 until the end of the first semester of 2017, about the use of non-institutional educational blogs in the Portuguese language teaching-learning process. The result indicates that most publications treat the blog as a teaching-learning tool and was of a theoretical-reflexive type. Regarding the level of education, most of the work was focused on Higher Education (undergraduate and postgraduate) and for the training of Higher Education teachers. The bibliographic survey indicated that there are gaps regarding the formation of Basic Education teachers to use the blog as a technological tool in the teaching-learning process. The analysis of the published studies pointed to the need to carry out studies that bring experiences and reports about the use of blogs for teaching-learning of students and experiences of teachers who use, in practice, the blog as a technological resource for training other teachers. The examination of the academic work revealed that there is a shortage of didactic materials that allow the teacher(s) to be able to use the blog as a technological resource and studies that treat the blog as a powerful virtual learning environment. KEYWORDS: academic work; technology tool; education.

Online learning today demonstrates comparability with face-to-face learning. New digital technologies provide an improved and immersive learning experience for students and related educational ecosystem. A virtual learning environment (VLE), for example, is an online-based platform that provides digital solutions for teachers and students that enhance the learning experience. This chapter observes the main elements of virtual learning environments, together with an evaluation of the VLE blackboard system design, and discusses how blackboard facilitates teaching, learning, and communication in HEIs. Findings suggest that the weaknesses of blackboard could be compensated by the opportunities, whilst threats should be considered by the policymakers to enrich the teaching and learning experience. Recommendations and future potential research are also provided.
